Introduction
Welcome to the Ni No Kuni 2 Revenant Kingdom Trophy Guide! To earn platinum you need 100% game completion (with the exception of 1 songbook page that can be skipped). All trophies are geared towards progression and get you closer to 100%. When a trophy wants you to do something x-number of times it wants you to do all unique ones available in the game and not repeat the same thing several times. There are two types of Collectibles: Higgledy Stones & Songbooks. Luckily, nothing is missable. After the story there is free-roam and you can go back to all places and mop up side quests etc.
Step 1: Story & Side Quests (60 Hours)
The first step is to enjoy the story and do all side quest along the way. You must solve all side quests to unlock all 103 citizens (needed to upgrade castle to level 4), also to unlock all skirmishes and cooking recipes. Even though the trophy “Recruiting Consultant” says it’s awarded for recruiting 100 new people in reality you need all 103. That’s because yourself (Evan), Roland, and the Kingmaker don’t count for it. Every single person in the game is required.
The side quests in this game are super short 1-step fetch quests. There are quest markers for everything and the starting points are marked on the map. Each chapter introduces new quests, starting at chapter 4.
Also in chapter 4 you unlock the ability to build out your kingdom and increase its influence. Then you can build outfitters, spell research, weapon smith and a higglery which are needed for several trophies.
It is advisable that you use your kingdom to research new skills as soon as possible. Those will give you more XP, more money, and drop more balls. All of which will shorten the time to platinum and reduce the grind. So work on side quests vigorously to unlock new citizens and then upgrade your kingdom for better research projects. On this note, I want to point out the money you make from your kingdom is solely based on its influence, not the number of citizens, and not even affected by how many people are working. Influence is increased by building new facilities, upgrading existing ones and completing research.
Keep in mind you practically need 100% game completion for the platinum so everything you do in this game has some use towards trophies. Even the side quests that don’t directly unlock a citizen are needed to get important follow-up quests.
Along the way, keep an eye on the Ni No Kuni 2 Side Quests Walkthrough.
Important: Getting 500,000 (money) is very time-consuming. After getting 100% game completion I just ended up with 600,000. Do not spend any until you have 500,000 at the same time. You really don’t have to anyway, monsters drop new equipment and healing items constantly and anything you buy would be obsolete within an hour anyway. Only spend money after you have amassed 500,000 for trophy “Royal Mint” to avoid a long grind later on!
Step 2: Tainted Monsters (3 Hours)
After the story & all side quests are finished, you should be level 65-70. Now it’s so much easier to defeat the Tainted Monsters. You only need the first 50 for gold trophy “Scourge of the Tainted”. After defeating 50 of them another 10 will unlock. Those are very good to do in preparation for the 10th Dreamer’s Door but not absolutely necessary. Up to you, better come back to those last 10 monsters during Step 5.
Tainted Monsters are just harder versions of normal ones. They drop better gear, give a lot of money and XP.
If you didn’t get 500,000 Guilders already you definitely will get the rest during this step.
For this step follow the Ni No Kuni 2 Tainted Monsters Guide & Ni No Kuni 2 World Map with All Locations.
Step 3: Collectibles – Higgledy Stones & Songbooks (3 Hours)
There are 30 Higgledy Stones and 31 Songbooks (but you only need 30/31). You can go back to all places after the story and still reach everything.
For the higgledy stones you have to feed them the correct thing to make a higgledy jump out. Just finding the stone isn’t enough.
For this step, refer to the Ni No Kuni 2 Higgledy Stone Locations Guide & Ni No Kuni 2 Songbook Locations Guide.
Step 4: Mop-Up (3 Hours)
With the exception of the Dreamer’s Door related trophies you should now finish up all remaining trophies. That should mainly be for crafting 50 meals, armors, weapons, spells, higgledies and doing all 50 skirmishes in the game.
For the stuff related to crafting you can just make a manual save, craft everything and reload it afterwards.
For the 50 skirmishes (God of War trophy) they have to be 50 unique, different ones. This is tedious because they show up randomly. From doing all side quests and story quests you should already have close to 30 skirmishes done. That just leaves 20 more to find in the open world. Around 5 minutes per skirmish.
(Optional) Step 5: Grind to Level 85-95 (6 Hours)
Optional, but highly recommended: the 10th Dreamer’s Maze features a level 95 boss. And they picked a monster with a lot of health. If you are below level 85 it will one-hit your entire time. While it is possible to defeat it at a low level, it is extremely challenging. Especially because failing has you replay all 30 floors of the final maze. At level 70 this is a 9/10 difficulty but if you grind to level 95 it’s a 1/10 difficulty.
Honestly, don’t waste your time trying. Just put in 6 hours to grind your way to level 95.
The fastest level-grinding technique is to replay the final story boss. Lock on to him with and just hammer on him for a few minutes. At level 70 and with a set of healing higgledies there’s no way he will kill you. You can even watch some TV or do other things, just keep hammering one button for a few hours, skip the ending cutscene and reload your save game ever few minutes.
At level 95 you are ready to tackle the 10th Dreamer’s Door. As a final test of your strength you should defeat Tainted Monster #51-60. The 60th monster is a replica of the endboss you’ll face in the 10th Dreamer’s Maze. Make a backup before Tainted Monster 60 and practice it a few times until you can do it reliably every time.
Step 6: Dreamer’s Door Mazes (2 Hours)
Because these are the hardest you should keep them for last. As noted, the 10th maze has a level 95 endboss, the hardest enemy in the game. The first 9 mazes are easy, you won’t have trouble with those. Just for the last maze you should grind to level 95.
The mazes are sets of randomly generated floors with a boss room at the end. They got longer with each maze (more floors, higher-level enemies). If you fully researched everything from Evermore’s “Multi-Dimensional Lab” this will be a walk in the park. It will show you the exit to every stage. Then you can ignore all enemies and head straight for the exit.
The first 9 Doors are actually part of Side Quest 002: Top Marks for Trying. You get this quest automatically during Chapter 4. It marks the locations of the first 9 doors on the map. The 10th door is not marked. You get the key for it by returning to the quest giver after the first 9 doors are complete. Then the secret 10th Dreamer’s Maze is found on the Faraway Island, to the east of Broadleaf (inside the Faraway Woods area on the island).
Again, I want to point out that the 10th Maze is almost impossible on lower levels because the boss will one-hit you. Just grind out the levels as described in Step 5 to make things easier. For fighting tactics see trophy “Dream Big”.

Royal Mint Awarded for amassing 500,000 guilders. |
||
For this you need 500,000 guilders (money) at the same time. You can check how much money you have when pressing Touchpad. Please do not confuse this with Kingsguilders (which are used for building your Kingdom).
Only the normal Guilders that you use to buy items from vendors count for this! After beating the story, all side quests, and 50 tainted monsters you will end up with just around 500,000. DO NOT spend big sums of money on anything. You really don’t have to anyway. The game is really easy and enemies drop more than enough weapons, armor and health items than you’ll ever need. Plus you level up so quickly that one thing you buy will be obsolete 1 hour later. Just keep your money. You can make some minor purchases such as improving a certain spell or cooking up a higgledy. At the very end after defeating the 10 bonus Tainted Monsters and 10th Dreamer’s Maze I ended up with a little over 600,000 (at 100% game completion). There are a few things you can do to speed this up, do these as early as possible:
Even if you spent a ton of money and end with less than 500k, you can easily farm it in the endgame. Then monsters drop a lot more money and with all the skills and research unlocked it won’t take too long to farm money. Still, to save time, best not spend any. When you’re at 425,000 or so you can make a manual save and try to sell off all your items. After the story this should be enough to push you over 500,000 total. Then you can finally spend money as you see fit! Alternative Endgame Method: Fully upgrade the storage of your kingdom Evermore to hold 999 items and put all citizens to work in production facilities (mines/lumber yards/hunting lodges/farms/gardens/bazaars/fish markets). Wait for storage to be full and sell all the items. This way you just need to wait it out and don’t have to actively play. |

Lord Treasurer Awarded for opening 100 treasure chests. |
||
See trophy “Royal Treasurer”.
Royal Treasurer Awarded for opening 200 treasure chests. |
||
There are infinite treasure chests in the game. You’ll see them literally everywhere, in outdoors and indoors areas. The fastest way to farm 200 is in Dreamer’s Door Mazes. You can do this in the first Dreamer Door if you want. They are randomly generated and always hold tons of Treasure Chests. After the story I had around 100 Treasure Chests. Then I did the 10 Dreamer’s Door and picked up their chests along the way and ended up with well over 250. There are so many more chests scattered around the main map than you need, you’ll have no trouble getting to 200.
If you want to farm it though, Dreamer’s Mazes are the way to go. You can quit out of the maze before the final floor and replay it to gather chests infinitely. |
||
Tripple Threat Awarded for having 50 trip doors remember you. |
||
Trip doors are fast travel points scattered all around the map. You will be introduced to the first one as part of the story. They look like blue glowing fields of energy on the floor. Luckily, there are 57, more than you need.

» Ni No Kuni 2 Side Quests Guide
There are 175 side quests in the game. For this trophy you only need 150. However, to unlock all 103 citizens (to upgrade castle to level 4) you’ll need to do pretty much all of them anyway. I highly recommend that you do all side quests as soon as they pop up. Each story chapter introduces new side quests (starting at chapter 4). Always fast travel to all major settlements at the start of every chapter and check for quest markers. Luckily, the quests are super easy to find. The quest markers show up on the map. They are short 1-step fetch-quests. A few are delivery quests but all materials can be farmed from Evermore’s Fish Markets/Bazaars/Mines/Hunting Lodges/Farms. Always keep those facilities fully upgraded and assign one person to each facility. This way you will get a broad range of items for later quests. For all side quests, their starting locations and walkthroughs, please refer to the complete Ni No Kuni 2 Side Quest Guide. |
||
Errand Boy Awarded for completing your first errand. |
||
See trophy “Knight Errand”.
All About the Errands Awarded for completing 50 errands. |
||
See trophy “Knight Errand”.
Knight Errand Awarded for completing 100 errands. |
||
Errands can be started from the so-called “Swift Solutions” Vendor. The first one shows up in Hydropolis (Chapter 5). He is marked on the map by an icon that looks like a mage’s hat. After chapter 5 the Swift Solutions errand-giver will show up in all major settlements.
You can find this vendor in (marked on map):
They all have the same errands, doesn’t matter which one you visit. Most errands are very simple delivery quests (deliver 3-5 items of a sort to the errand giver). A few are for slaying certain types of monsters or crafting a specific piece of gear. All materials can be farmed from Evermore’s Fish Markets/Bazaars/Mines/Hunting Lodges/Farms. Always keep those facilities fully upgraded and assign one person to each facility. This way you will get a broad range of items. The Swift Solutions Vendor always has up to 12 errands available. When he runs out, check back later (after an hour of gameplay or so). New errands will pop up over time. Start working on this from chapter 5 onwards and you’ll be done in no time. Completing errands gives you tokens of gratitude. You can trade those in for items and to scout for new citizens. Thereby, the errands are absolutely necessary to recruit the 100 new subjects (citizens). You can keep track of this by pressing Touchpad > Library > Statistics > Number of Swift Solutions Errands Completed. |
||
Soldier King Awarded for defeating 1,000 enemies. |
||
See trophy “Warrior King”.
Warrior King Awarded for defeating 2,000 enemies. |
||
Self-explanatory. Kill 2,000 enemies over the course the game. It does not matter what character(s) you use to kill them. It can be any character (doesn’t have to be the king Evan).
You can keep track of this by pressing Touchpad > Library > Vital Statistics > Total Number of Enemies Defeated. I got to just about 2100 when I reached 100% completion, all by natural progression and without farming. Just go for the other trophies and this should come naturally during the endgame. If you want to farm it, the best places are low-level areas. After the story you can one-hit the enemies and get kills super quickly. Forest of Niall – Greenling Grove is a great farming spot. After killing all enemies you can use the fast travel point to make all enemies respawn (only a 2 second loading screen). Roland’s Circular Sword skill will wipe an entire group of enemies in one hit. |
||
Toppler of the Tainted Awarded for defeating your first tainted monster. |
||
See trophy “Scourge of the Tainted”.
Scourge of the Tainted Awarded for defeating 50 tainted monsters. |

» Ni No Kuni 2 All Tainted Monsters Locations
There are 60 Tainted Monsters in the game. They are stronger versions of normal monsters. The last 10 only spawn after defeating the first 50. You can keep track of them by pressing Touchpad > Library > Tainted Monsters. For their locations and advanced strategies, please refer to: Ni No Kuni 2 All Tainted Monsters Locations. If any location is unclear you can check the full Ni No Kuni 2 World Map with all Locations. Below is a video of the 50th Tainted Monster, including the list of monsters at the end of the video: |
||
Ball Boy Awarded for collecting a total of 2,000 balls. |
||
There are green balls (health), blue balls (magic), gold balls (awakening), higgledy balls (higgledy companions).
They are randomly dropped during combat and as rewards for defeating enemies. You’ll get some for every combat encounter. Getting 2,000 sounds like a lot, but I got this all through natural gameplay on my way to the platinum trophy. I didn’t have to farm for any of these and often avoided combat altogether. Balls can still be farmed infinitely after the story in free-roam. Just keep killing groups of enemies. It is highly recommended that you research the following topics in Evermore as soon as possible (requires Castle Level 2):
These upgrades greatly increase the number of balls dropped by your Kingmaker Lofty. You can keep track of this by pressing Touchpad > Library > Vital Statistics > Total Number of Green Balls Gathered / Total Number of Blue Balls Gathered / Total Number of Gold Balls Gathered / Total Number of Higgledy Balls Gathered. Add up those 4 types of ball to see your progress towards this trophy. Note: the purple orbs from Dreamer’s Door Mazes do NOT count for this. |
||
Wakey Wakey Awarded for being awakened by a golden ball. |
||
Sometimes in combat you’ll see a golden glowing ball floating around (randomly dropped by Lofty, your Kingmaker). This happens more frequently in long fights against strong boss enemies (only after finding “Lofty”, your kingmaker). The golden ball “awakens” you, meaning it unleashes your inner strength and boosts your attack and defense. This is pretty much guaranteed to unlock automatically over the course of the story. While the golden balls are rare, they do drop every now and then and you’ll have to fight plenty of tough monsters throughout the story. When you awaken you will see a special animation move and then you start glowing golden.
You can increase the odds by building the “Kingmaker’s Cathedral” in Evermore and researching its special skills “Kingmaker’s Bounty” & “Kingmaker’s Better Bounty”. These upgrades will make more golden balls appear. |
||
Wide Awake Awarded for being awakened 50 times. |
||
You get awakened when you start glowing golden and your mana gauge becomes infinite. Normally, this happens when you pick up a golden ball during combat, which happens randomly (see trophy “Wakey Wakey”).
There is a very fast and reliable way to farm this though: After finishing the story you can replay the final boss as often as you want. During this fight you can charge up your awakening gauge by holding on Lofty. You can easily do this 4+ times per replay. You will have to grind the endboss 50 times or so anyway to get to level 95 for the 10th Dreamer’s Door. So you can easily combine the boss grind with the awakenings. To actually unlock the trophy you need to get 1 more golden ball outside of the final boss fight. To clarify: yes it does count your awakenings from the endboss but the trophy only pops when collecting one more golden ball from normal enemies. |

» Ni No Kuni 2 Citizens List
For this trophy you must get ALL 103 citizens in the citizen almanac. Even though this trophy says 100, you need all 103. This is because yourself (Evan), Roland, and the Kingmaker don’t count as “recruits”. To get all subjects you must do almost all side quests. » Ni No Kuni 2 Side Quests Guide None of these quests or citizens are missable! You can still get all of them after the story in free-roam. Simple follow the Side Quest Guide linked above and you’ll get all of them (it’s color-coded to highlight the quests that matter for citizens). |
||
Cooking Up a Treat Awarded for cooking your first dish. |
||
You automatically cook your first dish during Chapter 4. You need to talk to the cook in Evermore and choose something you want to cook. Ingredients are gathered in the wilds and by defeating enemies, but can also be obtained by letting your citizens farm them in Evermore.
Cooking Up a Storm Awarded for cooking 50 dishes. |
||
Dishes can be cooked at the Evermore Cookshop (your castle). To earn this trophy you must cook 50 DIFFERENT recipes. There are 51 in total, so for this trophy you can skip one.
You unlock new dishes automatically over time, by doing side quests, and by upgrading the cookshop. While in Evermore, walk over to the cookshop to cook a recipe. The required ingredients are gathered in the wilds and by defeating enemies, but can also be obtained by letting your citizens farm them in Evermore. The most effective method is to upgrade your farms, ranches and gardens in Evermore. Then assign a few citizens to them and check back regularly to collect the items. Also upgrade your farms etc. to get rarer ingredients. To farm the rarest ingredients you will have to upgrade the castle to level 4 (recruit all 100 citizens, see trophy “King of the Castle”). In the cookshop you can see a checkmark behind the dishes you have already cooked. Once cooked they will become available for purchase permanently. |
||
Weapon Whizz Awarded for creating 50 different types of weapon. |
||
For this trophy you need to craft 50 DIFFERENT (unique) pieces of melee weapons / ranged weapons.
This can be done at the Evermore Weapon Workshop (your castle). You must upgrade this facility and research better weapons. With each upgrade and research, more weapons become available for crafting. The ingredients can be farmed by your citizens in Evermore (mines, hunting lodges, fish markets etc.). You can see a red checkmark behind the weapons you have already crafted. Once you have 50 of those checkmarks the trophy will pop. You can also make a manual save before this trophy and reload it afterwards to get the money & materials back. |
||
Armor Ace Awarded for creating 50 different types of armor. |
||
For this trophy you need to craft 50 DIFFERENT (unique) pieces of clothes / footwear/ rings / pendants.
This can be done at the Evermore Outfitters (your castle). You must upgrade this facility and research better armor. With each upgrade and research, more armor items become available for crafting. The ingredients can be farmed by your citizens in Evermore (mines, hunting lodges etc.). You can see a red checkmark behind the armor you have already crafted. Once you have 50 of those checkmarks the trophy will pop. Do note that rings and pendants also count as “armor”. You can also make a manual save before this trophy and reload it afterwards to get the money & materials back. |
||
Master of Magic Awarded for upgrading your spells 50 times. |
||
For this trophy you need to upgrade spells a total of 50 times. You can upgrade each spell up to 15 times. After every few upgrades the ingredients will change.
Spell Upgrades can be done at the Evermore Spellworks (your castle). You must upgrade this facility and research better spells. With each upgrade and research more spell upgrades become available. The ingredients can be farmed by your citizens in Evermore (mining camps etc.). Over the course of the story you unlock new team members. They come with new spells for upgrading, thus you have more choices. After the story you will have more than enough materials for 50 upgrades. You can also make a manual save before this trophy and reload it afterwards to get the money & materials back. |
||
Higgledy Hotshot Awarded for cooking up 50 different higgledies. |
||
For this trophy you need to cook 50 DIFFERENT (unique) higgledy companions.
Higgledies can be cooked up at the Evermore Higglery (your castle). You must upgrade this facility and research better higgledy cookbooks. With each upgrade and research more higgledy recipes become available. The ingredients can be farmed by your citizens in Evermore (mining camps, hunting lodges etc.). You can also make a manual save before this trophy and reload it afterwards to get the money & materials back. |
||
Master Builder Awarded for building 20 facilities in Evermore. |
||
To make your kingdom at Evermore flourish you must build new facilities and upgrade the castle. More facilities can be built as your castle level rises. Do a lot of side quests to recruit new citizens. Then the castle area can be expanded so you can make 20+ facilities.
King of the Castle Awarded for upgrading Evermore Castle to Level 4. |
||
Level 4 is the maximum castle level. To get to this level you must have recruited ALL 103 people in the game and built all possible facilities. This can only be done after having finished the story, because the last few citizens don’t spawn before then.
Luckily, nothing is missable and everything is still possible after the story in free-roam. For more info on the citizens check trophy “Recruiting Consultant”. |
||
Superpower Awarded for increasing your influence to 70,000,000. |
||
Influence is determined by how well built-out your Kingdom is. The maximum is 100,000,000. 70,000,000 is possible at Castle Level 3. You’ll have to upgrade all facilities to the maximum and do all research projects. You can check your influence by fast travelling to Evermore and pressing .To increase the castle level you will have to recruit new people, see trophy “Recruiting Consultant”. |
||
To Arms! Awarded for winning your first skirmish. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed (unlocks in Chapter 3).
God of War Awarded for overcoming 50 skirmish challenges. |
||
For this you must beat 50 DIFFERENT (unique) skirmishes. They show up around the map as flag posts and will always be marked on the map. The trouble is that they show up randomly. Getting all of them is rather tedious and may be one of your last trophies. Playing HARD version does NOT count towards this. Only the normal versions count.
Go around the map and finish all the skirmishes that you see. When you’ve already finished a skirmish you’ll notice it gives you the option to upgrade to a hard version for 1000 Kingsguilders. This is how you know you’ve already done this skirmish. Don’t repeat those on hard, it won’t count. Also note that there are many “Invaders in Evermore” skirmishes. New ones spawn frequently outside Evermore. These are needed to get the trophy. They will increase in level and unlike other skirmishes cannot be replayed. I had to beat all available skirmishes on the map, all skirmishes from side quests, and Invaders in Evermore VII (#7) to pop this trophy. The Invaders in Evermore events don’t always show up. If they don’t, repeat another skirmish outside Evermore and fast travel back and forth between a few places. After a while a new flag will spawn just outside Evermore, which is a new skirmish. Getting all of those to spawn took me many hours, it’s very tedious and random. Some skirmishes are even tied to side quests so you’ll have to complete all side quests in the game, too! » Ni No Kuni 2 Side Quests Guide Over the course of the game (and side quests) you will recruit new troops for battle. You can always select 4 troops. I pretty much stuck to the starting units and just leveled those up. Recommended Troops (3 x Melee, 1 x Ranged): The Scurvy Sky-Vipers, The Silver Foxes, Gamma Squadron, The Salty Sky-Serpents. Before every skirmish you can also buy boosters. Always do this. Your troops’ level will increase with each skirmish. I had no trouble beating level 50 skirmishes with level 25 troops with all boosters equipped. Also do the research projects in the Evermore Barracks. Those increase your military might etc. I want to point out specifically that the stats for “Number of Skirmishes Won” are not reliable for this as you may have beaten the same skirmish twice. If you want to track this properly, refrain from replaying any skirmishes and just do the unique ones. |
||
Dream a Little Dream Awarded for entering your first Dreamer’s Door. |
||
See trophy “Dream Big”.
Bad Dream Awarded for hitting Danger Lv. 5 in a Dreamer’s Maze. |
||
Enter any of the 10 Dreamer’s Doors and stand around for a few minutes to let the threat-meter increase to level 5. You can see the threat level displayed in the top right corner.
Note: even if you fully researched “Safer Dimensional Delving Vol. IV” at the Multi-Dimensional Lab, you can still get this. It greatly slows down the rate at which the threat level rises but the trophy is still obtainable after all research projects were completed. |
||
Dream Big Awarded for surviving 10 Dreamer’s Doors. |
||
» Ni No Kuni 2 All Dreamer’s Door Locations You get the key for the Dreamer’s Doors automatically in Chapter 4. When you have to get the Scrubber for Auntie Martha from the Grotty Grotto, a guy called Mileniyah will stop you on the way out. He’ll give you the key. After that you can open the 10 Dreamer’s Doors. They are all shown on the map by quest markers. When you finish one Door the next marker will show up. After completing the first 9 Dreamer’s Gates you must go talk to Mileniyah in Goldpaw. He will give you the key to the 10th door which is found on the Faraway Isle (small island to the east of Broadleaf). Enter the Faraway Woods on the island to find the door. The problem is that 10th door has a level 95 boss. After completing all other trophies you will be level 75 or so, which is still far away from the 95 mark. You can try your luck by dodging the boss very carefully but it’s hard and will take a long time. Also, if you die you will have to go through all 30 floors again just to get back to the boss. What I recommend is that you grind to level 90-95 to make this much easier. The fastest way to level up after the story is by repeating the final boss. Lock on to him with and then just keep smashing , skip the ending cutscene and repeat. You can watch some TV or anything else while you do this. The final boss doesn’t require any skill, it’s just pressing one button for a few minutes. I had completed the game 100% and then replayed the final boss 55 times to get to level 97. At level 97 I killed the maze boss in a few seconds. On level 75 he was almost impossible. It took me around 6 hours of grinding the final boss to get to a high-enough level but wasn’t actively playing for it (just pressing one button). Here is a video of this XP Grinding Method: Also get some good equipment. I recommend you slay the Tainted Monsters #51-60. The Dreamer’s Maze boss is actually a replica of the 60th tainted monster. If you can beat Tainted Monster #60 you can easily defeat the Maze boss, too. Boss Strategy:

Hey PowerPyx,
Having played through the game and the platinum for it as well, how do you think this game compares to the first game? I really really loved Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch but with the removal of the familiars, and the switch to an action rpg combat system made me a bit hesitant to get it. I’ve seen reviews and it seems that it’s pretty mixed in terms of how people feel about this game. But I’d like to know from your experience what this game is like. 🙂
Thanks!
PowerPyx says
I also have some mixed feelings about it, although mostly positive ones (you can find a full review in the review section here on my site). Gave it 8/10.
Never played the first game so can’t compare.
Alejobrad says
In my opinion the first one is better, I loved the combat system and the characters.
Arturo Olivo Jr says
I actually liked the familiars in the first game and it being in real time was difficult.

Hello. Thanks for the guide! I was wondering, I accidentallly read the title of chapter 9 trophy (onward with unity). That’s not a big spoiler or anything right? Don’t know why I’m paranoid about it. Thanks!
PowerPyx says
Probably not :p
Kaj says
Good work, as always. Thanks! Gonna get my copy today!
Pete-a-Dete says
Impressive as always. Thank you for your hard work!

the trophy guide released before the game release here (greece) lol .
thanx a lot mate you are the best 🙂
Isaac says
I don’t think awakenings during the final boss count for the trophy.
PowerPyx says
Try getting another normal Gold Ball and see if that triggers the trophy.
I had 29 Golden Balls in my statistics, then farmed the endboss a few times, then on the next (30th) golden ball that I got from normal monsters the trophy unlocked.
Isaac says
That did it, thanks. I’d been trying to get a gold orb before I commented, but Lofty was being uncooperative :p
hussein says
It does help but you need to awaken just once with a golden ball later to unlock the trophy, so simply when you reply the final boss and keep awakening you will reach what you need for the trophy but you need to get just one golden ball (through a normal fight) to unlock the trophy, I have tested through different save files and it all worked the same

is there certain quests you have to complete to get new recipes

PowerPyx y’all really deserve some MVP credit. I’ve been using your guides for years and they’re always top notch!

A tip for Royal Mint (500k guilders): You can stall in game and sell your kingdom looted storage instead of taking it (there’s an option just before accepting it). Even at kingdom level 3, a full storage might give you 35k or more guilders per run!
Traptnabox says
I agree, after completion of ch 9 I was still 200000 short and just by sell high rank, excess materials ended up with nearly 700000

There is a better endgame EXP farming method. Defeat 50 tempered monsters so that another 10 will spawn. Then go and start a fight with Horraura (LV.79 tempered monster). She constantly spawns minions that give a shit ton of EXP, just killing a few will level you up several times. When you’re out of healing, MP items just bail and repeat.
Alex says
Also, while purple balls in dreamer mazes don’t count towards the Ball Boy trophy green and blue orbs from smashed pots do. So upgrade everything ball related in Multi-Dimensional Lab and you’ll get green and blue orbs almost every time you break a pot. And there are lots of pots in dreamer mazes.
Another way of getting blue orbs is when you farm the end boss for EXP. When he summons fire power and drops rocks on to the ground quickly smash as many rocks as you can – each rock contains several blue balls.
And lastly – use higgledies powers more often, they’re good for balls too. I set up mine with most damaging AoE powers to smash enemies quicker. they seem to be the most useful.

A comment about the 10th dreamer maze boss. He isn’t hard, getting over lv 90 to beat him might be overdo. This boss is not a tainted one, just a regular (I found some tainted bosses from 50 to 60 harder than him).
Getting to floor 30 can be done in 10 minutes if you go directly to the door, so you don’t waste much time in trying. He doesn’t have super move or huge aoe that insta kills you party, so you can calmly revive party members with items while you learn his moves.
If you have good gear (attack 370+), decent defense (220+) and eat steaks on whole party (increases both defenses), you might find the boss challenging at lv 80, decent at 85 and easy at 90. From level 80 onwards, each level makes your characters grow a lot more than the previous levels.

For Royal Mint I just made a save, sold my materials at the Kingdom’s General Store until I got the 500,000 guilders and then just reloaded my game. This way you can spend your money however you want without having to worry about the trophy.
Sugrue-lonewolf says
Nice guide.
The 10th dreamer door isn’t necessary to grind to level 90.
I beat the boss at just level 73 with ease.
Use Roland 4 bar spin attack to Knock him down then a few hits with sword, use item to restore magic and repeat whilst using heeling items
Saare says
Don’t even have to sell all the stuff – just put your citizens in facilities, that give you most expensive stuff, like Dream Prisms. Got 250,000 just from leftovers.

What is the maximum level of military troops?
I have reached level 22, and it does not go up anymore.
I have done many missions and improved the militery barracks to the maximum.
Thanks!
PowerPyx says
I never reached the maximum despite finishing all skirmishes so I’m not sure. Could be level 100. My troops were around level 60-70 in the end. I think you just need to progress further in the game, build out your castle.
Alby says
I have brought the influence over 70000000, but it has not unlocked the trophy.
Can it be, why is my castle still at level 2?
Thanks
Alby says
Sorry I was wrong to read the trophy, I had read 7 million, instead it is 70 million.
Roby says
I did the 10th door at lvl 71 and it was easy.
the only problens for me are 3 of the
10 tainted monster that appear later.
but for the trophy they dont need to be killed!
evo_4 says
same here. lvl 75 and 5 minuutes challenge. saved myself 5 hours of grind luckily.
for me, final tainted monster and again big mushroom tainted monster that always heals was harder .
Ezio says
I have reached chapter 9, but Swift Solutions does not give me the 095 side quest.
Can you elp me?
Thank!
Ezio says
I got the 095 mission, I do not manage to get the 107 mission, I did 162 Swift Solutions.
Anto says
They are both quests that should appear after you reach chapter 8 and completed enough Swift Solutions errands (I do not know exactly how many…). I finished all the side quests but I can’t remember when it did appear…
Anto says
Thanks for the guide. Very useful as usual. Couple of things that may help.
-I killed the boss at the 10th door at lv.82 and it is definitely easier than the secret tainted monsters. -Just to be clear, whoever wants to grind, as you can see from your video after lv 80 you only fill 1/3 of the bar every time you kill the last boss. It is half before lv. 80 so it does take very long….
– I spent money throughout the game and if you go for the platinum you do not have to worry about it as with all the materials and equipment you find you’ll get much more than 500000
Reti says
I’m SOOOO glad I didn’t grind the levels and was so very disappointed at the “difficulty” of the dream door 10. Like, I went in at lvl 68 and was expecting to get wrecked, but it was really easy. It didn’t even one shot me at times too! I hyped myself up for the biggest disappointment. Everything is good, but like making it sound much more difficult than it is, is kind of misleading like a 9/10 difficulty is a bit of a stretch.
Xenon says
Hey, I just wanted to let you guys know that there’s absolutely no need to spend hours grinding to lvl 95 to beat the 10th floor Dream boss.
All you need to do is get Boss-Woss, Popple, Frabjus and Charnel and upgrade them to lvl 10. Just summon all the knights you can and dodge his attacks. The knights will do all the work for you, basically. Just try to get in some charged attack stun-locks if you can.
I only found this out because I didn’t realise you couldn’t leave the floor once you entered, so I had to at least try to fight him.
At the time, I was lvl 73~

For Higgeldy Gaggle, I just got the trophy with the following Higgles:
Pib the Peregrinator
Gyre the Flyer
Cummerbund the Clement
Popple the Pure
So it’s one of what I’m guessing is many alternatives for the trophy.
