Ni No Kuni 2 Revenant Kingdom has 31 Songbook Locations. Finding the Songbooks will unlock the Music Buff trophy or achievement. The Songbook pages unlock soundtracks which you can listen to in the Evermore Symphonium.
None of the Songbooks are missable! You can still get them after the story in free-roam.
Songbooks are acquired in three ways: from Side Quests, from Tainted Monsters, found in Treasure Chests in the open world.
To see how many you have found, go to Library > Vital Statistics > Number of Songbooks Collected. For the “Music Buff” trophy you need only 30 of 31. So there is one more than you need.
Many places are unreachable until you unlock the Zippelin (start of Chapter 7). Better wait until you have beaten the story. You can then go back to every place in the game.

Just an observation: the songbooks you have found appear in your key items list, but after you speak with the bard, they are removed from that list.
I thought I was missing 9 cause I had 21 on my key items list, then got one more and the trophy popped up. I thought for a minute that it was probably bugged. Went to Evermore and spoke with the bard, and then noticed all of them were removed from my list.

Songbook 13 is located at the most far left side of Sidewinder Gorge (looks like an imperfect circle on the map. It’s the area where you fought Incinerator (large dragon) in the main story. The chest can be a bit hard to spot, but you’ll see it if you hug the walls in that area – it’s located at little to the left, near the bottom of the aforementioned, circle-shaped area.
