There are 5 different endings you can get in New Tales from the Borderlands. All Endings are tied to either the Skateboard Rating or the three friendship ratings. This guide shows all 5 endings and how to get them. You need all 5 Endings to unlock the “You Played This Before?” trophy and achievement. They can still be done via Chapter Select. It would be best to go for a high Skateboard rating (80% or more) on the first playthrough, you need this for trophy “New Business” anyway. You get a high Skateboard Rating by always picking the nice dialogues and not failing quick-time events. Then you would only need to replay Episode 5 for the other 4 endings.
Ending #1 – Everyone Survives
This is the best outcome you can get, to get this you need a Skateboard Rating of 75% or higher. You get this rating automatically when going for 
New Business trophy/achievement. And all three friendship relations must be above 50%. Depending on how low your Skateboard Rating was at the end of Episode 4 (you can view your rating from the Main Menu under Extras > My Choices), you only need to replay Episode 5. If it was below 60% at the end of Episode 4, it is recommended to replay Episode 4 entirely.
Ending #2 – Everyone but LOU13 Survives
In this ending, everyone but LOU13 survives. To get this ending You need a Skateboard Rating of 50% or higher at the end of the game, also all friendship relations must be over 50%.
Endings #3, #4, #5 – One of the Group Members Dies, the Rest Survive
There are three friendship ratings that are important here:
- Brain ‘N Brawn – Anu and Fran relationship (if it’s under 50% at the end of the game, Fran dies)
- Sis ‘N Bro – Anu and Octavio relationship (if it’s under 50% at the end of the game, Anu dies)
- Frogurt ‘N Tacos – Octavio and Fran relationship (if it’s under 50% at the end of the game, Octavio dies)
Each of these ratings is tied to one ending. To get one of these endings the respective rating needs to be under 50% so that one of those characters dies at the end. For these three ratings, it is enough to replay only Episode 5. Depending on how low your score was on your first playthrough it maybe is enough to only replay the last 2 chapters of Episode 5. If you don’t wanna lose your score from the first playthrough, you can press 
/ 
in the Main Manu and duplicate your save file to another save slot. It does not matter on which save slot you do the endings.

Wrong information. Have a video up of all endings. -Ock died when scores where 36%, 50%, 52%.
Anu died when it was 36%, 52%, 52%. Almost the same.
I believe some dialogue triggers different deaths.
Not saying you are wrong, but the endings did unlock for me as described above. Maybe there are multiple ways to get them.
it may even be that you had the scores, but I also believe that what matters are the dialogue options in chapter 5. oct was at 70% with Fran and 90% with Anu and died anyway. Fran was at 30% and lived.
Getting the endings is a nightmare, only one relation need to be under 50 for a character to die?

As i wrote on the other comment, this is how they unlocked for me. But I agree that there is more to the endings that need more investigation.
After several plays, I think I understood how the Endings for character deaths work. Fram has to let himself be dominated by his Rage, Anu can’t think he was wrong to abandon his brother and Oct has to be selfish and continue living in his world of illusion without admitting his mistakes. The score doesn’t matter, that’s why sometimes someone dies, even with another character having a lower score. The other two endings, these depend on the score.
Indeed, this trophy is a nightmare. Got both relationships above 50 and one like 68, as it is needed by several guides in the internet. Still happy, f**king ending. What a morons designed that bullshit system. That single trophy ruined all the experience for me.
Does anyone have any tips for the neutral ending? My characters have friendships around 50%, and I reduced the team’s score to 70. But always someone dies, never comes the neutral ending.
I’m almost giving up, I can’t stand to try anymore.
Thanks for the tips on dialogue choices. Im gonna give this one more shot before I return it to gamefly Monday. So glad I didn’t buy this game just because of this trophy. I did a “perfect” ending run first and have done experimenting with the last episode. I followed one guide for EP 5 and ended up with Anu dying but the character that was supposed to die is Fran. Another guide suggested I let the game play itself during EP 5 and instead of Anu dying Oct did (which worked out for me).
Also when I let the game play itself it TANKED my skateboard rating to 21% and my perfect ending was at 81%.
So I’m confident that IF you got the “true” ending that if you use that save file; every ending is possible by reloading EP 5 and playing from the beginning and making the right choices.
Still, if I can’t figure this out by Monday morning I’m done with this game because this is no longer fun. Been using remote play on PC just so I can watch/play something else until I need to make dialogue choices.

What choices from episode 5 do you have to choose to get the Oct death ending and the neutral (Lou13 death ending) after using copying your best skateboard ending safe file ?? I have tried, can’t get those endings. They are the last two I need.
Yeah, these explanations make getting the endings way easier than it actually is. Anyone know specifically what to do to get the different endings?
So I think I got the Ending #1 – I mean all three were there at the end in the office (however Fran “disappeared” momentarily on Tediore ship. I ended with Skateboard 78% and relationships 57%, 60% 71% BUT I did not get the New Business trophy. I’ve seen other places that maybe 80% is needed? I found a step by step guide to decisions elsewhere that is suppose to result in 80% – 82% so going to at least try that. Can anyone confirm that with where I’m currently at, I should be able to do all 5 ending with ONLY replaying Episode 5? Without being able to skip dialogue on replays, I don’t see how I could sit through this entire game again. The GAPS between interactive elements is so much longer than TellTale games of the past.

Did anyone ever find a surefire way of completing most of these endings? I intentionally failed most QTE’s and my skateboard score WENT UP 8 POINTS!! I’ve already received the best ending and the one with Anu dying but I always keep getting Anu dying regardless of what my percentage is with my relationships.
Same, though I have never intentionally failed a QTE aside from the Jabber one. I have only gotten the everyone survives and Anu dies endings. The Anu dies ending was even when the Sis & Bro rating was over 50%. The only % under 50 each time I’ve gotten to the end was Anu/Fran (the other two were well above 50%), yet I have not gotten the Fran died ending.
The ending involving one of the mains dying doesn’t appear to be accurate. I just finished the game, and my Anu/Ock was at 57%, Fran/Ock was 61%, and Fran/Anu was 42%. Anu was not alive in the ending. I also had similar percentages on my first run through, and everyone survived. I am wondering if it all depends on what answers you give Anu near the end?
How the hell did Fran die if my Brain N Brawn was 68%!!!!!!
