This guide shows where to find all 214 Pokemon Locations and how to get all their Photos in New Pokemon Snap, ordered by Photodex numbers (full Photodex). This includes all the 1 Star, 2 Stars, 3 Stars, 4 Stars Photos for each Pokemon with instructions how to trigger them exactly.
Pokemon have fixed routes where they can spawn. The level of the route also affects the spawns. The daytime (night or day) also changes what Pokemon show up. This is explained on each Pokemon’s guide page here. The goal in the game is to take all 4 photos of each Pokemon (214 Pokemon x 4 Photos = 856 Photos total). This guide will help you out with that.
You can check your progress in the Photodex. At the camp click on the Lab menu, navigate to the Photodex at the top, click on Pokemon. It shows how many Pokemon you found and how many different star-value photos you have taken. Click on a Pokemon to see what Photos you already have and which ones you are missing. There it also shows what score you go for each Photo.
In the Photodex you can also click on the Photos you’ve taken to enlarge them. It always shows you a clue in a little text under the photo, for example “Flying” or “Pretty common behavior” or “On alert”. Triggering these different Pokemon statuses impacts the star ratings. The Photodex Number of each Pokemon is shown in the top right corner of their enlarged Photodex image, it’s a number on a little red background.
You can replay all routes as often as you like and still replay their lower level versions at any time. So nothing is missable.
Click the linked page for each Pokemon below to see all their spawn locations and how to trigger each star rating (remaining Pokemon are still being linked).
