There are a total of 78 items in Mortal Shell, all listed in the Compendium section of the Equipment Menu. For the trophy Bars Tended you need to reach maximum familiarity with all possible items. All items except for Weapons & Equipment, Key Items, and some Currency have a familiarity level that you need to increase fully from use. The unique Glimpses that have a familiarity bar but show as max familiarity before you use them don’t count.
The below list includes all items in the order shown in the Compendium section, along with their effects. The number in (brackets) is the number of times the item needs to be used to reach maximum familiarity level (without Solomon’s increased familiarity ability). Words in italics are the listed effect/purpose of each item, with a second line underneath being what the bonus is when the item is at maximum familiarity. After beating the game you can choose to stay in your current playthrough to keep exploring and pick up your missing items and collectibles.
Missable Warning: The “Mango” and “Glimpse of Disdain” items located in the Seat of Infinity region cannot be picked up if you have defeated the boss in that area during the current playthrough. If you have missed it you will need to obtain it in NG+.
If your game menu shows more than 78 items, then the bonus ones are seasonal items from timed events (e.g. Rotten Guard from Halloween Event), which are no longer available. Those aren’t needed for any trophies, only the 78 listed here are needed.

On this lower path, walk underneath the left path leading up and look down at the blocking floating below to see a chest. The is a point on the platform you can stand on before dropping down that should put you basically right over the chest. Make sure to either be playing as Eredrim or use the harden drop attack to avoid dying when dropping onto the platform. You will also have to either die or use a mask to get off this platform, so don’t take a lot of tar down with you. Kinomaks says
Are you sure that you don’t need Glimpse of Reverie for Bars Tended? That’s the only one I’m missing, stuck at 77/78 and no trophy 🙁
Kinomaks says
My bad, lute was at 9/10 familiarity. Trophy done, thanks!
Gage says
Very certain because I didn’t have it when I got the trophy ;p Glad you got it figured out
RHGSniperFox says
Just want to mention – the Glimpse of Reverie isn’t exactly missable. You can also get it in NG+ even if you don’t beat Hadern in the tutorial – you can fight him again at the weapon statues, if you beat him, you get the Glimpse as well as a Quenching Acid (Instead of unlocking the weapon)
Gage says
Oh nice thanks for the info. I didn’t bother trying those fights again in NG+ because I had no reason to.
System says
Hey where do you pick up the glimpse. Im in new game + and beaten all the hadern again, but I only get quenching acids when I beat them. Thought I got the glimpse on the last of the 3 but only got quenching acids.
Francesca says
Hmm I tried two times already, beating all the Hardins and only getting Quenching Acid , not trace of Glimpse of Reverie. Any suggestion?
callum says
dont suppose theres any update on the issue of the glimpse not dropping in NG+
Liquidocelot666 says
There is another Baguette in the game
It’s in the Seat Of infinity, at the top of the tower where there are 2 teleporters, at the right of the one which teleports you at the “fall zone” there is like a rock pointing towards the void, you can see another teleporter like 30m down that little rock
It will bring you at the far top of the Tower, where there is the second baguette
Sorry if I’m not clear
WildFire says
Just wondering do I have to get the glimpse for talking to the guy in seat of infinity as Harros, in NG+?
I already kicked him off the edge and got the cowardice glimpse, just because by chance I was playing as Eredrim and came across him, trying to get the sparta trophy but it automatically kicked him off anyway.
FOX says
Same here :/
Bort says
No it doesn’t not count. I talked him out of jumping n lost the chance for his glimpse. I still got the bars tended trophy afterwards.
Josh says
Was streaming tonight and found the second baguette. It’s in Seat of Infinity. Here’s a vid of the location:
YouTube
Love your guides, by the way!
Severe says
You can get the Accretion of Foresight ability with Solomon the Scholar for 1000 tar and 8 glimpses to increase your familiarity with items faster. I did this with for the Baguette since I missed it in NG, so I got max familiarity in one use.
JKatarn says
For Mango you don’t necessarily need to kill yourself and lose tar.
Just quit to main menu and load back in, you will be taken back to a checkpoint with all your tar!
yggdrasoli says
The Glimpse of Disdain as the mango can be missed too.
PowerPyx says
Good spotting! This has been fixed, thank you 🙂
Shane says
I bought the ornate mask from Sester Genessa and I maxed its familiarity, but it doesn’t show up in my compendium for some reason even after reloading the game and using it multiple times. Will this affect the trophy in any way?
Shane says
Update: so I went and got every other item maxed out on familiarity and got the Bars Tended trophy even though the mask is still undiscovered in my compendium
Milan says
Hey man, l need one Scripture of Despair and l even killed the final boss so l cannot go back to places where they are located as there’s fog now. Is it missable as well? Your guide says no, if it is not indeed how can l go and reach these places? Thanks a lot in advance
Behrouz says
Hi… bars tended trophy in mortal shell is bug for me ..everywhere ,total item is 78 but for me there is one extra consumable item which I can’t find it..it is located at the end of the consumable item
could you please help me what i can do….
Frank says
I just wondered if you found out what the last item is as on top right corner it says item discovered 78/79 and on consumables I have everything on the list, but there is 1 extra item with question mark on it which is at the end as well. Please let me know.
James says
@Behrouz: I just Platinumed Mortal Shell last evening. I also was unable to find Item #79. However, this item is not required for the “Bars Tended” Trophy; this trophy actually popped for me once I had reached max familiarization with every other consumable item. Ensure that you are using the Solomon Shell when familiarizing yourself with each item as this shell provides double the familiarization. Hope this helps.
atat23 says
I must have got lucky as there were four items listed I still hadn’t got when the trophy popped:
Knotted Gland
Glimpse of Fallacy
Glimpse of Oblivion
Glimpse of Reverie
Qrionics says
Where can i find the glimpse of courage?
Kenneth says
On my game Compendium it says there are 79 items? There’s another item below Rotten Food on the list. Does anyone know what it is?
callum says
glimpse of reverie wont drop for me in NG+, any ideas why this may be?
