The Wildspire Waste region in Monster Hunter World Iceborne has 10 Treasure Locations. This guide shows where to find all of them.
How Treasure Hunting Works
Each region has a total of 10 treasures. In order to start hunting treasures you will have to reach Unity Level 6 with the grimalkyne faction in the region you want to search for treasures (Bugtrappers for Ancient Forest, Protectors for Wildspire Waste, Troupers for Coral Highlands, Plunderers for Rotten Vale, Gajalaka for Elder’s Recess, Boaboa for Hoarfrost Reach).
To start leveling a faction you will first have to earn their trust by finishing their side quests, which also unlock a certain Palico Gadget from each of them. Use this guide for information on how to unlock all the Palico Gadgets: Palico Gadgets Guide.
Once you have a gadget unlocked in a region you can now use the help of a faction on a hunt. You can either just search for a grimalkyne on the map and it will join you on your hunt or you can use the new gadget “Tailraider Signal” you can unlock in Hoarfrost Reach which lets you call a tailraider like a taxi (highly recommended). Be careful though: you can only call a tailraider when you play solo, since it takes 1 of the 4 spots on your hunting party.
Once a faction reaches level 6 you will be able to perform pawswap with them in their lairs (marked on your map and also has a quick travel button). You can now trade them items for treasure tips. A grimalkyne will show their interest in your item by their movement. They can be non-interested and will turn their heads away, be curious or neutral about it, or go totally crazy for your item, jumping around, dancing around, basically begging you for it. That’s what you are looking for. Always give your items to the grimalkyne which wants it the most, or one of them since multiple can have the same reaction.
They enjoy stuff like potions, meat, traps, etc. Try giving them basically anything you have in your box, they might like it. They can drop the hints pretty fast sometimes and other times you will have to travel back and forward between regions a lot for a single hint, since you can only give them 3 items during a single visit. Only after you get the hint you can find the treasure. Some treasures have one or two hints before you can dig up the actual treasure.
This particular guide covers the treasures locations in the Wildspire Waste.
Tip: In the bottom left corner of the second screenshot of each treasure, you can view the exact map location. The area number (as seen on map) will be mentioned in the text below, just head to the area and check the minimap to align it with the screenshot. The 2nd screenshot also shows the exact spot to stand in for the treasure.
Treasure #1
From the pawswap simply head down to the area with sand curtains where Diablos takes his nap.
Treasure #2
The second treasure of this region can be found in a hollow tree in area 6.
Treasure #3
Can be found in area 10, on the small ledge just before going down to Jyuratodus’ lair.
Treasure #4
You can either solve the riddle or just head to the southmost cactus which you can find at the border of areas 1 and 4.
Treasure #5
Southwest bones in area 9, Barroths lair.
Treasure #6
Can be found in the north-west corner of area 8 next to some stones. It’s the sand dunes area where you fight Teostra, Lunastra and few others a lot.
Treasure #7
At the very top of Wildspire Waste. In area 5 head through the tunnels and up the vines.
Treasure #8
The first multi-part treasure of this region. The first hint leads you to area 12. There drop from a ledge down to the side with paintings on the wall.
The second hint is not far away. You only have to climb the ledge back up and drop from it on the other side. There you will find the final hint leading up to the real treasure.
The treasure itself is in area 7. This is the place with Gajalakas, sometimes the Cactuar and also the spot where you fight multiple large monsters. You should be familiar with the spot.
Treasure #9
In area 1 from the small pond head east and drop down the first small waterfall for the first hint.
The second hint will lead you to the very west of area 2. Look for a broken tree. Don’t go far since…
… the final part of this treasure is very close. You can see 2 paths between areas 2 and 3. Take the one on the right and check the bee-hive for the treasure.
Treasure #10
Another riddle which you can solve by looking at your map or simply head the stone pile basically in the middle of area 6 up on the higher ledge.
And the treasure itself can be found in the tunnel of area 11 leading into area 12. Check the plant for the final treasure location of the Wildspire Waste region.
That’s all of the treasures in Wildspire Waste Region of Monster Hunter World Iceborne. For all other regions refer to the full Monster Hunter World Iceborne Treasure Guide.
