Monster Hunter World Iceborne: Purecrystal Location

September 5, 2019 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Purecrystal is a crafting material and ore crystal in Monster Hunter World Iceborne. It is used to craft various Weapons, Armor and Upgrades. It’s used especially in Iceborne starter weapons and one of the most important crafting items that you will need a lot.

Item Description: Purecrystal is a very rare lightcrystal. Used by the forge workers to craft their tools due to its incredible hardness.

Location: Purecrystal is a rare mineral randomly mined from Blue Mining Outcrops  (not from red ones) in the following regions:
(Map Locations in Blue Circles)

  • Wildspire Waste (Blue Ore)
Available on Master Rank Difficulty (Iceborne DLC only)
  • Coral Highlands (Blue Ore)
Available on Master Rank Difficulty (Iceborne DLC only)
  • Rotten Vale (Blue Ore)
Available on Master Rank Difficulty (Iceborne DLC only)
  • Hoarfrost Reach (Blue Ore)
Available on Master Rank Difficulty (Iceborne DLC only)

You can get it from any of these blue (not red) outcrops. It’s best that you go from outcrop to outcrop and mine all of them until it drops. Then fast travel to another map to make everything respawn and go again.

The way mining works is that each map has a few different types of ore. Each outcrop on that map can drop any of that ore. It’s slightly random. So ore is not restricted to one outcrop, but rather to a certain map. Keep in mind that Purecrystal is a very rare drop, you will notice your character doing a special animation that takes longer than mining common minerals, and will hold up something shiny to indicate its a rare find. On average you should get it once when mining every blue outcrop on Hoarfrost reach in one go (but sometimes it may take two full runs or more).
