Game Info
Monster Hunter Wilds is the continuation of Monster Hunter World. It features many quality-of-live improvements that make the game more approachable for newcomers. The general gameplay loop is the same as in other Monster Hunter games, you hunt a new monster in each main quest, use the materials to craft better weapons/armor, and climb up the hunter ranks to unlock more difficult hunts. The amount of content is very similar to Monster Hunter World, there are 5 maps and 29 large monsters. New features include the ability to call 3 AI hunters by using an SOS flare, this makes it significantly easier for solo players who don’t want to rely on online matchmaking. Whether a monster is crown-sized can now be seen with the binoculars before fighting the monster, saving a lot of time on the crown farming (each monster comes in minature size and extra large size which unlock the crowns). You have a mount that automatically follows monsters, and you no longer need to run around looking for monster tracks. All materials, bonepiles, and mining outcrops are marked on the map from the start, so you don’t need to spend as much time searching for materials. The main story takes around 20-25 hours for experienced monster hunter players and 25-35 hours for new players. There are also side missions which consist of optional hunts and finding some endemic lifeforms (small wildlife) in the open world.
