Introduction

Welcome to the Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide! The game and trophies are very similar to previous Monster Hunter titles. Monster Hunter Wilds adds various quality-of-life improvements. All materials are marked on the map from the start. You now have binoculars that show if a monster has a large gold crown or a miniature crown. When you find a crown-sized monster you can save it as an “investigation”, which can be replayed with co-op players to “gift” them the crown. Solo players can use SOS flares to fill the lobby with 3 other AI hunters. All of this makes the game more beginner-friendly and less grindy. Another player could gift you all of the crowns if they save their crown investigations and invite you, likewise you can do the same for others. If you play with a group you can keep track who got which crowns or focus on different monsters, then quickly exchange the crowns afterward to reduce the grind. You will still need to reach Hunter Rank 100, capture 50 monsters alive, finish 100 quests in multiplayer, and finish 100 quests with your Palico deployed (max 2 co-op players, or playing solo without SOS flare). There are many other small quality-of-life improvements, such as faster load times, being able to skip the timer after hunts, being able to ride a mount that automatically finds monsters so you no longer need to search for tracks, you have a portable grill to cook food anywhere, and on the map you can see at what exact daytime each monster will spawn.

Step 1: Finish the Story

Focus on finishing all 6 chapters of the main story. You will need to reach Hunter Rank 40 to finish the story. From Chapter 4 onward you will only get new main quests after leveling up your Hunter Rank. You increase this rank by defeating monsters and completing optional side missions. Since you need 30 side missions anyway it’s best to work on these during the story, they also unlock useful items and gameplay features.

For trophies it’s most efficient to play online co-op with one other person, to work simultaneously on the 100 multiplayer quests and 100 quests with your palico deployed. If you play with more people it removes your Palico. Solo players can use SOS flares to call 3 AI helpers which makes the hunts significantly easier, then you can still farm the 100 online/palico quests on the weakest monsters after the story.

After finishing the main story you will have access to all monsters and regions, allowing you to effectively work on all trophies.

Step 2: Crown Hunting

The game has 29 Large Monsters at launch, 26 of which have both a miniature and a large gold crown, for a total of 52 crowns. For a list of all monsters and their habitats refer to Monster Hunter Wilds All Monsters List.

In previous titles the crown hunt was notoriously long and grindy. This time it’s much faster because of the following time-savers:

  1. Use Binoculars to see Crown Sizes: With the binoculars get close to a monster (about 50 meters) and watch it. A crown will show up under its name if the monster is big or small enough for a crown. This way you know upfront if a monster is worth fighting.
  2. Saving Crown Monsters as Investigations / Crown-Trading with Friends: You can save the investigations for a crown monster you have found (up to 50 investigations can be saved) and share them with your friends and they can share theirs with you to “trade crowns”. When you find a monster that awards a crown you can press Touchpad and then :square: to open up the monster list and press :x: on the crown-awarding monster, which will let you save it as an investigation for later. This will allow you to do the same hunt, with the exact same size monster 3 more times. You can also go to Alma after a Field Survey and view the recent ones, then can still save the investigation after the hunt. This enables the community to work together and trade crowns quests with each other. One person can carry 9 other players by inviting them to the initial hunt and the 3 investigations afterward. By trading the crowns players will be able to get them done in no time. Since you can save 50 investigations and one gold crown (Doshaguma large crown) is guaranteed, you can basically save 50 out of the 51 crown monsters in your investigations and carry someone to the platinum with no effort whatsoever on their part. This turns a long grind into a matter of hours.
  3. You can quickly change the monsters freeroaming the map: At your portable BBQ you can choose to REST and then choose the weather and time of the day for a map. This will reload all the monsters available on all maps if you don’t see any you still need.
  4. You can save-scum the crown hunt: Since you see exactly when a monster will spawn with a progress bar, you can save just before it spawns (about 30 sec before it spawns, not less though) and see if it has a crown. If it doesn’t you can leave to the main menu without saving and reload to try your luck again until it has a crown. You can basically try once a minute for a crown. It might take some time but is still way faster than everything else apart from someone sharing their crowns with you. The monster will only be appointed a size shortly before it spawns, so do not save too close to its spawning time but like 30 sec away from its spawning, otherwise you might be getting the same size over and over again when you save too close to the time of its spawn. Make sure to be offline for this method though.
  5. Cruise between online lobbies: You can also keep cruising between online lobbies to see if one has a crown you need and hunt the monster there.

Step 3: Cleanup

Take care of whatever is still remaining, like Side Missions, Endemic Trophies, Hunter Rank 100, finishing 100 Multiplayer Quests, finishing 100 Quests with your Palico deployed, capturing 50 Monsters, hunting 50 Apex Predators.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide A True Hunter Is Never Satisfied
Completed 50 quests.
Bronze
Simply complete any 50 assignments (main quests) / optional quests (side quests) / field surveys / investigations. Each of these will count as a quest. You can accept quests from Alma (Quest Counter) or simply attack a monster in the open world until it triggers a hunt quest. You will get this naturally while playing through the 6 chapters of the main story.

You can keep track of this in your hunter profile by pressing :opt: > Info > Hunter Profile > :r1: (x2) > Quest Completion Count.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Let the Investigations Begin!
Completed your first investigation.
Bronze
While in the open world press Touchpad and then :square: -> this will show you all available monsters on the map. Choose one with :x: and you will be given an option to either start a fight immediately or to save the monster as an investigation for later. Choose the second option and you will be able to hunt the monster by choosing “Investigations” while picking a quest at Alma (Quest Counter). Finish one of your saved investigations for the trophy.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide The Hunt Is On!
Completed your first Field Survey.
Bronze
Press Touchpad and then :square: > choose a monster and “Start a Field Survey” option to fight it, or simply start beating it up until the survey automatically starts. Finish the monster afterward. Field surveys will be your biggest time sink in the game so you are very much guaranteed to obtain this trophy.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide A Step Toward Mutual Understanding
Completed your first side mission.
Bronze
See next trophy below.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide East to West, A Hunter Never Rests
Completed 30 different side missions.
Silver
There are more than 30 side missions in the game, so you can pick and choose which ones you want to do. You unlock them either by progressing the story, reaching a certain hunter rank or finishing the previous side missions given to you. Side Missions will be marked by yellow icons above people’s heads.

The “hunt specific monster” side missions are self-explanatory, after accepting these you simply talk to Alma (Quest Counter) and pick the Optional Quest with a yellow icon on it.

Some of them, however, are a bit trickier and require you to capture a specific endemic life or fish. Below you can find all the tricky ones:

  1. Vigorwasp (Healing Help)
  2. Flashflies (Flash Course)
  3. Giant Vigorwasp (A Gutsy Move)
  4. Goldenfish (Seeking the Goldenfish)
  5. Gravid Bowfin (Fishing for Flavor)
  6. Whopper (The Catch of a Lifetime!)
  7. Grand Escunite (Razzle Dazzle)
  8. Tracktail Lizard (Dareel’s Research Report)
  9. Dapperwing (Samin’s Research Report)
  10. Ember Rufflizard (Dareel’s Research Report Continued)
  11. Rime Beetle (Samin’s Research Report Continued)
  12. Gillopod (Dareel’s Special Research Report)
  13. Sandstar (Samin’s Special Research Report)
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Angling for a Bite
Successfully fished for the first time.
Bronze
You will unlock fishing by talking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp and following her questline.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Mmm, So Tasty!
Successfully cooked a well-done steak for the first time.
Bronze
Equip the BBQ Grill and choose “grill meat” (must have raw meat in inventory, looted from small monsters). Once you start cooking the meat you have to wait until your hunter turns it around once and then wait a few more seconds until it turns gold/brown and press :x: . Afterward you can cut the steak 5 times and if you manage to press :x: in a good rhythm each time, it will grant you bonus steaks.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Was It a Meal to Remember?
Cooked over the BBQ Grill for the first time.
Bronze
Enter your tent at any base game, click on BBQ Menu > Grill a Meal. Cook any meal to earn the trophy. You can also select the BBQ Grill from the item wheel.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide The Bigger They Are…
Successfully mounted a monster for the first time.
Bronze
You must jump onto a large monster’s back to mount it. This is easiest done by riding on your own mount (Seikret), press :x: to jump off, land on the back of the large monster. While you latch on to its back you can attack it with the dagger. The trophy pops after you dismount the large monster. Odds are this will come naturally early on without trying.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Hunter-Assassin
Performed your first successful Sneak Attack.
Bronze
Either sneak up on an unaware monster (press :x: to crouch while standing still), or put on the Ghillie Mantle to be invisible for a while. Get close to the monster and you will see a button prompt to press :circle: .
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Hit ‘Em Where It Hurts!
Landed 50 successful attacks on weak points or wounds in Focus Mode.
Bronze
When a monster has a wound you will see a red dot on its body (of blue for some tempered monster wounds) then activate the Focus Mode with :l1: and attack the wound until it breaks. Do this repeatedly across different monsters until the trophy unlocks. This should come naturally over time.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide A Prize Held High
Caught a creature that bears an ancient wyvern coin.
Silver

This requires catching a “Curioshell Crab” with your Capture Net. It looks like a small golden-glowing crab that sits on the ground. You can find this creature on every map. An easy spot is in Scarlet Forest. There is a camp between Areas 2 and 6, the camp is called “Area 6: Flowering Rocks”. In front of the campsite is a small puddle of water where the crab often appears. When going near it, Alma will say “is that creature holding something?”.

Remember that endemics don’t have a 100% guaranteed spawn rate. They have fixed places where they can spawn but won’t be there every single time. If it isn’t there for you, fast travel to another map to respawn all endemics and come back, rinse and repeat. You can make a popup camp at Area 6: Flowering Rocks to quickly travel back and forth to this location.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide I Caught a Shooting Star!
Caught a creature in the desert that shines like a shooting star.
Silver

At night in Area 13 of Windward Plains you can sometimes spot a blue shining mouse. This is the Sandstar. You have to chase it on your Seikret (your mount) and catch it with your Capture Net. It is extremely fast and it is a bit luck-based if you can catch it. Sometimes it just stops for a short moment giving you a chance. After it stops, it sometimes runs back in your direction, if you throw the capture net you can catch it. Sometimes it will stumble on the ground for a few seconds. Sometimes it runs into other monsters and gets stunned which makes it easy to catch. It can take a few minutes of chasing it around.

You can rest at the portable BBQ Grill or in your tent to change the time to “Nighttime” and environment to “Plenty”. Remember that endemics don’t have a 100% guaranteed spawn rate. They have fixed places where they can spawn but won’t be there every single time. If it isn’t there for you, fast travel to another map to respawn all endemics and come back, rinse and repeat. You can make a popup camp at Area 13: Oasis to quickly travel back and forth to this location.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Monster (Squid) Hunter
Caught a giant squid while fishing.
Bronze

First, you will need to play through Kanya’s questline to get the “Tentacle Jig” bait for your Fishing Rod. Kanya is found at Scarlet Forest Basecamp, she will be marked with a yellow side mission marker. She will give the following quests: “Fishing: Life, in Microcosm” (catch any fish) > “Seeking the Goldenfish” > “Fishing for Favor” > “The Catch of a Lifetime!” > “Razzle Dazzle“.

This requires catching various other fish first, refer to the linked quests for help. At the start of her final mission Razzle Dazzle, she will give you the “Tentacle Jig”. You must equip the Fishing Rod and press :triangle: / :x: to switch to this bait.

Now you must catch a Goliath Squid to unlock the trophy. Goliath Squid is in Scarlet Forest, in the huge lake in Area 17, during “Downpour” weather. You can rest at the portable BBQ Grill or in your tent to change the environment to “Inclemency”, this will make it rain (gives “Downpour” weather effect). You will have to win the reeling minigame, but at least the Goliath does not jump, making it an easier catch. You will need to move the left stick in the same direction the squid is swimming in. When the squid gets tired, repeatedly press :l-up: :l-down: to reel it in. Try to reel it in 3-4 times while it’s tired, flipping the stick up/down each time. The more often you do this the closer the fish will get to the shore until you eventually pull it out of the water, thus unlocking the trophy.

Remember that endemics/fishes don’t have a 100% guaranteed spawn rate. They have fixed places where they can spawn but won’t be there every single time. If it isn’t there for you, fast travel to another map to respawn all endemics and come back, rinse and repeat. You can make a popup camp at Area 17: Great Lake Shore (on the tree overlooking the lake). Giant Squid are recognized by their big shell that glows slightly blue.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide A-fish-ionado
Reeled in 30 whoppers while fishing.
Bronze
Follow Kanya’s questline (Scarlet Forest Base Camp) for fishing and you will at one point be taught what whoppers are. Whoppers are big fish that require finishing a reeling minigame to catch them. You have to press the same direction they are going all the time and once they jump you have to hold the direction their head is facing (either left, right or up) followed by :r2: to calm them down. Once a fish stops, spam up and down on your analog stick to reel it in. When it starts moving again, follow its movement again. Best place to find Whoppers is Area 17 of Scarlet Forest in the deep side of the lake opposite the waterfall, as well as Area 13 of Scarlet Forest. Depending on the fish you will have to use one of the following baits, all of which are obtained from Kanya’s quests (“Fishing: Life, in Microcosm” (catch any fish) > “Seeking the Goldenfish” > “Fishing for Favor” > “The Catch of a Lifetime!” > “Razzle Dazzle“):

  • Tentacle Jig: used for Goliath Squid
  • Duster Rig: used for Gajau (a huge fish with spikes which often appears in the Area 17 lake)
  • Tuff Joint Baint: used for every other Whopper
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Campmaster
Established Pop-up Camps in 10 places.
Bronze
While exploring each map you will run into places to establish pop-up camps. There are way more than 10 camp locations in the game. Once you have found a place you can either place the camp yourself by using the Camp Tool or talk to the Palico in the Base Camp to do it for you.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Glamper
Customized a Pop-up Camp for the first time.
Bronze
You unlock the ability to customize your Pop-Up Camps during Chapter 1. Then you can talk to any Support Desk Palico at your base camps, choose “I’d like to request support” > “Edit Pop-up Camps” > choose your camp, edit any color, exit and save to earn the trophy.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide A Keen-eyed Observation
Used the binoculars to spot a gold-crown large monster.
Bronze
Equip your binoculars and look at monsters. If it is a large crown size you will receive the trophy immediately, no need to fight the monster. You will be using this method of measurement for every crown anyway. It won’t unlock on monsters with miniature gold crowns, only on large gold crowns.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Ride-or-die Companion
Customized your Seikret or changed its decorations for the first time.
Bronze
You unlock the ability to customize your Seikret (mount) during Chapter 1. Then you can enter your tent > Appearance Menu > Seikret Customization. Change any color, exit the menu and save to earn the trophy.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Established Hunter
Reached Hunter Rank 100.
Bronze
Your Hunter Rank increases every time you defeat a large monster or finish a quest. On your way to Hunter Rank 100 you will face mutliple progress-checks which will require you to finish a specific hunt (selected from Alma’s Quest Counter) before you can continue to level up.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Impregnable Defense
Forged five different pieces of armor with Rarity 7 or higher.
Bronze
Visit Gemma the smithy at any basecamp and craft 5 different armor pieces with Rarity 7 or higher. As you progress through the story you gradually get access to higher rarity armors and materials. You get the materials from hunting monsters and from collecting bones & ores.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Power Is Everything
Forged five different weapons with Rarity 7 or higher.
Bronze
Visit Gemma the smithy at any basecamp and craft 5 different weapons with Rarity 7 or higher. As you progress through the story you gradually get access to higher rarity weapons and materials. You get the materials from hunting monsters and from collecting bones & ores.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Someone Worth Following
Completed 100 quests with your Palico deployed.
Bronze
Playing alone or with just one other player will have the Palico deployed with you by default. Simply finish 100 quests with your Palico by your side. Palico is extremely strong as a companion since he can heal, buff, revive, and distract monsters (when you level up enough). Every hunt will count as a quest towards this. Avoid using the SOS flare as this calls other AI hunters that replace your Palico. Of course for harder quests feel free to use SOS flares, then do easy quests with your Palico only after getting better equipment to make it easier. Later in the story your Palico also offers side missions that unlock new Palico abilities, thus also making it easier.
Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide A Legacy Restored
Obtained an Artian Weapon of Rarity 8.
Silver
Artian Weapons become available after Chapter 4-3: Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns. You can then craft them at Gemma the smithy, found at every Basecamp.

Rarity 8 parts are only dropped by Tempered versions of the following monsters:

  • Rey Dau
  • Uth Duna
  • Nu Udra
  • Jin Dahaad
  • Gore Magala
  • Arkveld

You can also meld them at the Melder in Suja. If made correctly, those can turn into the strongest weapons in the game so you might not want to rush the trophy until you have parts that synergize with each other. For example: for a bow you might want to wait until you have one device and 2 tubes that are of the same element and all have an affinity bonus. The more parts are of the same element, the stronger the elemental attack of the weapon will become.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Bourgeois Hunter
Possessed 1,000,000 zenny.
Bronze
Hold 1 million zenny (money) at the same time. You should get this naturally on your way to Hunter Rank 100 and while working on the Gold/Minature Crowns. Later on you get large amounts of money per hunt.

You can also sell items in your tent from the “View/Sell Items” menu. This gives large amounts of money too.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Explorer of the Eastlands
Obtained 10 different special items of Rarity 6.
Bronze
In your camp you can go to the View/Sell Items and then go to Special Items/Other category in your Item Box to view Special Items. They all have a Rarity rating. You need to find 10 DIFFERENT items with a Rarity of 6, having the same item multiple times does not count.

1. Large Goldenscale Vase – you will receive this one from Alma while completing her side missions.

2. Queensbloom Pollen – Scarlet Forest map, you can sometimes find a plant called “Queen Rafflesia” (pink “?” question mark icon on map). You can press Touchpad to open the map, then press :right: once to choose “filter icons” and scroll down until you find the “Queen Rafflesia”, highlight it to have it marked on your map. Loot it for Queensbloom Pollen item. It’s not always there, low spawnrate. It spawned for me at Nighttime/Plenty. Can rest at BBQ grill to skip time until it spawns or simply stand at the base camp in Scarlet Forest and check the map from time to time.

3. Nightflower Pollen – Scarlet Forest or Windward Plains, gathered from the plant called “Ephemeral Blossom” (purple “?” question mark icon on map). You can mark it just like the previous one with the filter option on the map. Spawned for me at Daytime/Downpour and Daytime/Fallow. Low spawnrate, can rest at BBQ grill to skip time until it spawns or simply stand at the base camp in Scarlet Forest and check the map from time to time.

Items 4-10 are all available during Emergences. In the Environment Overview you will sometimes see that an Emergence is happening, that means you can grab one of the Rarity 6 items from the map when an Emergence takes place. You can see in the Overview exactly when it will happen so you just have to check on this periodically. You can press :r3: on the Emergence and it will mark the item on the map for you.

4. Time-honed Wylk Gem – Wylky Crystal Outcrop Emergence

5. Genesis Opal – Magnificent Fossil Emergence

6. Great Windward Aloe – Great Windward Aloe Emergence

7. Thundering Fulgurite – Thundering Fulgurite Emergence

8. Eternal Scarlet Ember – Eternal Scarlet Emergence

9. Bulky Treasure – Bountiful Treasure Emergence

10. Antimite Mass – Giant Hopper Crystal Emergence

Here’s an image of what emergences look like in the map overview:

What’s confirmed for the trophy is to own 10 different ones at the same time (unconfirmed if it counts if you sold/traded them). So better to be safe and hang on to these items.

» Monster Hunter Wilds All Monsters List

In previous titles the crown hunt was notoriously long and grindy. This time it’s much faster than it was in Monster Hunter World and Rise.Time-Savers:

  1. Use Binoculars to see Crown Sizes: With the binoculars get close to a monster (about 50 meters) and watch it. A crown will show up under its name if the monster is big or small enough for a crown. This way you know upfront if a monster is worth fighting.
  2. When you find a monster that awards a crown you can press Touchpad and then :square: to open up the monster list and press :x: on the crown-awarding monster, which will let you save it as an investigation for later. This turns a long grind into a matter of hours.
  3. You can quickly change the monsters freeroaming the map: At your portable BBQ you can choose to REST and then choose the weather and time of the day for a map. This will reload all the monsters available on all maps if you don’t see any you still need.
  4. 5. Cruise between online lobbies: You can also keep cruising between online lobbies to see if one has a crown you need and hunt the monster there.

You will get your first Large Gold Crown automatically in Low Rank by fighting the Alpha Doshaguma. This crown is scripted and it is actually very common to encounter the Alpha Doshaguma as a gold crown. All the other crowns, however, have to be done in High Rank.

Monster Hunter Wilds Trophy Guide Capture Pro
Captured 50 monsters.

Once you beat up a monster enough, you will see a skull next to its icon on your mini-map. This means it is ready to capture. In order to capture a monster you will have to place either a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap and have a monster run into it. Once a monster is trapped for a few seconds you have to tranquilize it with 2 Tranq Bomb to capture it. Also see How to Capture Monsters.

Traps & Tranq Bombs can be crafted from the crafting menu in your tent:

  • Pitfall Trap -> Trap Tool + Net
  • Shock Trap -> Trap Tool + Thunderbug Capacitor
  • Tranq Bomb -> Sleep Herb + Parashroom

All the ingredients needed can be easily obtained by asking the village people to collect those items for you. The only items you need to buy is Trap Tool which you can buy in any camp from the provisions stockpile.

Note that some monsters are immune to either Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap.

Monsters Immune to Shock Trap:

  • Rey Dau
  • Zoh Shia
  • Gypceros

Monsters Immune to Pitfall Trap:

  • Jin Dahaad
  • Zoh Shia

The story is heavily solo and a huge PITA to co-op with friends for it. Wouldn’t even mind the trophy if the co-op wasn’t a 20 minute mini game every time a cutscene or anything happens. Saved me $230 for the wife and kids copies. ????

Complete newcomer to the series. To be clear, is Step 2 and the roadmap entirely presuming you use investigations and share them? Or can you use the save scum method entirely solo and likely come in at a sort of similar time? Apologies if its a stupid question.

Crown sharing requires a 2nd player online who has already found the crowns and saved the investigation. The save scum method works solo, but it’s impossible to say how long it would take as crown spawns are 100% luck based. You might find some crown monsters first try, and sometimes might try for 3 hours without finding it.

Yes, there is the typical Low-Rank & High-Rank system. You unlock High-Rank automatically during the story.

Using the binoculars to determine if a monsters crown size is a game changer, i might actually 100% a Monster Hunter game.

Yep this was my first Platinum trophy on Monster Hunter series, I gave up on Monster Hunter World because the crowns for it took too long to get it, but I’m really glad that they made it easier to find crowns in Wilds with binoculars and saving it as investigation. Save-scum works great as well.

Can you give me a recommendation on which armor and weapon to craft during my playthrough (Low-Rank and High-Rank) ? Which gear do you think is worth it?

Why would you want to not test and check that out for yourself?

There is no all time best gear or setup, just learn and adept.
These games are not that hard ( until some crazy DLC drops )

    • Fooga says

      March 4, 2025 at 3:19 am

The bow and gun lance are considered some of the highest dps, but you’ll need to take the time to learn the best combos. Plenty of YouTube guides on how to do that.

This game is much easier than Worlds or Rise though so just play what you like.

Can the story be played in co-op with friends? Is a certain progress in the story needed to be able to play in co-op? Shared story progress or host-only? Do all story trophies unlock for all players in the party? Can you group up with friends and play through the story missions back to back or would you have to fire a SOS flare for each mission?

    Thanks in advance :=)

      1. Yes, you can play through story missions with friends, but only during the actual monster fights. During cutscenes and travel, players will be in their own solo game.

      2. You only need to advance far enough to set up your camp to unlock multiplayer. There will be an in-game notification for when you can join lobbies or make a private one.

      3. Progress is made in the story even for non-host hunters.

      4. When my brother and I completed a story mission together that earned a trophy, we both got it.

      5. After a monster is slain, all of your fellow team members will be taken back to camp in their own games. You can form a Link Party that will automatically invite anyone within it to your game as soon as you strike a giant monster, assuming they are on/have completed the story mission you’re on. You will also receive invites if they begin a fight. But no player stays within another’s game permanently. That said, you will still be able to see each other in the base camps. They will simple vanish from sight upon leaving the camp. Also, SOS is still a thing. You can use it to call on random players or AI hunters to help you.

All of these answers are based on my experience with the first 6 hours or so of the game launching.

If i save an expedition that contains a Monster with a Crown, is the expedition “farmable”? As in, can i take friend A one day and Friend B on the same Savev Expedition another day? Or does the expedition save expire as you complete them?

If you found a gold small crown or large crown from binocular and save it as investigation, the investigation quest can be repeatable 3 times before it expires. But be careful if you fail the quest due to 3 faints or withdrawing the quest (as a quest host) it will lose 1 attempt and the crowns will be not recorded until you either kill it or capture it.

Talk to the people with yellow markers on each map, some gather materials for you. Later you can talk to the kid at your base camps and he gives you all the materials everyone gathered across all regions so you don’t need to visit them individually. You can request specific items to be gathered or just let them gather random materials for you.

Regarding the 100 multiplayer quests + 100 quests with your Palico deployed it’s worthwhile to add, that you can configure your multiplayer options in a way, that only 2 player lobbies are allowed. So you can request SOS everytime and only one other player can join.

I have an extremely easy way to catch the Shooting Star sand mouse.

If you hit a Screamer Pod near it, it will get stunned and you can walk up and capture net it. The Baunos nearby have echo feathers you can grab with your hook slinger. Then it’s extremely simple by just hitting the screamer pod near it, equipping your net, and capture! :D

Please write an update to the “Explorer of the Highlands” trophy. After today’s patch, Capcom made it impossible to get “Nightflower Pollen”. Instead, you can add “Krano Pyrite” as the 11th Item, which can be obtained by killing Kranodath (small monster). There is an optional 4* quest for it “Hard head” or something like that. Best regards 🙂
