Monster Hunter Wilds Rime Beetle Location (Samin’s Research Report Continued Side Mission)

February 26, 2025 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Rime Beetle is an endemic lifeform in Monster Hunter Wilds, required for Samin’s Research Report Continued side mission. After accepting the Samin’s Research Report Continued side mission you must catch a Rime Beetle using the Capture Net, then return to the quest giver.

Samin’s Research Report Continued Side Mission Start:

Samin’s Research Report (Cont.) side quest starts by talking to Samin in Windward Plains Base Camp. It’s part of the Dareel/Samin questline to catch various endemics.

Rime Beetle Location:

Rime Beetle can be found in Iceshard Cliffs. They are small beetles pushing snowballs. You can have them marked for you on the map by filtering for them: open the map, press D-Pad Right > Filter Icons (white herb icon) > scroll down to Rime Beetle (blue icon). They are usually around during Plenty weather. You can put a marker on them by pressing the Right Stick, then your Seikret (mount) will automatically lead you to it. If none show up in the Filter Icons section, rest at the BBQ grill to advance time or travel to another map and come back.

Remember that endemics/fishes don’t have a 100% guaranteed spawn rate. They have fixed places where they can spawn but won’t be there every single time. If the endemic isn’t there for you, fast travel to another map and come back, this will respawn all endemics. Repeat this until you find the endemic in the suggested location. You can also rest at the portable BBQ Grill or in your tent to skip to a different daytime and weather effect, this also respawns everything but costs 300 guild points.
