Monster Hunter Wilds How to Increase Health & Stamina

February 26, 2025 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

By default, your health and stamina bars in Monster Hunter Wilds are rather small.

Here are all the ways how to increase your life bar and stamina:

Method 1: Eat a meal
This is the main way to buff your health/stamina. The effect runs out after a while and then you must eat again. Either use the cooking menu in your tent or use the portable BBQ Grill from your inventory to cook anywhere.

  • You can also get ingredients from delivery quests for other people. So don’t just sell all the items you find, keep them for delivery quests later. They have a yellow exclamation mark over their head.
  • You can unlock better ingredients from some optional side missions as rewards.
  • Well-done steak restores health and stamina and boosts both their gauges. To cook well-done meat, equip the BBQ Grill and choose “grill meat” (must have raw meat in inventory, looted from small monsters). Once you start cooking the meat you have to wait until your hunter turns it around once and then wait a few more seconds until it turns gold/brown and press X (PS5) / A (Xbox). Afterward you can cut the steak 5 times and if you manage to press X (PS5) / A (Xbox) in a good rhythm each time, it will grant you bonus steaks.

Method 2: Use potions

  • The Max Potion temporarily maximizes your health gauge. It’s crafted by combining Catalyst + Mandragora.
  • Ancient Potion is the best, it temporarily maximizes both your health and stamina gauges. It’s crafted by combining Immunizer + Nourishing Extract.

There is no way to increase your health permanently (only temporarily with meals/potions). Your health bar does not increase when you rank up, it remains fixed throughout the entire game. Rather than increasing health you’ll want to increase your defense stats by crafting better armor pieces.
