Goldenfish is an endemic lifeform in Monster Hunter Wilds, required for the Seeking the Goldenfish side mission. After accepting the Seeking the Goldenfish side mission you must catch a Goldenfish using the Capture Net, then return to the quest giver.
Seeking the Goldenfish Side Mission Start:
Seeking the Goldenfish side quest starts by talking to Kanya in Scarlet Forest Base Camp. This is her second quest after “Fishing: Life, in Microcosm” which simply requires catching any fish.
Goldenfish Location:
Goldenfish can be found in Scarlet Forest – Area 6 – at the fishing spot at Camp 6: Flowering Rocks – confirmed during “Fallow” weather condition. It’s best caught with the baits “Golden Bughead” and “Common Wood Minnow”, which you get automatically from Kanya at the start of this quest.
Remember that endemics/fishes don’t have a 100% guaranteed spawn rate. They have fixed places where they can spawn but won’t be there every single time. If the endemic isn’t there for you, fast travel to another map and come back, this will respawn all endemics. Repeat this until you find the endemic in the suggested location. You can also rest at the portable BBQ Grill or in your tent to skip to a different daytime and weather effect, this also respawns everything but costs 300 guild points.
