Monster Hunter Wilds has 40 Camp Locations across 5 maps in total. Camps are used for fast travel and as respawn points when you faint.
When you find a campsite you can either use your camping kit, or you can talk to the Support Desk Palico at Basecamps and click “Manage Pop-Up Camps” to buy the camp. This costs Research Points, which you get for every successful hunt.
The safety level of a campsite determines how likely it is to be destroyed by monsters. These come in 3 grades: Safe, Insecure, Dangerous. The riskier campsites will occasionally get destroyed, then your Palico friends will automatically rebuild them over time.
There’s a limit to how many campsites you can have active. More slots become available through quest completion.
