Monster Hunter Wilds All Bones Locations (Bonepiles)

February 26, 2025 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

This page shows the Bone Locations in Monster Hunter Wilds. Bones are gathered from Bonepiles across all regions. They are used for crafting various weapons and armor pieces. There are multiple types of Bones.

All bonepiles are marked on the map by a yellow question-mark icon. The full map and all icons are fully unfogged from the start. You can filter for these icons on the map: open the map and press D-Pad Right, click “Filter Icons” (herb icon), then press Triangle/Y to filter for “Gathering” icons. You can then scroll down the list to “Bonepile” and use D-Pad Left/Right to jump between the icons. Put a waypoint on it with R3/Right Stick, mount your Seikret and it will bring you there automatically.

Even though these are marked, it’s still good to know what region gives what types of Bones. This depends on the region, for example Frozen Icebone is only obtained in Iceshard Cliffs. Each Bonepile can be looted 3 times in a row, but it’s random which of the region-specific bone you get from it. Some are rarer than others. Any Bonepile in a region can give any of that region’s bones types.

When farming Bones, equip the Geologist Skill, then you get an extra item when gathering from Bonepiles. The Geologist skill comes from armor pieces that have this skill, or slotting the Geology Jewel decoration into armor. You can stay mounted on your Seikret and just mark the bonepiles on the map, have the Seikret carry you there, loot the bonepile, rinse and repeat. Then fast travel to another map to make everything respawn and come back. Sometimes additional bonepiles will spawn if there’s an upsurge in a region, which is listed in the environment overview on the map.

Note that the available bones differ between Low-Rank and High-Rank environments. After reaching High-Rank some new bones can be gathered. Low-Rank exclusive bones can still be gathered by replaying low-rank Optional Quests, particularly to gather Mystery Bone.
