Monster Hunter Iceborne All Ore Locations List

September 5, 2019 by PowerPyx 8 Comments

The Monster Hunter World Iceborne expansion introduces many new ore locations on new maps and areas. This guide shows all MHW Iceborne Mining Outcrop locations and which ores can be found on each map on the new Master Rank difficulty.

As you know from the main game, ore is obtained from mining outcrops. Each outcrop gives you 3 pieces of ore. Every map has specific types of ore tied to it. Every outcrop can give you any of the available ore on that map. Ore is mostly used for crafting but can also be redeemed at the Steamworks in Seliana for fuel. To mine one of the ore deposits, press :o: or :b: . You can do this 3 times in a row for more ore.

Red and Blue ore outcrops will drop different types of ore! Both colors are available on Master Rank difficulty. The maps below show red ore in a red circle and blue ore in a blue circle. You can also revisit old maps from the main game and they will give you new ore on Master Rank difficulty.

Here are pictures of what an ore deposit looks like in-game:

There are new mining locations that are not on this list. For example there are 3 blue mining spots just outside of the Central Camp, not 2. There are also more than 2 inside the area where Diablos sleeps.
I didn’t notice it myself until I did my usual mining run in Wildspire Waste today after Iceborn came out.
I wouldn’t doubt the other maps have new locations as well.

Was it during one of the mining upsurges? Sometimes the maps have modifiers and more outcrops spawn.
For old maps I imported the previously made maps from my MHW main game wiki. Can confirm the old locations are still there in master rank, but it’s possible there are a few extra (or it was just from the upsurge modifier is another possibility).

Within the wildspire waste area are some additional gathering points. Tried to post a picture with the locations but I cannot seem to post it on here.
Directions are based on the map layout.

In area 8 you can sometimes find an additional Bonepile slightly left of the lower mining spot (where the ants make a little loop on the hill).
You can also find another mining deposit in area 9 on your right (within the small passage) after entering from area 8 from the south.
Lastly, in area 9 may spawn an additional Bonepile on the lower level near some scatternuts on the ground (next to the climable wall with 2 grapevines to climb upon).

    Hope this is helpful!
