Metro Exodus Taiga Collectible Locations (Diaries & Post Cards)

The Taiga is the 8th Chapter in Metro Exodus and contains 23 Collectible Locations (8 Diary Pages, 5 Postcards). This walkthrough will guide you to all collectibles in Taiga. If you missed any you can them it via chapter select.

All collectibles for this chapter are listed in chronological order as accurately as possible. This level is more linear than the previous larger levels and most of the locations cannot be revisited, so it’s suggested to collect them in the order listed in the guide.

Postcard #1
At the start of the level after collecting the crossbow go right and enter the cabin ahead, in the back room there is ‘Postcard 15’ on a mirror just above the dresser.

Diary #1
Go back to the statue where you got the crossbow and go straight ahead to the open wooden gate, a bolt will be fired in to the left side as you approach which holds the diary ‘Note on a crossbow bolt’.

Diary#2
Right after the large statue you destroy for the ‘Decommunization‘ trophy, enter the blue classroom on your right and find the diary ‘Unsent Letter’ directly ahead on a desk.

Postcard #2
Leave the classroom and drop down the bridge where the pirates appear and warn you, keep left and go through a hole in the fence in to another building, ‘Postcard 16’ is just ahead on the right side of a bookcase next to a corpse.

Diary#3
Go back to the ruined bridge and go across it this time, hang right and enter another classroom in the pirate camp, the diary ‘Little Kid’s Note’ is on a drawer in the right hand side room next to a teddy bear.

Diary #4
In the same pirate camp you will see a tower that you have to climb, at the top of this tower you will find the diary ‘Solemn Oath’ on a crate next to the zipline.

Diary #5
After riding the zipline and seeing the bear chase away a pack of wolves, follow the main path hanging left until you come to a tree house, climb in to it to find the diary ‘Dusty Diary’ on a crate by the fire.

Diary #6
Turn around and go across the bridge and use the zipline, proceed forward and find the diary ‘Alchemist’s Log’ in a small hut on a bed.

Diary #7
Take the nearby zipline above back to the treehouse, climb down and proceed slightly further down the main path but hang right to the shoreline and you’ll see a hut, go inside to find the diary ‘Lost Diary’ directly ahead.

Diary #8
Run directly opposite from the previously mentioned hut back across the path and you’ll come up to a small opening in a cliff that leads to the room with the diary ‘Dusty Notebook’ in plain sight.

Diary #9
After you get your gear back and hide under a tree until some guards walk by, proceed further forward and then turn left until you see a wooden lodge, you’ll find the diary ‘Calligraphic Note’ inside.

Diary #10
After entering the main bandit camp via the zipline or cave, you will see a large lodge on the ground on the right side of the camp, the diary ‘Scribbled Note’ is inside on the long table by the candle.

Diary #11
Upon leaving the camp using the zipline you’ll come to a cave ahead on the right. The diary ‘Worn-Out Letter’ is on your immediate right as you enter.

Diary #12
Further in to the cave you will run directly in to a corpse in plain sight with the diary ‘Crumpled Note’ next to it.

Postcard #3
Once you come out of the cave you will be in a bandit camp, you can find ‘Postcard 17’ in a house to the left of the digger, on a wall to the left of kneeling bandit.

Diary #13
Go past the digger then forward and out of the camp, turn right run towards the end of the path until you come across a table by the dock where you can find the diary ‘Dirty Diary’.

Diary #14
Backtrack through the enemy camp until you are in front of the gates you have to squeeze through to the graveyard, the location is below on the map if you can’t find it. The diary ‘Hunter’s Note’ is just to the right of the gate next to a corpse.

Diary #15
After meeting with Olga and climbing down the ladder, proceed to the swamp camp along the main path and you will come across a small hut with a zipline, you will find the diary ‘Weathered Note’ here (screenshot taken after I collected it).

Diary #16
After taking the boat in the first section of the swamp camp, get off when you are able to below where you have to pull the lever and enter the room on your left, you’ll find the diary ‘Folded Note’ on a table as you enter.

Postcard #18
When you enter the room with the Admiral as part of the story, you’ll find ‘Postcard 18’ on the right.

Diary #17
After turning on the power in the building filled with spiders, go through the red doors and there will be a corpse on the ground just ahead with the diary ‘Blood-Soaked Letter’.

Diary #18
Upon leaving the building and reuniting with Alyosha, go forward in the ruined village and enter the 2nd house on the right, you will the diary ‘Unfinished Letter’ straight ahead on a table.

Postcard #19
Immediately after the previous collectible, enter the small room on your left and turn around to find ‘Postcard 19’ on the right.
