Introduction
Welcome to the Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) PS4 Trophy Guide! Developed by Insomniac Games – the makers of Spyro the Dragon, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank – and published by Sony exclusively on PS4, this Spider-Man game will make trophy hunters happy with a list of unmissable and fairly easy trophies. The entire list is completion-based. One portion of the trophies is for completing the story, the other portion for doing all side missions and collectibles. Everything is marked on the map so you won’t be needing a collectible guide this time. The way it works is that you go to Radio Towers, and activating them reveals all collectibles in the surrounding areas. More collectible types and suits become available gradually as you progress the story. If something is locked it means you need to play more of the story. After the story you can free-roam around the map to do anything you still need, thus nothing is missable. You can tackle the trophies in any order you like so the below Roadmap is just what I did but you can mix things up and work on collectibles as you play, if you want.
Step 1: Play through the Story (8-10h), don’t spend any Challenge Tokens & Base Tokens yet
Just enjoy the game any way you see fit. Nothing is missable and you can do everything in whatever order you like. After the story there’s still free-roam to mop up what you need. Focusing on nothing but the story, a playthrough will last 8-10 hours. It doesn’t matter what difficulty you pick, you can do it all on easy if you wish. There are no difficulty-related trophies.
The reason you should focus on story first is that many of the collectibles and suits are locked behind story progress. To make sure you have access to everything and reduce the running-around-the-map, it’s best to unlock all collectible types first (via story progress) and then clear them out district by district. Everything that is locked is tied to Story Progress, Side Missions and Collectibles. Use the Radio Towers that are marked on the map by default to reveal all Collectible Locations.
Warning: don’t spend your challenge Tokens & Base Tokens yet! Keep them all until after the story! Then you can make a manual save > buy 15 upgrades > reload save to get tokens back > buy all suits.
This is important because you can only get a maximum of 6 tokens per challenge but that would require you to perform really well and get a gold rating. To get all trophies you only need 1-3 Tokens per challenge, if you don’t waste any (bronze or silver rating does suffice). That means you can get away with mediocre scores. If you were to overspend your Tokens on stuff you don’t need, then you’d have to go the extra mile and get perfect scores on each challenge for more tokens, which will ramp up the platinum difficulty significantly.
Step 2: Side Missions & Collectibles (15h)
Most of your time will go into the collectible cleanup. There are 358 Collectibles spread across 15 categories. Refer to the trophy “I Heart Manhattan” for more info on all of them. They all get marked on the map when you use the radio towers (which are shown on the map by default).
Now that you’re done with the story you will have access to everything. You might still be missing the collectible type “Pigeons” which you unlock from Side Mission “Helping Howard” in Chinatown. The best way is to do all side missions first and then the collectibles, that’s because you get extra gadgets and the aforementioned collectible type from the side missions.
Lastly, do all of the collectibles in all districts. You must achieve 100% completion in all districts, that means all Crimes too. The crimes pop up every 300-1000 meters traveled within a district. They are randomly generated, meaning they don’t have fixed positions and will always spawn near you. There are 4 types: Thugs, Demons, Prisoners, Sable — the good news is that you won’t get repeats of the same type once you’ve completed all in the district. Then only events of the remaining types will spawn. After clearing all crimes in a district they will keep spawning infinitely in case you need more Crime Tokens.
As you do the collectibles, aim to get silver in all challenges (=3 Challenge Tokens) and do all tasks in the Bases (=3 Base Tokens). For crimes aim to complete at least 1 requirement (=2 Crime Tokens). These 3 types of tokens are affected by your performance.
Step 3: Miscellaneous Trophies
There are 5 miscellaneous trophies: paying respect at Ben Parker’s Grave, performing 4 air tricks, climbing atop the Avengers Tower, knock 10 pairs of enemies together with trip mines, complete all optional projects in the lab.
Those are the only things you may not have gotten through natural progression yet. They are all very quick to do in a matter of minutes. Refer to the trophy guide below for their specifics and the Spider-Man Platinum will be yours.

Superior Spider-Man Unlock all Skills |
||
To unlock all skills (33 total) you must reach Character Level 50, which is the maximum level in the game. You gain Skill Points with each level up. Only when reaching Level 50 you will have enough to buy everything. This will happen automatically on your way to 100% completion for the “I Heart Manhattan” trophy. You will reach the maximum level quite a bit before then. If you want to speed this up, buy the Suit Mod “Combat Analyser”, it gives you bonus XP for combat takedowns. It’s one of the cheapest early-game mods and one of the best to pick (this is totally optional, I didn’t use the mod and got to Level 50 long before reaching 100% completion). Skills are acquired from the Skills Menu.
I Heart Manhattan 100% complete all districts |
||
First, you will have to finish the story in order to get access to all types of collectibles. Most collectible types are locked at the start and will become available gradually as you progress through the story. After the story you can access everything.
To get 100% completion you must do all side missions and collectibles in each district. They all get marked on the map automatically when you use the Surveillance Towers. These Towers are marked on the map by default after the first few missions. Therefore, no collectible guide is needed. Simply use the towers to reveal all collectibles. You can still grab everything after the story in free-roam. Nothing is missable.
Collectible Types Explained: = 55 Backpacks: Go near them and press to pick them up. |
||
Master of Masters Defeat Taskmaster |
||
After finishing all 16 Taskmaster Challenges, he will show up and fight you. You don’t need to reach gold in any of the challenges, just the bare minimum score for bronze. Challenges are a late-game unlock, they become available as you progress through the story. Also see trophy “I Heart Manhattan” for more info on the challenge types. Note: If you lose the match against Taskmaster, just replay another challenge and he will fight you again. |

A Suit For All Seasons Purchase all Suits |
||
There are 27 wearable Suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man. For this trophy only 23/27 are needed, the ones for completing all districts 100%, doing all Black Cat Stakeouts and finding all Backpacks are not required! All suits become available from story missions, side missions, and collectibles. On your way to the trophy “I Heart Manhattan” (100% completion), you will get access to them all automatically. Each suit costs Tokens which you get from collectibles and challenges. It’s best to save up your Tokens until you’ve got enough for all Suits. Make a manual Save, buy all Suits, reload Save, now buy the 15 gadget upgrades for trophy “Science FTW!”. If you waste tokens on Gadget Upgrades & Suit Mods, you may have to replay a lot of challenges and bases to get enough Tokens for the Suits. So don’t buy the Gadget Upgrades and Suit Mods, or at least only the cheap and most useful ones. There are enough Tokens in the game to buy all Suits and Upgrades on the same save but it would require you to get the gold highscore in each challenge which makes this a whole lot harder. The game is easy enough to beat without upgrades, better keep your Tokens till the end. To buy all Suits you need the following amount of Tokens: 16 Backpack Tokens, 60 Crime Tokens, 33 Base Tokens, 15 Landmark Tokens, 16 Research Tokens, 39 Challenge Tokens. List of Spider-Man Suits:

||
Schooled Complete all of the Corrupted Student missions |
||
For this you need to do a line of 5 side missions. The earliest you can do this is in Act 2, after main mission “Spider-Hack” (hacking into Oscorp Tower). Then some students go missing and you must go find them, one per mission. All 5 missions are given by Philipp Chang at ESU, in the Greenwich district. It gets marked on the map via a blue icon.
What makes these quests special is that all you have to go on is a picture of the location you must find, it won’t get marked on the map automatically. Below are walkthroughs for each quest with their starting points and locations where you will find the student: |
||
Amazing Coverage All Surveillance Towers activated |
||
See trophy “I Heart Manhattan” (The Surveillance Towers are marked on the map by default after the first few story missions and will reveal all other collectibles on the map).

||

Spy Hunter Get Spectacular or better in a Taskmaster Drone Challenge |
||
Challenges become available after the Act 3 main mission “Streets of Poison”.
There are 4 types of challenges:
Each challenge has 3 reward tiers, depending on your score (from worst to best): Amazing, Spectacular, Ultimate. Spectacular which you need for the 4 challenge trophies is right in the middle and very doable within 1-2 tries. Given the fact that you must do all challenges for 100% completion, the challenge trophies will all come naturally along the way. It’s truly not hard at all, the score requirements are very forgiving and you can repeat the challenges as often as you like. Once completed they remain on the map and can be replayed. If you struggle with one challenge, move on to the next – there are multiple of each type. |
||
Challenge Finder Complete every Taskmaster Challenge in the city once |
||
See trophy “I Heart Manhattan” (Get at least Amazing rating in all 16 Taskmaster Challenges).
R&D Complete all Research Stations |

Demons Emerge Complete Act 1 |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after main mission “And the Award Goes to…”
The Six Assemble Complete Act 2 |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after main mission “Out of the Frying Pan…”
End Game Complete Act 3 |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after main mission “Pax in Bello” (completed the story). After the story you can continue to do all side missions, collectibles and mop up miscellaneous trophies. Nothing is missable.
Science FTW! Craft 15 Upgrades |
||
This requires you to craft 15 Gadget Upgrades. Suit Mods don’t count. Press Touchpad > Gadgets. Select a gadget to view its upgrades. They cost Tokens which you get from Collectibles and Side Activities, see trophy “I Heart Manhattan”.
It’s advisable that you save up your Tokens until you can afford 15 Upgrades. Then make a manual Save Game, buy 15 for the trophy, reload Save Game to get Tokens back. Now you can reuse those tokens to buy all Suits for the trophy “A Suit For All Seasons”. Most important are the Challenge Tokens and Base Tokens, don’t waste those on Gadget Upgrades until you have the trophy for buying all Suits. |
||
Knocking Down Kingpin Defeat Fisk |
||
Fisk is the first boss fight and unmissable as part of the story. When the fight starts there are two turrets in the room. Use + to destroy them. In the next phase you must shoot webs at Fisk to stun him, then perform a combo and repeat. When he calls his henchmen, defeat them first and then shoot webs at Fisk again and attack. |
||
Staying Positive Defeat Li |
||
This unlocks during your third and final combat encounter with Li, in Act 3 near the end of the story. In the last Li fight, you must dodge his attacks until he gets tired. Then you can perform combos on him. Just keep dodging around him and attack when the button prompt shows up. In the last phase he will summon a demon, but this too is easy to dodge. The same tactic applies, dodge until he and his demon get tired and then you can attack. You may also throw objects at him with + to speed up the process and make him get tired quicker. |
||
Grounded Defeat Electro and Vulture |
||
Electro and Vulture are the 4th boss fight and unmissable as part of the story. This is a midair combat against two bosses at the same time. To defeat Electro, use the web-shooters to stun him and perform combos. When he uses the power generators to send out pillars of energy, destroy the generators with your web-shooter. This will weaken Electro. Rinse and repeat, don’t forget to web him when possible. Vulture joins the fight shortly after Electro has taken his first big beating from you. Vulture can easily be dodged and is then open for a follow-up. You can also stun him with web-shooters and follow up with a combo. |
||
Sting and Smash Defeat Scorpion and Rhino |
||
Scorpion and Rhino are the 5th boss fight and unmissable as part of the story. The fight starts out with Rhino. Lure him to areas with destructibles that you can use against him. For example, stand in front of a container to make him charge at it, then dodge away and pull down + the container onto him. Then he’s stunned and can be attacked. There are many objects around the area that can be used against Rhino. Scorpion joins the fight shortly after Rhino takes damage. It’s best to focus on Scorpion first as he has very little health and is the more annoying one with his ranged attacks. If you’re lucky Rhino will ram him for you and thus cause heavy damage. You can use web-shooters against Scorpion and follow up with a combo. Once Scorpion is down it’s back to the original tactic of letting Rhino ram into objects that you can use against him. Alone he doesn’t pose much of a threat. |
||
Tombstone Takedown Defeat Tombstone |
||
Tombstone is an optional boss at the end of a 3-part side quest line. You must play the following 3 side missions and will face Tombstone at the end:
The first quest (On the Move) starts in the Greenwich district in front of Octavius Industries’ Lab. It unlocks as you progress through the story and can still be played after the story, so just keep playing until it becomes available. The 3 quests are very easy and short and have waypoint markers for everything. In the actual Tombstone fight you must attack him until his henchmen show up. Defeat those and then attack Tombstone. After landing a few combos, Spider-Man uses the counter-drug on Tombstone. This will take his powers away and makes him vulnerable. Throw the objects in the room at him, then he’s stunned and can be attacked. |
||
Shock and Awe Defeat Shocker |
||
Shocker is the 2nd boss fight and unmissable as part of the story. In the first phase you must dodge Shocker’s attacks until he uses a blast attack that hits everything around him. After he uses that move his shield will go down and he’s vulnerable for a few seconds. Quickly throw an object with + and follow up with a combo. In the 2nd phase it’s essentially the same but he learns a new shockwave move. Keep dodging until he uses that move, then jump + to a safe place at the walls. Get behind Shocker while he uses his shockwave move and throw an object at him. Now he’s stunned and can be attacked. In the third phase, he is trapped below a chandelier. Dodge a few times until he stops attacking to recharge. This gives you an opening to pull + the pieces of the chandelier. Repeat until the chandelier is destroyed and falls onto Shocker. |
||
Wing It Traverse across the city rooftops |
||
The official trophy requirement is a bit misleading and oddly worded. The exact requirement is to disturb 500 flocks of pigeons. As you swing through the city you will disturb flocks of pigeons and they fly away. This will come through natural gameplay. In fact, it will be one of your first trophies (I got it a little while after Shocker boss fight while swinging through the city). No need to worry about this at all, it is guaranteed to unlock automatically over the course of the game.
*Before Patch 1.03 the trophy was called “Bird Bane” – “Disturb 500 flocks of pigeons”. They changed the wording but the requirement is still the same and they kept the pigeon on the trophy icon. |
||
King of Swing Complete a level 1 Traversal Benchmark |
||
Press Touchpad > Benchmarks and you’ll see blue icons for Traversal Benchmarks, green icons for Combat Benchmarks. These track how often you have done a certain action. Get any of the 8 Traversal Benchmarks (Blue Runner Icon) from Level 1 to Level 2.
They are really easy, for example “Swing near the ground for 5000 meters”. Some of these will surely come through natural gameplay without trying, you don’t even have to worry about it. The Benchmarks are simply a form of game stat and provide you with free XP. |
||
And Stay Down! Complete a level 1 Combat Benchmark |
||
Press Touchpad > Benchmarks and you’ll see blue icons for Traversal Benchmarks, green icons for Combat Benchmarks. These track how often you have done a certain action. Get any of the 19 Combat Benchmarks Benchmarks (Green Fist Icon) from Level 1 to Level 2.
They are really easy, for example “Wrap Up 100 enemies with webs”. Some of these will surely come through natural gameplay without trying, you don’t even have to worry about it. The Benchmarks are simply a form of game stat and provide you with free XP. |
||
Pigeon Hunter Catch all of Howard’s Pigeons |
||
See trophy “I Heart Manhattan” (Must do Side Mission “Helping Howard” in Chinatown, then his 12 Pigeons get marked on the map).
Hug It Out Knock together 10 pairs of enemies with Trip Mines |
||
You unlock Trip Mines automatically in Act 2, Main Mission “Dual Purpose”. So first you have to reach this mission and it will unlock the Tripe Mine Gadget. The fastest way to farm this is in the Fisk Hideout of Harlem (if it has already been completed you can replay it at any time by returning to the hideout). There are multiple groups of enemies standing close together. Shoot a Trip Mine at one enemy that’s facing another. The trip mine will cause them to get knocked together. Click “Restart Checkpoint” to repeat and farm 10 pairs. If you run out of Trip Mines, use the Anti-Ock Suit’s ability “Resupply”. It instantly recharges your Trip Mines when they’re the actively selected gadget (it’s the suit you get for completing the story). You can farm 2-3 pairs per try. With checkpoint restart you will be done in 1-2 minutes. |
||
Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man Complete all Side Missions |
||
See trophy “I Heart Manhattan” (completed all 16 Side Missions).
The Scientific Method Craft your first Upgrade |
||
See trophy “Science FTW!”.
Spider-Sensible Perfect Dodge 10 attacks |
||
First, you must buy the skill “Perfect Dodge” from the Defender skill tree. This allows you to press just as your Spider-Sense turns blue to counter enemies with a Web Shot to the face. Do 10 of these perfect dodges for the trophy.
Overdrive Complete 10 Vehicle Takedowns |
||
During Crime Events you will sometimes get Car Chases. In fact, this trophy will come automatically on your way to 100% completion because you have to do all 165 Crime Events for that. They are randomly generated. Not all of them end in a Car Chase but don’t worry about it, just work on clearing all Crime Events and this trophy will come along the way. As part of these events you will have to land on vehicles with and take out the gangsters in the car. After taking out the driver, quickly press to stop the car safely.
With Great Power… Pay respects at Ben Parker’s grave |
||
Ben Parker’s grave is at the cemetery in the north-west (top left) corner of Harlem. When you go there, press to highlight the grave. |
||
Hero for Higher Perch atop Avengers Tower |
||
Avengers Tower is the tallest building in the game, found in the middle of the “Upper East Side” district. It has a big “A” at its top and well… it stands out because of its size, would be hard to overlook. Climb to the top and you’ll find 2 red lights on the tower. Climb onto the red lights to pop the trophy. This is the highest point in the game. You must also have uncovered the Upper East Side district by using the Radio Towers there, otherwise the trophy won’t unlock. |
||
Sightseeing Photograph all Landmarks on the Map |
||
See trophy “I Heart Manhattan” (Completed all 47 Landmarks).
Born to Ride Ride the Subway 5 times |
||
This is for fast-traveling 5 times. Spider-Man uses the subway for fast-travel. You unlock fast travel early in Act 1. Fast Travel points are then marked on the map, they are police stations and your Apartment. You can fast travel to the same location 5 times in a row to unlock the trophy.
Sticky and Tricky Chain 4 unique tricks before landing |
||
First you must buy the skill “Air Tricks” from the Webslinger skill tree. Now go to the tallest building you can find, jump off and hold + , press to perform 4 unique tricks before you land. Do one rotation of each trick, they only last 1 second. From the tallest buildings in the game you have more than enough time before hitting the ground. |
||
Snappy Dresser Wear 5 new Spider-Suits |
||
Unlock 5 of 27 suits, they will be worn automatically upon crafting. See trophy “A Suit For All Seasons” for all Suits.
Arachnophobia Perform 75 Stealth Takedowns |
||
During story, side missions, bases and challenges there are lots of Stealth Sections. Mainly from Stealth Challenges and Bases though. You can do stealth Takedowns by aiming at enemies from afar and pressing . Or you can do a Perch Takedown by sitting above an enemy and pressing . Both of these count. Of course enemies may not be alerted at the time you do this. In all likelihood, this will come through natural gameplay without trying. That’s because there are lots of stealth sections towards 100% completion.
If you’ve 100% completed the game and are still missing stealth takedowns you can simply replay the stealth challenges. Repeat them over and over again until the trophy pops. |
||
Lost and Found Collect 5 Backpacks |
||
See trophy “I Heart Manhattan”.
Spider-Man About Town Greet 10 citizens |
||
Walk on the street and when you pass by civilians, press to do a little gesture for them. Do this with 10 civilians and the trophy will pop.
Alternatively, sometimes you will notice people with a button prompt above their head but this is rare. For them you can do a special greeting and these also count towards the trophy. |
||
Cat’s Out of the Bag Collect a Black Cat collectible |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. You get this in main mission “Stakeout” which is early in the game. As part of the mission you are forced to pick up one of Black Cat’s dolls.
A Bit of a Fixer-Upper Complete all optional projects in the lab |
||
Enter Octavius Industries’ Lab (Greenwich district) and interact with the Spectrograph on the left and Circuit Projects on the right. Octavius Industries is a fast travel point marked on the map, you come her multiple times during the story to talk to your boss Dr. Octavius. There are 10 Spectrograph Projects (put DNA samples in correct order) and 10 Circuit Projects (Wire a Circuit correctly). They unlock gradually as you progress through the story. After the story you can return in free-roam and they will all be unlocked.
They are little puzzles. If you get stuck, refer to this guide with all solutions: Marvel’s Spider-Man – All Lab Project Solutions. |
||
Ace the Base Complete all objectives in a base |
||
There are 4 types of enemy bases: Fisk Hideout, Prisoner Camp, Demon Warehouse, Sable Outpost. They unlock as you progress through the story. On the map, when you scroll over an enemy outpost, you can see 2 bonus requirements. For example, the Prisoner Camp in Financial District has “Use Trip Mine on 5 Enemies” and “Perform 5 aerial attacks” which are both pretty easy. Look for one with easy requirements that suit your playstyle and complete the 2 tasks before taking down all enemies.
Luckily, you can replay any and all bases after they have been captured. The completed bases are greyed out on the map but still visible. Mark them on the map and you’ll find a blue circle in the base from which it can be replayed. Therefore, this is not missable and you can keep retrying. In all likelihood, you will get this naturally because there are many bases in the game needed for 100% completion. I got it in my first base without even trying. |

Hey friends,
the guide is complete but some videos are still unlocking. All videos will be live within the next 24 hours.
Enjoy Marvel’s Spider-Man, happy trophy hunt to you all!

Hey power. Now that new game plus is out. I’m I able to best it on ultimate using my new game plus file? Meaning play unprompted difficulty with my level 50 Spider-Man. Or will that void the trophy ??
Ash Redding says
Awesome guide as always mate, thanks for posting this. Much appreciated. Can’t wait to get stuck into this.
Cheers Ashbo.
Kris C. says
I don’t know if you could answer this, but does having the Spidey Suit Pack form Pre-Ordering the game effect the A Suit For All Seasons Trophy? Will it not unlock if I have these three suits out of the gate with the start of the game?
PowerPyx says
The Pre-Order DLC won’t affect the trophy. Even some of the main game suits aren’t needed for the trophy, only the ones you purchase with Tokens. So DLC suits don’t count towards the trophy.
Kris C. says
The Spidey Suit Pack from Pre-Ordering comes with the Iron Spider suit, the Spider-Punk suit, and the Velocity Suit, suits that are needed for the trophy. I’m just worried if I have these suits already unlocked from the start of the game I won’t get the A Suit For All Seasons Trophy because I didn’t technically purchase them from the game.
PowerPyx says
Ahhhhhh I thought the Pre-Order has new extra suits not existing ones.
Well in that case I don’t know exactly but if the developers did their job it will unlock the trophy just fine. I don’t see why it would void the trophy (but haven’t tested this myself).
Jad says
Thanks for the great guide. I have a couple of questions…
Is it okay to just keep the map clear of events as you progress through the story rather than save them all for after? Even if it takes more time? I’m in no rush to finish the game, but I am after the Platinum trophy.
Will not being able to spend tokens on upgrades and suits make the game harder?
Can you retry challenges immediately after attempting them to try for the maximum number of tokens?
PowerPyx says
Hi Jad, glad you like the guide.
For your questions:
1) Yes of course, you can mix it up and do collectibles / challenges / bases / side quests etc. as you play through the story. That’s fine either way. So feel free to grab them when they become available.
2) Not really. I didn’t spend Tokens and didn’t have trouble. You can spend some on cheap Suit Mods and a few new Suits and Upgrades will be okay. But I wouldn’t buy anything that requires challenge Tokens or Base Tokens (these are endgame unlocks anyway). The gadget upgrades just give you more ammo but I really used those tools anyway and the ammo slots you start with suffice for most combat encounters.
3) Yes you can retry immediately until you hit the highscore. If you beat it with the same score again you don’t get any extra Tokens. So they are limited, only up to 3 Tokens per Challenge if you get a really good highscore.
Spiker says
Any Chance we get a Dragon quest 11 Guide??
PowerPyx says
I don’t have anything planned for it, sorry. It overlapped with Spider-Man / Destiny 2 Forsaken and Shadow of the Tomb Raider is also coming soon. Would have done it if there was more time.
Quink666 says
How do you get Wing It?
Tried swinging forever but still not getting. Far above the building and such.
PowerPyx says
It unlocked randomly for me while exploring the city shortly after Shocker boss. I don’t know why they changed the trophy, it used to say “Bird Bane” before Patch 1.03 – Disturb 500 flocks of pigeons. Now with day-one patch they put it to “Traverse across the city rooftops”.
I could use some confirmation on this actually… probably the requirement is still the same, just oddly reworded. There are pigeons everywhere and they will fly away when you swing past buildings. You can still see the pigeon in the trophy icon so I think requirement is still same. Feel free to report back when it unlocks for you.
Rynam says
Either the Guide is wrong or something’s wrong with my Game regarding challenge tokens.
For Bronze Rank i get 1, Silver i get 1 + 2, and for Gold i get 1 + 2 + 3. So it’s possible to get 6tokens/challenge.
PowerPyx says
That is very weird. In my game it’s:
Bronze = 1
Silver = 2
Gold = 3
It even shows on the map when you scroll over the challenge how many tokens it gives per rank. In the rewards screen it shows the Tokens and that’s 1/2/3 for me, I went through my old recordings.
Screenshot: https://bit.ly/2QbNr3V
Rynam says
Here a Screenshot of mine where i got 3 Tokens for Silver Rank.
It also Shows 1/2/3 for Bronze/Silver/Gold, but seems to add rewards and not just give the highest one.
i.imgur.com/Kn7eBnN.jpg
PowerPyx says
Hmmm on Gold it only gives 3 Tokens: https://bit.ly/2Nvcfpi
So weird <_< What difficulty are you playing on? How many Tokens do you get for Gold? Can anybody else here confirm if they get 1/2/3 or 1/3/6 tokens per challenge grade?
Rynam says
“What difficulty are you playing on”
Amazing
“Hmmm on Gold it only gives 3 Tokens”
Did you get Silver on that challenge before you got gold? Or gold straight from the first try? If i get Gold on that Challenge i got Silver before it also only gives 3 Extra Token, but that still adds up to 6 total per Challenge.
Also if i first get Bronze, and in a 2nd Try Gold it gives me 5 extra Tokens. And if i get Bronze, Silver, Gold, in 3 seperate tries it gives me 1, 2, and 3 Token each. But still always adds up to 6 per challenge.
PowerPyx says
Ah I see now. Yes it was not the first try, that’s why I got confused, it had already unlocked the tokens for bronze + silver.
I tried on old save and you’re right about how it works. Thanks for clarifying that, really appreciate the help! Fixing it now.
Ross says
Hi excellent guide as always! Just to clarify I am clearing all districts out one at a time whilst playing the story all landmark photos backpacks etc. Am I ok doing this as long as I don’t spend and challenge or base tokens? Don’t want to make the platinum any harder!
PowerPyx says
Yes that’s perfectly fine to do 🙂
mitch2161998 says
Hey for the “spiderman around town” you dont need to wait for prompts and press them, if you press square (try to hit) a civilian he will do a little wave or fingers guns, do this 10 times and it pops
PowerPyx says
Nice one, I just checked this and that works too. Definitely faster than waiting for the triangle prompt. Will update in the guide, thanks!!
Mitchell23 says
Are there enough backpack tokens to unlock everything (suits, gadget upgrades, etc)?
Breno Borges says
I Want to know that too
Martijn says
For the Hero for Higher trophy you need to uncover the map around Avengers Tower. Other wise the trophy won’t unlock
PowerPyx says
Will add that in, thank you 🙂
Alucard says
I wasted 1 base token i didn’t finish the game yet. Is that ok? Or do i need to restart the game?!
PowerPyx says
No worries, totally fine. There are way more than you need.
Chris Jenkins says
Just a quick question, I did all challenges to gold and I fought taskmaster only to get crushed by him and now he won’t appear again, how do I get his attention again after failing the last encounter?
PowerPyx says
That is an issue. And I don’t have an answer to it, I’m sorry :/
I defeated him first try, it never occurred to me to let him win and see what would happen. Didn’t keep my save from before the last challenge.
My best guess is that you must replay some challenges and he will spawn again. Or just roam around town and he will spawn? I’d be surprised if they made this missable, that would be horrible game design.
Btw, what happened when you lost? Did he say anything to you or was it just screen to black and checkpoint reload? Could also be a glitch, maybe it’s supposed to respawn you in the fight if you lose, but not sure.
Please do report back if you find the answer, that would be extremely helpful to add to the guide. Or maybe a user here is willing to make a backup save before last challenge to check this out. I’ll try to do some digging on my end in the meantime and update if I find anything.
Chris Jenkins says
Ok after another attempt at an already finished challenge I got another rematch against taskmaster, phew thought that was a lost cause but it’s good to know he will pop up if you get a success on 1 of his combat missions, didn’t try the other ones but I’m sure it’ll work.
PowerPyx says
Thank you very much for confirming, glad to hear this! I’m adding a note in the guide, thanks again 🙂
Marty says
Thank you for your time for this guide – can you just clarify the warning regarding the tokens and suits – this might be a daft or noob query but can you please clarify the steps to save/load/buy? I have turned off automatic updates until that trophy – just in case it gets patched. Just not 100% sure what’s in front of me (or if I’ll be a good enough player for max tokens in challenges) – still very early in the story here.
Joseph says
I have completed all side missions but did not unlock the “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” trophy. I was wondering what is considered a side mission. Do I have to complete all bases or just the ones that say “Side Mission”?
Joseph says
I haven’t completed the main story, so I haven’t unlocked the Sable Outpost or Prisoner Camps yet. I wanted to know if these are considered “Side Missions”?
PowerPyx says
Just the ones called “Side Mission” in the map overview.
No, the camps are not considered side missions. I hadn’t collected any collectibles when the trophy popped. I finished story, didn’t collect anything, then the first thing I did was side quests, the trophy popped.
My guess is that because you haven’t beaten the story some side mission is still unavailable. They unlock gradually throughout the game.
moonman says
Thank you for your time for this guide.
Karl says
For the a bit of a fixer upper trophy you can skip all puzzles by going to settings accessibility and turning on option to skip all puzzles trophy popped just fine
Chris says
I some how missed the trophy overdrive. When finished the game will thug crimes happen again?
James K says
Not quite having the same issue, but I’m coming towards the end of my completion and after around 6-7 car chases, all the crimes I’m finding just aren’t really spawning any-more. The last 20+ crimes haven’t had any car chases.
KAdamsy1 says
is it nessessary to get a couple of golds on the taskmaster challenges? I’m currently at 21 with 3 left to do, only got 1 silver for each type (combat,bomb,stealth, drone) in order to get those trophys.
PowerPyx says
No, not needed. If you only get bronze-silver you’ll still have enough tokens in the end.
James K says
If you get silver with everything you’ll be fine. You get 3 tokens for silver, and only need 39 for all the suits (I think there are 16 challenges, which would mean 48 tokens if you silver medalled everything).
EJ says
Whew, thought I screwed myself with the suits trophy. I didn’t really use the guide much only for a few trophies. I didn’t have enough challenge tokens, but luckily I bought most of the suits so I only had to do a few challenges over to get enough for 3 suits.
KAdamsy1 says
Good to know got 32 tokens now just need to make some of the bronze into silver and i’m all good 🙂 great guide as always
Michael says
I collected all the pigeons for the pigeon hunter trophy and the trophy hasn’t popped
Chandler Bell says
I fear that the A Bit Of A Fixer Upper trophy may be glitched for me. I completed all 20 of the puzzles towards the end of the game and didn’t get it. Even went back after I beat it and can’t even interact with either one now.
Klimace says
Does the save glitch still work for ver 1.04?
KAdamsy1 says
questionis it possible to stealth all 6 waves of an outpost? Just wondered cos i can stealth the 1st wave no problem after that the game basically forces you to fight the last 5 waves which is preety shit. Its not a problem either way just wondered is all.
James K says
No, you’re correct. From what I’ve seen, you can only stealth through wave 1, then everyone is automatically alerted from wave 2 onwards. I think its weird, but its only a minor qualm of an otherwise excellent game. I don’t bother with stealth at bases anymore for this reason, unless there is a challenge to get x number of stealth takedowns.
Lireeez says
Hey bro! Thanks for the guide , appreciated. But, does the save glitch still works?
JustDJ says
Hello. Great guide but I have some questions.
1) I accidentally spent some challenge and base tokens on Gadget Upgrades. Will that affect anything or make me have to get gold on some challenges?
2) When the Wing It trophy says traverse the city rooftops or something, it’s not that odd but does.it just mean find pigeons on rooftops and run towards them?
PowerPyx says
1) No worries if you only spent a few you should be fine. Worst case you need to get 1-2 gold scores. No big deal, just don’t spend too many of those tokens.
2) The pigeons automatically fly away when you swing through the city. No need to walk on the ground. It happens all the time automatically, pigeons are everywhere in this game.
MadRok says
I think the Trophy Overdrive is bugged… I finished all crimes and demon crimes in every part of Manhatten but the Trophy does not unlock.
Any suggestions? Please help :O I’m halfway through the Second Chapter.
James K. says
I’ve 100% bought 20+ upgrades around 4 times (reloading saves) and the trophy isn’t popping?
Doing gadget upgrades.
PowerPyx says
Weird. Gadget upgrades is correct. Maybe get some more tokens to buy additional ones, perhaps that helps triggering the trophy.
Otherwise do this:
1) Go to PS4 Settings – Saved Data Management – Back up your save in PS+ or USB (if using PS+ be sure to deactivate automatic upload).
2) Delete the game from your PS4
3) Reinstall it, download patches again
4) (if it deleted your associated saves, copy them back from the backup you made in Step 1)
Now retry trophy and it should pop. Sometimes something goes wrong during the trophy set installation which can make single trophies randomly glitch out for individual players. Happened to me too in Uncharted 4 once on a trophy that nobody else had glitches with. Reinstalling fixes it 99% of the time!
James K says
I did this and it worked! Thanks so much.
Sojubrew says
Could you clarify on the “ake a manual Save, buy all Suits, reload Save, now buy the 15 gadget upgrades for trophy “Science FTW!”” If i’m not mistaken most games if you reload a save doesn’t your completion go back to whatever it was prior to obtaining more items? I.E If i get all suits and my completion is 50 percent if i revert the save isn’t the completion %reverted back? Thank you very much
PowerPyx says
You won’t lose progress when reloading a manual Save. That would defeat their whole purpose. Don’t worry.
beauxnier says
so…..i accidentally spent like a ton of challenge tokens om gadget upgrades cause i didn’t really process i would need them for the trophy. any way i can reverse that? cause I’ve been trying to get the gold scores to get more tokens and it’s just Not Working lmao
sosalert says
Are you still able to get all suits and fully upgraded gadgets? Although it will requires to farm more tokens but how do you get more Base Token if thats even possible?
PowerPyx says
You have to replay the bases and do all objectives in them. But if you already completed all objectives before it won’t give extra tokens. Only when you do new (previously incomplete) objectives 🙂
Tbsboy15 says
Great guide, as always!
For the Neighborhood Watch trophy, easiest thing to do is to complete the 5 Thug Crimes in Central Park. I got mine there.
Dingus says
PP, I think you should reconsider your advice about leaving all collectibles and side missions for last.
Very few of them require things you don’t have unlocked, they seem to unlock properly as you progress. There’s almost no reason why you shouldn’t collect or do them when you wish.
Doing a few here and here is far more advisable because a lot of them are really tedious and it will leave the end grind to be extremely boring. Better to mix it up, if you see a back pack on your way, grab it, if you want to do that side mission, do it, if you want to clean up some basses or collect some pigeons, go for it.
Leaving it all till last will make for a very boring experience, mixing it up as far better.
Lambo says
Don’t know if the latest 1.05 patch did it, but your manual save exploit doesn’t work. I made a manual save, bought the new suits, quit to menu to reload the manual save file and the suits remain un-crafted.
PowerPyx says
It’s not an exploit, it still works and always will work.
When you reload a manual save it reverts back to the point of your save as with any other game. So yes the suits are gone. The point is to get your tokens back so you can buy the gadgets too. After you have both trophies you can do whatever you want with the tokens.
Linetto says
Do “car chase” occur during “Demon Crimes”?
Because they never appear to me.
I have read that if I have already done all the “Thug Crimes” the car chases are more rare. It is true?
Do they occur in the following “Prisoner Crimes” and “Sable Crimes”?
Thanks!

Hallo PowerPyx,
Amitloaf says
Please note – I have confirmed that anti Ock suit is not requires for the all suits trophy. You don’t need to actually beat the game but just to purchase every purchase able suit (free suits you get from progression or optional tasks are not needed).
PowerPyx says
Thank you, will update this!
Ronaldo says
Just wanna add something about the 15 Upgrades, I would recommend spending the Landmark tokens/Backpack Tokens/Crime Tokens to get the upgrades outside the gadgets. Because not all Gadgets use Challenge Tokens or Base Tokens. Thanks!
Felipe says
Could anyone share a savegame with plenty of tokens to buy all suits? I just need to get the trophy ‘A Suit For All Seasons’ to finally get the Platinum Trophy.
My email felipexakalpc[at]gmail.com
SermN8R says
On the suit trophy, are they stackable on multiple play throughs or must all required suits be bought on one save file?
PS4VSXBOX says
After patch 1.08 they have added 2 more trophies. Beating the game on NG+ & completing it on ultimate difficulty.
If you haven’t got the platinum trophy, will these 2 be added to the list in order to obtain the plat? Or should I not install the latest update to avoid the grind?
Snake2410 says
They are added as dlc trophies in a separate tab on the main game trophy tab. They don’t count towards platinum.

Hi Powerpyx
I Forgot to do a manual save!
And I Ended the Game!!
What should i do PLZ!!
Thanks in advance
PowerPyx says
Nothing is missable. There’s free-roam after story, you don’t need a manual save before story end.
Dean says
Hi the game makes me unlock gadgets does make me use the tokens or are tokens just used for the upgrades. For eg it made me craft the web bomb and I was like I don’t want to use tokens or doesn’t this first step not use them?
bws says
The few items you must buy for the story does not significantly impact what you need for the end.
The rarest tokens are challenge tokens, you will need to either gold star most of the challenges or wait for a NewGame+ second play through to buy everything.
The base tokens are the other rare tokens, but I found it much easier to complete all the tasks in the base challenges, and if you do that then you have enough base tokens for everything that requires them.
I gold stared all the combat and stealth challenges, one or two bomb challenges, and got silver in all the drone challenges and I was able to buy all the suits and upgrade all my gadgets but not buy all the suit mods (I was 3 short).
On my NewGame+ play-through, as soon as the taskmaster challenges opened up, I quickly did 3 or 3 only rating a silver star and had enough tokens to buy everything. On NewGame+ all the token earning tasks are open to do again and earn tokens again, but you still have all the tokens from the first play-through, so if you plan to do NewGame+, it becomes much easier to get enough tokens to buy everything.

the trophy “inner sanctuary” and therefore “i heart manhatten” is bugged.
i have 100% in all districts.
in the dlc tab where you can see your % of the main game and dlc it is also 100%
i have unlucked the “nude suit” for completing everything
the inner sanctuary trophy will not pop and therefor neither will i heart Manhatten and therefore also not the plat.
i hae tried redoing all the demon warehouses in 1 go and doing all the task. still nothing. this might be very rare but have you heard similar things from others
Mibo says
@kasper Poulsen Any updates? Do you know if they fixed this bug?

Hallo.i made everything in the game but i spend all the tokens which was for to buy the suits.i didnt knew it not to spend.now the easy way is to play again the game and not spend nothing?
Edward says
Does the manual save for the tokens still work in 2020?
Wellerson says
Yes. It worked flawless in my 1.18 version. There’s a new version available at moment of this writing (1.19), which I did not install (unavailable space).
Henri says
Noob question, but u can use the skillpoints inmidlately, or do you have to save them to
Wellerson says
As said in the very beginning of this post:
THGhost says
Will you be doing a guide for the new trophies that come with the remastered PS5 version of the game?
Kyle says
I’m totally confused about these challenge tokens, can you get away with getting bronze to unlock all suits or do you need to get all silver?
Snake2410 says
13 gold and 3 silver will give you enough for all suits and gadgets. All suits only I believe you need 12 silvers and 3 bronze minimum.
I’ve also noticed something about Friendly- Neighborhood difficulty when it comes to drone challenges on PS5(not sure if this is just in the remaster version or on PS4 as well, they both have Friendly- Neighborhood). It seemingly removes the time limit and gives a set amount of time limit points at the end. Seemingly around 8k. I did them all on amazing back on the PS4 release and they all have roughly 1:30 to get through them.
It definitely made them feel easier this time, you just need to know the routes. Screwed up enough in a few that it should’ve cost me more points yet I still aced them.
Jeremy says
Another great guide!
Jeddyybear says
Can you still get a platinum on the PS5 remastered version without doing the DLC trophies and new game plus trophies?
Ben says
Yes
