Chapter 8 Walkthrough
Needless Death
At the start of the chapter, you are investigating the interior of Sawa’s apartment before the police arrive. First, go to the front door and investigate the broken lock.
Then go into the room where her body is and inspect the blood splatter on the ground behind her head, along with her neck to spot the cause of death.

Finally, inspect the bottom middle spot of the bookshelf to the left to pull out a book. Choose “Take the yearbook with you.” to have Sugiera take the yearbook back to investigate later when there’s more time.

After some scenes, you will automatically be back at Seiryo High School. Head over to the chairman’s office to speak to him, then go to classroom 2-2 to see the students. Finally, you will need to leave the school, then head to Yokohama 99 to continue the story.
Where’s Kuwana
Speak to Tsukumo and agree to continue with the investigation. After more scenes, you and Kaito will need to head to Kuwana’s Office in town to search for him. Head up the stairs and go inside, then you’ll be searching for clues as to where he might have gone. First, you need to inspect the cigarette package on the ground beside some pillows.
Next, inspect the ashtray on the desk, selecting it once in close-up view to observe how it’s completely unused.
Finally inspect the cigarette pack again to pick it up and look more closely at it, then rotate it and inspect the lighter stuck in the top to pull it out.
When you try to leave you will be attacked by some RK members who are also looking for Kuwana. Isobe is a miniboss enemy and has two health bars, but doesn’t do much special so you should be able to quickly deal with the group.
The people who live next door come out after, and suggest you look for Kuwana at a bar named Siren over near the Chinatown area. Go inside, and you will now have your first encounter with the RK leader Soma.
Soma always fights with a knife, so basically all of his attacks will cause bleeding if they connect, so watch your health if he hits you. From the start of the fight he will sometimes charge up and then lunge towards you, but be aware these AREN’T Deadly Attacks yet, so you just need to avoid them for now.
Until about the halfway point he will alternate between using those and normal knife slashes. Be dodges and blocks a lot, so using charged Tiger attacks to break his block is helpful. Watch for if you are being real in his face for a while, because he will do an unblockable grab where he stabs Yagami in the stomach, doing a decent bit of damage.
At the halfway point he charges up, then will start using actual Deadly Attacks which can be Mortal Reversaled. Once you reach right near the end of his health bar the game will go into a cut scene where it looks like there is going to be a quicktime event, but there actually isn’t and the fight just ends.
After the fight is over and you view the remaining scenes the chapter will be complete.
