Lies of P All Cryptic Vessel Locations & Solutions

Lies of P contains 6 Cryptic Vessels and Solutions. Deciphering all cryptic vessels and claiming the rewards unlocks the Veteran Explorer trophy & achievement.

All Cryptic Vessels are either found in chests or obtained as rewards for performing certain actions. First, you must find Venigni. He can be found near the Center of Venigni Works stargazer when you explore Venigni Works, an unmissable, story-related area. Once you find him, talk to him and then defeat King’s Flame, Fuoco. After the boss fight, you can find him and his butler, Pulcinella, at Hotel Krat. From now on, you can have Venigni decrypt the Cryptic Vessels you obtain throughout the game. Below is a list of all Cryptic Vessel locations and how to obtain and solve them.

St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel

1. Crafted Cryptic Vessel: from the Stargazer, continue on through the area until you eventually can knock a brazier off a ledge. Go back down the way you came from to access an underground staircase that was previously inaccessible due to the Decay. Open the door to find the first Cryptic Vessel. When you’re back at Hotel Krat after defeating Fallen Archbishop Andreus, hand this in to Venigni to have the Cryptic Vessel decrypted.
   Solution: The Decryption leads to an assignment: you need to strike the puppet that hangs from the Alchemist Bridge on Elysion Boulevard. To do so, fast travel to Krat City Hall stargazer and walk back. Throw a Sawtoothed Wheel at the puppet to drop the second clue. The second clue is Letter with the Refuge’s Address with a photo of the location you need to find. Head back to the Krat City Hall stargazer and teleport to Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard stargazer. Now leave the house and cross the beam. The correct door is on your immediate right before the puppets. Open the door and rip the safe open to obtain Quartz and Owl Doctor’s Hunting Apparel Outfit.

Estella Opera House Entrance

1. Jeweled Cryptic Vessel: as you explore Estella Opera House, you’ll eventually reach a dark room with two ladders, one going down and a second smaller one going up. Climb the smaller ladder up to find a chest containing Jeweled Cryptic Vessel. Hand this item in over to Venigni to receive the Decryption.
   Solution: Head over to Cerasani Alley stargazer and head down the stairs. When you reach the cliff, go to the furthermost point where you can see a small barrel. Standing next to the barrel, use the Check Ground gesture. You will obtain a Legion Caliber and The Atoned’s Hunting Apparel Outfit.

Barren Swamp Bridge

1. Old Cryptic Vessel: right before the Stargazer, talk to Rookie Explorer Hugo to obtain the item. As usual, return to Hotel Krat and talk to Venigni to receive the first clue.
   Solution: Head to Path of Pilgrim and enter the house near the Stargazer. Ride the elevator down and at the bottom, go right and up the hill by the shack where you can find a Slum Resident. Talk to him to obtain Robbers’ Shack Key. Now open the shack behind you to access a chest with the two items.

Collapsed Krat

1. Rusty Cryptic Vessel: after making to the top of the building with the swordsmen, continue along the rooftops and drop down where you see a second fire-spitting puppet. Continue past him to find the Special Krat Supply Box functional item in a chest. Return to Hotel Krat and hand it over to Polendina to expand his shop. Now buy the Rusty Cryptic Vessel and then give it to Venigni for decryption.
   Solution: return to Barren Swamp Bridge stargazer to find that the gate where you first met Rookie Explorer Hugo is now open. And voilà, now the path to Hermit’s Cave is unlocked. All you have to do to solve this Cryptic Vessel is open the safe at the end of the cave.

Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field

1. Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel: after defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood for good, continue up the hill and speak with Alidoro. Make sure you kill Alidoro to obtain the Cryptic Vessel. WARNING: this Cryptic Vessel is easily missed if you decide to spare Alidoro. Alidoro must die in order to get this Cryptic Vessel. Head back to Hotel Krat and give the Cryptic Vessel to Venigni. Once Venigni has decrypted the Vessel, read it in its entirety and then talk to Eugénie and tell her the truth about her brother’s death to obtain. Then, rest at the Stargazer and talk to her again to unlock The Story of a Stranger Girl.

Arche Abbey Broken Rift

1. Mechanical Cryptic Vessel: from the Stargazer, continue through the area until you can climb up a ladder. After the ladder there will be a fork with an Harlequin enemy on your left. Go straight on instead, and then left where an enemy is protecting a chest containing this item. You can now hand this item over to Venigni at Hotel Krat.
   Solution: Head to Abandoned Apartment stargazer. Go up the stairs and leave the building. Cross the sign, but don’t go through the gate, instead flank the chasm and walk across the small piece of rock. Then, after the piece of rock, go right and left into the street. Climb the furthermost staircases. Equip the Frozen Feast weapon and talk to the Wandering Merchant to get your rewards.
