Starting Location: The Mouth of Hell
This quest can be started in the town of Old Kutna if you pass by and see the priest arguing with some villagers.
Mutt can also prompt you to stop for this while fast-traveling if it is available.
Prepare an offering for hell in the mine
The priest and the villagers want you to take a look in the mine for the devils they say have killed their cattle. You are provided with an offering and need to make your way west to where the mine is located. Climb down onto the first platform in the shaft to trigger a cutscene.
Get your items back
After the scene, you will be at the bottom of the mine shaft without any of your inventory. Follow the path ahead and you can go down the right side to find a note and some Saviour Schnapps in a basket, but it is a dead end otherwise. Go down the left path where you saw the night run as you approached the intersection to continue.
When you reach the next three-way intersection you can grab a torch off the barrel to light your way better.
The path to the right has another basket with some Saviour Schnapps, then you can continue following the path forward toward the voice. In the next lit room you can grab a hunting sword off the table on the left along with another note, then pick up a lockpick out of the small basket and use it to open the chest which contains some other items.
You should also lockpick the small chest in the same room for the Knight’s Contract item and a couple hundred Groschen. Read this note before continuing as it’s required for the best outcome of the quest.
Confront the mysterious knight (Optional)
Continue up the ladder after the knight when he talks to you. You can follow after him down the right path if you want, where he will attack you. If you had picked up the note from the chest and read it, you gain a dialogue option where you can say the words from the contract which stops him from attacking you. Fighting him directly is not recommended, as he will kill you in a couple of hits and takes quite a bit of damage from the weapons you can pick up inside. You can knock him out if you want to which allows you to loot his items and then a key to the chest with your items.
If you stop him attacking you by saying the words you can then ask him some questions, then say that you will take over his task from him in the mine.
Get out of the mine!
If you spoke with the knight and said you will take over his duty, he will automatically lead you out of the mine along with giving you back your items. If you choose not to speak with him, the path leading to the left leads to a chest with your belongings, along with the ladder out of the mine shaft. If he’s not dead, then he will also follow you out of the mine during the next scenes.
You then have a few options to say to the people outside depending on whether or not you found the contract (talking to Taras in the mine isn’t required for this but you need to read it before leaving.). The best option is to choose “This contract explains everything.” You will then have a speech check which determines what happens next. If you choose the first option and pass the check, this prevents Taras from attacking the townspeople resulting in the best ending to the quest.
Help Taras!/Help the Villagers!
If you don’t successfully pass one of the speech check options, or choose one of the normal options Taras and the Villagers will attack each other. You then have the option of siding with either the villagers or Taras and killing the other, which ends the quest.
This finishes The Mouth of Hell side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

The Big Fella says
This is a nice change of pace from some of the other side quests which are boring and repetitive, this one is actually fun and unique
Talking Nettle says
If you drink a nighthawk potion before you go down the ladder the effect lasts after the cutscene and makes navigation in the tunnels easier.
