The Italian Job is the 25th main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Italian Job main story quest.
Go to the Italian Court / Buy from street traders (Optional)
The quest starts with you playing as Father Godwin, who is disguised as the Cardinal. While you walk to the Italian Court, there will be street vendors on the right side calling for you. You can make a purchase to complete the optional objective. The only item that has some use is “St. Barbara Figurine”, can haggle the price down to 50 Groschen. This can be given as a gift to the church council later. The other artworks are forgeries, and the food/potions are pointless since there’s more than enough of these at the council meeting.
Missable Trophy/Achievement: True Cardinal (you made it through the church council without raising suspicion)
For this trophy you must pick certain dialogues from here on out. Follow the choices exactly as written here and you’ll get it. DON’T pick any additional dialogues. If you ask additional questions it can raise suspicion and void the trophy! Stick to the bare minimum of required dialogues.
Walk to the quest marker where Jerome Naaz waits. Say: “(Bow)” > “(Evade)”. He raises his eyebrows because he seems to recognize Henry, but this is fine and can’t be avoided.
Follow Jerome Naaz to the Church Council
Follow Jerome through the courtyard, skip the optional “reply” option to not say anything wrong. He will introduce you to Giuseppe Cabrini, the guard commander who’s a native Italian.
Say: “Cordial greeting in Italian” > “How is life here?” > “Why did you stay here?” > “How many guards are under your command?” > “(Say goodbye and move on)” > “Come (Enter the Council)”.
This triggers a cutscene where Godwin meets the church council, but the booze is wearing off and he needs another drink quickly.
Discuss the church dispute / Help Henry
Most important for True Cardinal: Godwin must stay drunk to speak fluent Italian, don’t get any negative reputation (red face in top right after dialogue), don’t tell any council member you bought from the street traders, listen to the opinion of all sides, don’t ask unnecessary questions, give your closing speech without delay.
Exact choices for True Cardinal:
- After cutscene: “Continue formally” > “The Pope has not reached a decision”.
- As soon as you can walk around, drink once from the wine keg on the left side to get drunk, this is needed for Godwin to speak fluently.
- Talk to Albich of Uniczow (guy in green robe): “Remind me” > “(Keep Quiet)” > “What do you think about the dispute?” > (Leave)”.
- Talk to Father Anthony (guy in brown robe): “What are the Brotherhood’s demands?” > “I understand” > “(Leave)”.
- Talk to Abbot Jan III (guy in white robe): “What are the monastery’s demands?” > “I understand” > “(Leave)”.
- Talk to Janosh Usher (sitting at front of table): “Start closing speech” > “Albich is right (Support Sedletz)” > “(Calm Down)”.
True Cardinal unlocks after the dialogue ends, when the screen fades to black and you see Henry and the others talking in a pub.
You could also do the optional objectives to distract guards so Henry has fewer of them to deal with in the next objective, but it’s not needed for trophy purposes. Just for sake of completion we’ll go over these:
- Optional Objective: Ask for Wine – talk to Janosh Usher “Out with it”, then talk to Jerome Naaz and ask for wine.
- Optional Objective: Call for the Cook – talk to Janosh User again “Another idea?”, then talk to Jerome Naaz and call the cook. The objective completes after the council meeting.
- Optional Objective: Call guards to the Council – talk to Wenceslas Vorsucher (noble dressed in green): “What is your opinion on the dispute?” > “Why are the guards here?” > “Leave”. Then talk to Jerome Naaz: “Discuss the guards” > “Is there enough of them?” > “Be seeing you (Leave)”.
- Optional Objective: Help Henry – this will autocomplete after the council meeting if you did the above optional objectives.
- If you bought the “St. Barbara Figurine” from the street traders, you can talk to Christian of Pisek about it (if he agreed to help you in the previous quest he’ll stand in the corner). He then suggests you use it as a gift and claim it’s from the pope. Then during the closing speech you can say “Path towards reconciliation” and present the figurine as a gift, claiming it’s a blessed artifact sent by the pope himself. Then calm down both sides and they will agree to work together and split everything 50/50, so both sides get what they want. This isn’t needed for the trophy however.
Take out the guards / Secure the West Gate
You will now play as Henry again. Talking to Capon and the others, you can say the following: “Review the tasks” > “Got it”.
Then you must kill the guards outside the council meeting. If you did the optional objectives as Godwin there will be fewer guards.
If you want to do it stealthily, use a heavy crossbow and shoot them in the head where they are unarmored. This will instakill them quietly. If you do stealth kills you can save & exit after each one, then if you get caught can reload save.
You can also rush in and attack with your melee weapon. Can lure them up the stairs so only 1 can attack from the front. Can also lure them downstairs to where Brabant is sitting behind a carriage, at the west gate. Then he helps you fight the guards.
Talk to Sir Hans by the Well
After defeating all guards, talk to Hans in the middle of the courtyard: “Where’s Adder?” > “Let’s go find him”.
Find Adder
Adder is in the kitchen, in the north of the courtyard. Enter the door at the bottom of the stairs (Hans should be standing there).
You catch Adder having sex with the maid. Her husband Giuseppe (guard commander) catches them in the act. There are two options: you can attack and kill him, or distract him with dialogue for a peaceful outcome.
For the peaceful solution: “(Calm Down)” > “(Stop Adder)” > “(Stay Silent)” > “(Stay Silent)” > “Use Brabant’s Phrases” > “Fatta la legge, trovato l’inganno”. The wife and husband will be too busy quarreling with each other to care about what you do. A very sad Giuseppe cries in the kitchen while you return to your friends.
The violent solution would happen if you say “Attack”. Then a very sad wife cries because you killed her husband.
Talk to Adder
In the courtyard give Adder a scolding for almost ruining the plan with his uncontrolled lust, or praise his irresistible charm: “Adder is irresistible” (gains reputation) > “Let’s get to it”.
Find the connection between the cellar and the crypt
After the talk, watch where your friends are going. Go after them to the underground cellar. The entrance is in the north of the courtyard, through a door at the bottom of a wooden staircase:
Down in the cellar, in the room where Hans stands, interact with the walls to trigger a cutscene.
Then Zizka and your allies break through the wall, together you take over the Italian Court.
Afterward you talk to them, to gain reputation: “We must free the lords” > “I want to go with them” > “Got it!”.
Free the lords
Go up the tower in the northeast of the courtyard. Upstairs you run into Csaba Molnár. You can either kill him to free to lords, or win the dialogue to solve it peacefully.
To solve it peacefully you can reply to him with /
> Talk: “You don’t stand a chance against us” (any of the skill checks likely fail) > “Calm down, Adder!” > “We beat you” > “A new life awaits you!” > “I understand (Let him go)”.
If you fight him, simply attack from behind while he focuses on your teammates. Then loot the Prison cell key from his body.
Either way you free the lords and get a cutscene where everyone reunites. Godwin will make peace with his father (who was one of the lords rescued). Rosa will thank you for rescuing her father.
For reputation you can say: “I’m glad you’ve made peace” > “We made it”.
Talk to Zizka on the walls
Warning: Talking to Zizka will trigger a big fight! Before doing this, look around the Italian Court for loot. Samuel will call you over to tell you where lootworthy items are found. Rare weapons are in the armory above the kitchen. Valuables in the treasury downstairs, sketches in the chests in the smithies, rare books upstairs in Wenceslas’ personal library. This is the last chance you get for this. The armory is especially worth a look to prepare for the upcoming fight, it contains the best armor pieces in the game. The locked medium chest contains the best gloves, the hard chests have some weapons.
When battle-ready, talk to Zizka on the east battlements. Have your best weapons/armor equipped. Erik will arrive with his army. Doesn’t matter what you say, and a big battle ensues.
Fend off the ladders (Optional) / Hold off the attackers as long as you can
Hold /
on the ladders to knock them down, this requires a halberd weapon, which can be found leaning against the wall. Let your team deal with the enemies, it’s better you focus on the ladders so no new enemies climb up.
Defend the outer bailey
Follow the others downstairs to the courtyard, lots of enemies will attack. Fend them off for a while and a series of cutscenes will start where you eventually escape through the tunnel and blow it up so nobody can follow you.
Get to Ruthard Palace
Go through the tunnel.
Talk to Capon (Optional)
You can talk to Capon in the crypt through the side path. He overcame his fear of tunnels. Then exit the tunnel to Ruthard Palace, triggering another cutscene. Turns out Vauquelin Brabant is betraying you and stealing the silver for himself.
Defeat Brabant’s Men
Attack the enemies from behind while your friends draw their attention. If they focus on you, back away until they refocus on your friends. After defeating everyone in the stables you move to the courtyard and then kill the archers.
After the fight, Brabant’s men are all dead. Adder died too. You ride to Suchdol with the stolen silver. The next morning, you learn that Sigismund is retreating his whole army because he no longer has silver to pay them. Your plan worked perfectly.
The next quest starts immediately after the cutscene.
This finishes The Italian Job main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Next Quest: Civitas Pragensis

I finished the whole main story. I don’t see Italian silver in the inventory. Where can I buy it?
Rayflected says
“Reconcile differences” in the closing speech also works for getting the True Cardinal achievement.
Imquitehungry says
you can talk down Csaba Molnár with the charm option. I had 30 at the time.
Based says
All my stats were maxed out too, but still failed the checks, not sure if its just chance.
someone says
this needs an update the captain dialoge changed to a verry hard skillcheck
Dumb says
Yeah it’s stupid to be honest, I don’t think True Cardinal is even attainable since this update.
Hrochnick says
It’s possible to pass the skillcheck, just make sure you drink the shnapps in Godwin’s inventory just before talking to the captain.
Dan says
Even with a schnapps it stays the same (25 for me) cos you are already drunk. Can’t pass the skill check.
Suárez says
It’s not bugged, if you drink the schnapps when the guard mentions to the other guard ” this isn’t a pi$$ up” it will get you to about 90% tipsy and give you extra stats, as soon as it changes over to drunk you will minus speak stats
Mike says
I drank the schnapps and at 27 it passed the check
Josh says
You can also get Godwin outfit when playing as him. Whilst in the courtyard of the Italian court, place godwins clothes into one of the cupboards in one the minters rooms. Then when you play as Henry again you can then claim it for yourself
