Starting Location: Miri Fajta
To start this quest, go to the Nomads’ Camp and speak with the Voivoide. He can typically be found city in his tent toward the back of the camp.
Search Marika’s tent
The Voivode wants your help looking for his missing daughter. You can search her tent directly north of Voivode’s before leaving the camp. On the ground beside the chest you can pick up the Marika’s scarf item to complete the objective. This can be used later on to have Mutt search for her, but isn’t required past picking it up to complete this objective.
Ask the herbalist about Marika
You can then head to Herbalist Bozhena’s to speak with her about Marika.
Find Marika
Bozhena will give you an approximate location for where to find Marika in Apollonia.
When you reach the edge of the area you can have Mutt track with Marika’s scarf if you have him with you. Otherwise, go to the location below. There will be a gap between the rocks with a bunch of blood leading into a small cave. Speak with Marika inside.
Marika explains what happened, and asks you to help with his injuries. You can return to the camp, or if you have a decent survival level you can offer to treat him yourself right now.
You’ll need to give a Marigold decoction out of your inventory right then, or obtain one through purchase or making it yourself and come back.
Get Marika the Voivode’s amulet
Marika wants you to get the Voivode’s amulet as they view it as a protective item. For the best outcome you need to have him willingly give it to you though, you don’t want to steal it. Head back to the Nomads’ camp and speak with him, and he will give the information about the situation he withheld from you before.
Rescue the captive Tibor
Before the Voivode will think about the amulet, he wants to you rescue his other son who is currently being held captive in the town of Semine.
You can ask around the townsfolk, and someone should eventually point you to the Saddler’s in the southwest corner of town.
Go to the barn at the back where there is someone standing guard. Speak to them and you can pass a speech check or bribe him to convince them to let you break him out. You can also climb through the window on the back of the building (which is where you will also escape from in a moment).
If you do convince him to let you break him out, the keys to the door are sitting on the table immediately to the right when you enter. Then go through the door opposite and interact with Tibor to let him out.
Find out how to properly bury Gejza
Follow Tibor out of the building and away from the town. Speak with him when he stops in the forest and he’ll give you information about Gejza’s location and where to meet him with it.
Untie Gejza’s body
You will need to head west to the cleared forest area to find his body. It is located on a tree directly west of the buildings at the forest edge.
When you approach the woodcutters in the area will get mad, so if you want to deal with it peacefully you need to speak with one of them, and they’ll tell you to speak with the foreman.
Arrange with the foreman, the untying of Gejza’s body
The foreman will typically be near the buildings or the cooking fire. Say you want to bury the body, then you’ll have the option of paying him or passing one of two speech checks. The Persuasion check is easy, so you can go with that if you want to avoid a fight or use money.
You can then go over to the tree and interact with Gezja to until him.
Bring Gejza to the burial site
You then need to pick up the body and slow walk through the forest to the marked spot to the west. Make sure you come at this point from the north, as it’s at the top of the cliffs over the road so you need to walk through the forest to reach it.
Once you reach the location drop him in the hole like Tibor asks. There will then be an automatic scene with him being buried, which you should say “Amen” at the end of to increase your rep with the Nomads. You will then automatically return to the camp to speak about the Amulet.
Get the Voivode’s letter of safe conduct
Voivode explains that Marika has the letter of safe conduct, and he won’t consider giving the amulet until he has this back. You need to trek back over to her location in Apollonia to speak with her about it.
Drive the wolves away!
When you reach the cave again there will be a group of wolves you need to drive away. If you are trying to earn the trophy/achievement Lent DO NOT attack them with weapons. The small space makes kicking the wolves very easy as they can’t run away, so you can make much quicker work of these ones than any of the other groups you can deal within this way.
Once you deal with the wolves go into the cave and speak with Marika. For the best quest outcome overall, you want to say “He cares about you.” > “I swear”.
Get Marika the Voivode’s amulet
After agreeing to her plan Marika will tell you the location she hid the letter in, which is nearby inside a tree near a small river.
Loot the Voivode’s letter of safe conduct then make your way back to the Nomads’ Camp and speak with Tibor before speaking with the Voivode. If you tell Tibor about the situation, he will suggest making a wager for it.
Make a bet with the Voivode for the amulet
You can then speak with the Voivode, where you will have the option of making a wager. If you haven’t spoken with Tibor first then this dialogue is not available.
Win the first round of the bet
The Voivode agrees to a bet of three challenges, with the first two possible ones being against Tibor. The first will be a horse race around the area.
Ride back to the camp around the pond
If you currently have Pebbles but without the Good Old Pebbles perk then this race will be very tough as Tibor is decently fast. The route is pretty straightforward and you can open your map to check the next objective location as you go. The main spot to watch out for is the west side of the pond where you cut into the small paths and along the cliffs before going into the main entrance to the Nomad camp.
Win the second round of the wager
Next up you will be fighting Tibor in a fistfight. It would be recommended that you complete the other unarmed combat missions in the area if you haven’t done so before this, starting from Melee at the Mill. This will give you a bunch of unarmed practice and XP. Tibor isn’t too tough, but he counters more than most of the other unarmed opponents and will be a bit tough to deal with if you’ve not tried the unarmed combat yet.
After successfully winning the wager, Henry will strongarm the Voivode into coming to give the amulet to Marika. This results in the best overall outcome for the quest with Marika coming back to the camp, and not angering a bunch of either townsfolk or the Nomads in the process.
