Starting Location: Lost Honour
This quest is started from a random encounter that occurs on the road between Horschan and Miskowitz. You can encounter this at any time of day by fast traveling between the two towns. At the crossroads in the middle of the forest, you will be stopped for an encounter called “Polite Armed Man”.
Stop for it and find Jezhek who should be standing nearby in the bushes calling to you.
He will say that he is attempting to ambush you, and you need to either pass one of the two initial skill checks or fight him and then stop attacking him immediately when he surrenders and speak to him again. Ask him about what he is doing, then in the conversation agree to help him with the “Maybe I can help you.” dialogue choice to start the quest.
Talk to Zavish of Garbow (Optional)
This is listed as an optional objective because you can search the camp and just take back Jezhek’s armour and horse on your own, but you will want to go through Zavish as this is required for the missable trophy/achievement Master of Masters. You can find him in Sigismund’s camp, typically at his tent opposite the Field chapel (when you walk by then entrance to where his tent is you will be prompted to look at Jezhek’s shield).
Do not attempt to walk into the tent though, as it is considered a private area and the soldier outside will get mad. Wait for Zahvish to leave the tent or walk close to and then back aware from the tent to alert him and the guard so you can talk to him outside.
Accept Zavish of Garbow’s challenge
Zavish won’t allow you to just buy the items back, you need to challenge him for them. This requires passing a skill check with either the Warfare skill which needs to be very high, or the Domination skill which can be at 24 to pass. If you aren’t this high on it before speaking to him, make sure you are wearing any items you have that increase Charisma and drink some alcohol if needed.
Prepare to fight Zavish of Garbow
You will challenge Zavish in three different disciplines to receive the items. You fight him first with a Polearm, then with a Shield and any one-handed weapon, then with a two-handed sword. You need all of these in your inventory before you can challenge him to the fights.
All three can be purchased from within the camp if you need, though they aren’t very high level so if you try out the duels and are struggling you can obtain better weapons from bandits around the region or purchase some (very expensive) ones in the city of Kuttenberg. The smithy directly north of Zavish’s tent sells all weapons, and the one directly east sells shields. If you haven’t fought with any of the weapons yet (most likely the polearm if you haven’t been actively trying it out) you can also try fighting other enemies with them first to level your skills a bit and practice. You should also make sure you are wearing full heavy armour including a closable helmet before starting, as Zavish will instantly cause bleeding with some attacks if he hits you anywhere unprotected.
Once you are prepared, make sure to make a hard save then you can return to Zavish’s tent and confirm paying him the 300 Groschen bet to start the duel.
Defeat Zavish of Garbow in a duel
You will fight Zavish in all three duels in a row in the camp arena. You don’t need to worry about healing your health in between, as you can speak to Bathwench Dorothy to heal between each fight. Your armour isn’t automatically repaired though, so if needed you can quickly run to the nearby smithy and pay for repairs then come back to the arena. In between the fights Zavish also goes to heal, and if he’s taking too long you can stand in the arena and skip time by an hour to get him to come back without waiting.
Grab your polearm and get into position
You will have to equip your weapons yourself before the duel starts, the game won’t automatically do it. You can use this opportunity to drink potions as well. Artemisia, Buck’s Blood, and Aqua Vitalis are good options to prevent you from taking too much damage and to wear Zavish down quickly.
The polearm fight will probably be the hardest one unless you have chosen to spend most of the game playing with a polearm. It has a more basic moveset than other weapons and you can’t do master strikes with it, so you can only perfect block and counter, or try to find an opening between Zavish’s attacks. One method that can work is pushing him into the corner, then thrusting toward him as he starts his own attacks, catching him during the long animations. Make sure you aren’t standing too close to him though, or the game will prevent you can starting thrusting attacks (the point on the bottom of the UI will be greyed out if you are too close).
More tips:
- If you get stuck you can reload the last autosave to get better weapons/higher skill level.
- It’s best to bring multiple polearms because they break pretty fast, you can buy 4 of them from the blacksmith in Sigismund’s camp. When one breaks switch to the next.
- At polearm level 5 this is almost impossible because he will block 95% of your attacks and you do barely any damage. At Polearm level 10+ it will be significantly easier as he blocks less frequently and you deal more damage.
- You can quickly raise the skill by fast traveling to get random bandit encounters and beating them up. It takes around 30 minutes to raise the polearm skill from 5 to 10 but it’s better than wasting an hour getting stuck in the duel here. Also buy polearm perks from the Player Menu after you leveled up the skill (for example, the one that increases weapon durability by 25%).
- Make sure the polearms you use are within your skill levels (no red number on the skill requirement when you inspect the weapon). Only use polearms for which you have sufficient skill levels, otherwise they will do reduced damage and consume more stamina.
Get your one-handed weapon and shield ready and get into position
For the next fight, you will need to equip a shield and your choice of one-handed weapon. If you haven’t spent a lot of time with heavy weapons (maces) you are probably better off using a short sword for the increased combat stats, even though maces are better for fighting other enemies with shields. The easiest way to win this fight is to perform Master strikes for guaranteed damage, otherwise you will have a lengthy back and forth perfect blocking and countering each other.
Prepare a longsword and get into position
For the final fight, equip your longsword. This is the weapon Zavish is strongest with and he will actively perform Master strikes on you if you are just perfect blocking and countering, so you should try to either try to only do Master strikes to him, or perfect block and attack then avoid countering, and instead try to perform full combos. If you have reforged Radzig Kobyla’s sword this is one of the best options, and you can beat Zavish with a single Master strike if your stats are high enough.
If you have beat Zavish in all three duels in a row, you will earn Master of Masters once the announcer confirms the results of the fight.
Talk to Zavish about the duel
Once you have beaten Zavish for the third time, speak to him again in the arena to confirm the win. He will concede and tell you that you can take Jezhek’s items as well as your bet.
Get Sir Jezhek’s armour
Jezkeh’s armour is located in Zavish’s tent. The map icons might look a bit weird, but all items are located inside the chest in his tent, along with the Brigandine that is sitting on the ground directly beside it.
Get Jezhek’s horse, Gringolet
Jezkek’s horse is the one in the yellow cape, located in the stable south of the Field Chapel.
Take Jezhek of Holohlavy’s armour to him/Take Jezhek’s horse to Pschitoky
Now with all the items obtained you can head to the inn located on the main road that is south of the main town of Pschitoky. There isn’t a fast travel point there, but you can travel to Pschitoky and then head south to the inn.
Park the horse inside the central yard of the inn, then head inside and speak with Jezhek to tell him what has happened, completing the quest. You have the option to lie to him about what happened to keep the items for a worse overall outcome, or tell him the truth and he will take back his armor, but reward you with a unique shield, spurs with an extremely high charisma stat, and some groschen.
This finishes Lost Honour side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Jow says
I literally spent 1 hour fighting him with polearms, I hit him over 70 times and nothing happens, it gets to a point where both of our weapons break. I’ve tried more than 10 times and it seems impossible to me, even if I don’t lose, the fight is endless.
PowerPyx says
Raise your Polearm skill, can be done by fast traveling to get random bandit encounters and fighting them. I had the same issue at skill level 5, he blocks too often and you do too little damage. At Polearm skill 10 I did it 1st try. Also drink a bunch of potions that raise your stats (Strength etc) so you do more damage.
If your polearms break buy 4 or even more of them. When one breaks switch to another.

This quest is bugged here, I give him the 300 grochen and he doesn’t stand up, he always sitting and never fights me.
Sara says
Hey, try to ask him again at 7 am as he wants to fight in the morning only.
maximus says
did you find a way to fix it i have the same bug
Sony_boy says
Did you find a way out? I give 300 gros, but the battle does not start?
Henry of Skalitz says
you need to get the items required for the duel or else you won’t be able to start the tournament by speaking to him.
get your one hander (i forged a sword) and shield (bought from the armorsmith nearby), great sword, and polarm in your inventory (be sure none of them are stolen) and speak to him to begin with your 300 groschen.
Dolas says
It’s a very good game but it’s very buggy, in this mission I win the first fight and when I simply put on the shield and the one-handed weapon, my character is teleported to a lump and the objective is failed.
Jason says
i cant seem to get the encounter to happen.i have no idea if i ridden by him and didnt see him. and im at the point at the story when you are looking for Samuel.
Jason says
i happened to just try and load a save back, i think its not available once you are at the quest “The Devil’s Pack”, so the gang must be assambled after you have done the quest. Or it might also have to do that i have completed quests in Sigismund’s Camp and relieved the vendors from their belonging multiple times.
PowerPyx says
I did it during Main Quest 24 before the Point of No Return, it was still there for me.
Jason says
Ah so I most likely either brushed him off or thought he was a bandit and killed him. Thanks for the clarification
Jason says
I’ve just started the mission “Oratores”, turns out I lost to the guy when we apparently fought. I met him randomly at the tavern that’s on the main road that leads to kuttenberg, it’s on the main road south of Pschitoky and north of Bylany.
Alex Jones says
Wow I found him at that tavern too! It seems I ran away on just went past him at some point and he ended up going to the tavern. Please add this to the guide!
Brandon says
The best part about this is after completing the quest you can pickpocket jezhek take all his armour back then go outside and steal his horse again lol.
Martin says
After beating Zavish 3-0, I waited until night, distracted his guard using a stone the steal all his armor and weapons while he is asleep lol. So worth it ????
maximus says
it’s bugged he just sits there atfer i give the money for the fight,i waited every hour of the game and still nothig
Sony_boy says
found the problem, you need to give him 300 but if you dont have another 300 on you it wont start
Lee says
I cant get duel 2 to commence. Tried everything
