February 6, 2025 by Gage 5 Comments

Bad Blood is a side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Bad Blood side mission.

  • Reward: Pavlena available as trader (best outcome)
  • Quest Type: Side Quest
  • Quest Description: Pavelan, the daughter of Bozhena the herb woman, did not return from her errands in Troskowitz. I promised to help Bozhena because, after all, Lord Capon and I are in their debt.

Objectives:

  1. Find Pavelena
  2. Search Pavlena’s room (optional)
  3. Ask about Pavelena in Troskowitz
  4. Ask the woodcutters about Pavelena
  5. Ask Jezhek the cooper about Pavlena
  6. Check Jezhek’s alibi
  7. Ask the Bailiff about Pavlena
  8. Ask Jakesh about Bozhena’s past
  9. Search Roman’s house
  10. Return to Dushko
  11. Find the clearing the Dushko mentioned
  12. Search the crime scene
  13. Save Pavlena
  14. Return to Bozhena the herb woman
  15. Kill Farmer Jakesh
  16. Tell Bozhena about reconciliation with Jakesh

Starting Location: Bad Blood

To start this quest, return to Herbwoman Bozhena any time after the start of Main Quest 5: Wedding Crashers.

Find Pavelena

Bozhena wants you to look for Pavelan, who has been away from home for a considerable amount of time.

Search Pavlena’s room (optional)

You can start by searching Pavelan’s room for any clues to where she might be. This is not really helpful for the quest overall, but you can do it regardless. You can interact with the floor to inspect the baskets, but the main thing to check is the Felt cap on the chair.

You can then speak with Bhozena about your findings, but she won’t have any new information.

Ask about Pavelena in Troskowitz

You can then head to Troskowitz to ask around about Pavlena. You can ask various people, and someone will likely point you towards the woodcutters.

Ask the woodcutters about Pavelena

The woodcutters are located on the east side of the town. Walk around the area until you hear a man yelling about someone named Roman. This is Woodcutter Dushko, whom you need to speak to. During the day, he will typically be walking up and down the road yelling. If you don’t spot him after doing a lap of the area, try waiting an hour and looking around again.

Ask him for info about Roman and during the conversation you should press him on why Roman and Pavlena would want to leave town. You can then pass one of three skill checks to get further information, go with whichever between Persuasion and Impression that you have a higher level in.

Ask Jezhek the cooper about Pavlena

You can go ask Jezhek for info if Roman mentioned him to you. He is typically located on the southwest side of town. You can ask him whichever questions you want and he’ll tell you where he was.

Check Jezhek’s alibi

You can go to the Tavern and speak with Innkeeper Betty about what happened with Jezhek. She’ll confirm what Jezhek said about the fight, which doesn’t give you much information. You can ask her directly about Pavlena if you hadn’t spoken with her prior, and she suggests speaking with the Bailiff. You can press her further and she’ll also suggest speaking with Jakesh about what happened with Bozhena in the past.

Ask the Bailiff about Pavlena

The Bailiff will probably be wandering around town somewhere during the day. If you’ve asked all prior people he won’t have any new information for you.

Ask Jakesh about Bozhena’s past

Finally, you can head to Jakesh whose house is located at the southeast corner of town. During the day he may be praying at the grave located near the trees in his yard.

You can ask him for information on his son and about what happened with Bohzena. There will be a point where you can pass a speech check to ask if he wants revenge, which is important for the best outcome of the quest later on.

Search Roman’s house

With all the possible people in town spoken to, you can then search Roman’s house like Dushko suggested. It is located immediately west of the pond with the laundry spot. You can enter by picking the Very Easy locked front door.

Go into the first room on the left, then inspect the fully set table.

Return to Dushko

You can then return to Dushko and talk about the information you’ve found. He’ll suggest checking a location south of town.

Find the clearing the Dushko mentioned

Head to the marked spot which is a clearing in the middle of the woods.

Search the crime scene

In the area you can see blood everywhere, and need to find out what happened. You can interact with a few items around the area, but the main thing to look for is near the large tree where you can pick up a Torn piece of dress.

If you have Mutt with you, you can get him to track using the dress piece.

Mutt will slowly lead you to the southwest down the river, then up a path into the cliffs. If you don’t have Mutt with you, you can just go to this location on your own.

When you reach the area you will be attacked by a dog. If you are going for the trophy/achievement Lent DO NOT attack the dog with a weapon. Only attack it with kicking, or completely avoid it and just climb the ladder leading up into the cliffs.

Save Pavlena

After you climb the ladder stop immediately and negotiate with the man holding Pavlena.

During the negotiation you have the option of passing a number of speech checks, but if you want to get out of it without needing to pass any of them, pick the top option twice and then select the option “Pavelena’s pregnant.” You can then say you will let him go, and Pavlena will kill him without you needing to do anything further.

Once she is free, speak with Pavlena. You can ask her questions about what happened, then either return to Bohzena’s with her immediately or on your own later.

Return to Bozhena the herb woman

Once you return with Pavlena, Bozhena asks for you to kill Jakesh, as she believes he wanted the hands to harm Pavlena. You can pass a Hard speech check to put her off, but it is easier to agree for now.

Kill Farmer Jakesh

Head back to Jakesh’s house in Troskowitz. Instead of immediately attacking with him, you should speak and you can resolve the end of the quest without murdering him.

For an outcome to avoid killing him, you can choose the options: “I’ve come to kill you.” > “You lie! Your hands did it!” > “I’ll try to patch things up between you.”

Tell Bozhena about reconciliation with Jakesh

You can then go back to Bozhena’s once more to tell her about Jakesh’s proposal. You have the option of keeping the money gave you, or giving it to Bozhena which convinces her of his commitment. Bozhena offers you to keep half of the amount if you want, or let her have all of it.

This finishes Bad Blood side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Is it important for Jakesh to survive this, I killed him as there wasn’t a guide up for this quest at the time

Doesn’t really matter outside of getting the “best” quest outcome, there’s no subsequent quests related to this.

    SPOILER BELOW:

If you pass the Hard speech check and thus choose NOT to kill Jakesh……well, bottom line is Bozhena hangs herself in her hut and, some time later (in-game days), Pavlena is hung by the good people of Troskowitz…

If you choose not to escort Pavlena back to home, chances are there may be something wrong happen on the road, leading to an odd dialogue that Henry report to Bohzena her daughter’s death after successful rescue and fail the whole quest.
