Kena Bridge of Spirits Trophy Roadmap
- Estimated trophy difficulty: 7/10 due to Master difficulty being quite challenging
- Approximate amount of time to platinum: 20-25 Hours
- Offline Trophies: 42 (1, 3,9, 29)
- Online Trophies: 0
- Number of missable trophies: Basically all 9 of the combat-related trophies, because there are very limited enemies outside of the story and they don’t respawn, but you need 2 playthroughs anyway so you get a second chance if you missed anything – Piercing Blow, Weigh Them Down, Quick Draw, Bow Master, Sharpshooter, Between the Eyes, Return to Sender, Triple Threat, Triple Tap
- Glitched trophies: 2 – No Stone Unturned, Zen Master (there are some reports of the trophies for all Rots / Meditation Spots not unlocking, even though all have been collected. This only affects some players, not everyone)
- Does difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, must beat game on the highest difficulty “Master difficulty” for Master Spirit Guide.
- Minimum Playthroughs: 2 (1 on any difficulty to unlock Master difficulty, then 1 Master difficulty playthrough).
- PS4/PS5 Autopop & Save Transfer: No Save Transfer available, no Autopop available.
- Free-Roam / Level Select after Story?: Yes, after finishing the story you will be put back in the Title Screen and can select “Continue” to be put back before the final cutscene. Can continue exploring and go back to all regions to still gather all Collectibles.
- Release Date: September 21, 2021
Introduction
Welcome to the Kena Bridge of Spirits Trophy Guide! This is a relatively straightforward platinum trophy. About half the trophies are automatic story unlocks, a quarter is combat-related, and the other quarter is for finding all Collectibles of each type. To get platinum you need 100% completion, which means all 210 Collectibles and beating the game on the highest difficulty. Because the highest difficulty isn’t available from the start you must beat the game once on any difficulty to unlock it (the easiest difficulty will suffice) and then replay it a second time on Master difficulty. The only thing to really watch out for are the combat-related trophies because enemies don’t respawn. But with some clever saves (explained in Roadmap Step 1) you can go back to important sections quickly. Do note that there is no save game transfer between the PS4/PS5 versions, so if you want to platinum both console versions you must redo everything and can’t autopop the trophies.
Step 1: Finish Story on Any Difficulty & Combat-Related Trophies
Because Master difficulty isn’t unlocked from the start, you must first beat the game on any other difficulty to unlock it. Playing on the lowest difficulty “Story Mode” will suffice for this. Along the way you’ll want to pay attention to the combat-related trophies, because all of them are technically missable. There are very limited enemies outside of the main story and enemies don’t respawn.
- Piercing Blow – Hit 3 Enemies with a single Rot Infused Arrow.
- Weigh Them Down – Destroyed a Moth enemy with a Bomb.
- Quick Draw – Hit 3 critical hit spots in 3 seconds.
- Bow Master – Hit 3 enemies with a single Multi-shot.
- Sharpshooter – Defeated an enemy by shooting a Bomb out of the air.
- Between the Eyes – Destroyed a Shield Sticks without breaking his shield.
- Return to Sender – Destroyed a Mage with its own bomb.
- Triple Threat – Destroyed 3 enemies with a single Parry.
- Triple Tap – Destroyed 3 enemies with a single dash attack.
If you miss anything don’t worry, you’ll need a 2nd playthrough on Master difficulty anyway and can do it then. Additionally, feel free to keep Manual Save Games from the start of the following regions so you can reload later to still get the combat trophies: Forgotten Forest, Fields, Village Heart, Village after getting “Dash” Ability.
Many of the Collectibles won’t be available on the first visit to a region and some are automatic story unlocks later in the game. You can grab what you find on your own, but it’s easier to clean up Collectibles after the story when you have access to all abilities and fast travel points.
You should also spend your skill points as soon as you can afford a new skill. There are some reports of a glitch that randomly resets your skill points. Normally, you get more than enough points to max out all skills just from story and collectibles, but if you had large amounts of skill points reset due to the glitch, it could lock you out of the trophy for buying all skills.
Step 2: Collectibles Cleanup
After the story you are placed in the Title Screen. Simply click “Continue” and it will put you back before the final cutscene. From there you can return to all regions and still find all Collectibles. There are 210 Collectibles in total (100 Rots, 51 Hats, 24 Flower Shrines, 10 Spirit Mail, 13 Cursed Chests, 12 Meditation Spots). Everything is needed for trophies. There’s a tracker on the map for each region, except for Meditation Spots which aren’t tracked.
» Kena Bridge of Spirits – All Collectible Locations
Step 3: Master Difficulty Playthrough
The last step and the only difficult part for Platinum is finishing Master Difficulty. There is no New Game+ option, so you need to start a completely new game from scratch. Beat the game a second time on this difficulty. If you missed any combat trophies earlier you can do them along the way too.
If you bought the game before patch 1.06 and never updated it, you’re in luck. There’s an exploit that works up to Patch 1.05 (and all older patches) on both PS4 & PS5. However, this has been patched as of 1.06 and no longer works. Only if you got the game before the patch and never updated it you can do this. The physical disc release is already patched to 1.06 and can’t be downgraded, same if you buy the digital edition it already comes with latest patch preinstalled. If somehow you still have access to a non-patched version of the game from when it first released, see Master Difficulty Exploit.

A Heavy Hammer Defeated the Corrupted Woodsmith. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. In the beginning of the fight, you’ll want to throw bombs at the statue in the middle and then shoot the glowing dot in it with your bow until it explodes. Then the boss becomes vulnerable and you can deal damage to him. Repeat this a few times until the statue in the middle gets completely destroyed. Then the boss is fully vulnerable. Be wary of the rings of fire he casts on the ground, you must jump them to not get hit.
A Leader Walks Alone Defeated Corrupted Toshi. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. For this boss use the + Dash ability, then perform quick attacks. Hitting him with Dash will keep him stunned throughout the fight.
Restore Balance Defeated the Corrupted Rot God. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. In the first phase, you must hit the weakspots on the boss with your bow (they look like purple blisters). Then you get teleported to a new area where you must defeat some mobs and get some of your rots back. The second phase is similar to the 1st, you must again shoot the weakspots on his skin. Then you have to do a round of platforming, must aim your bow at the blue flowers on the walls to jump between platforms (at one point, you must + dash and then do a double-jump and aim in mid-air to reach a faraway grappling point that won’t be lit up otherwise). Then in the 3rd boss phase you need to wait until the spears on his back glow yellow and + use your rots on them, who will pull out the spears. You must repeat this until all spears have been pulled, waiting until he powers them up again (yellow glow). Then the boss falls to the ground and you must use your rots on his heart to deal the final blow and defeat him.
Piercing Blow Hit 3 Enemies with a single Rot Infused Arrow. |
||
First you must buy the Upgrade “Rot Infused Arrow”, which costs 200 Upgrade Points. It’s under the “Rot” column on the right side of the Upgrades Menu, the third skill from the top.
It allows you to hold while drawing your bow to create a Rot Infused Arrow ( + + ). Now you must line up 3 enemies in a row close together. The arrow needs to pierce through the 3 enemies to unlock the trophy. The ability preview video in the Upgrades Menu shows an example of how to do this. |
||
Weigh Them Down Destroyed a Moth enemy with a Bomb. |
||
First, you must advance the story until you unlock the Bomb ability, which happens about halfway through the story, in the Storehouse region. It’s an automatic story unlock, can’t be missed.
After this you will be able to throw bombs with + . Do this to one of the moth-type enemies (little flying creatures). The bomb will explode on its own after a few seconds, or you can shoot it to make it explode immediately. This will kill the moth and unlocks the trophy. For example, you can find a group of moths in the next enemy encounter right after learning the Bomb ability, which is a perfect place to do this. |
||
Quick Draw Hit 3 critical hit spots in 3 seconds. |
||
An easy way to do this is against the small red explosive enemies that spawn from the “Fields” region onward (near end of story). Hitting the red glowing sack on their backs counts as a “critical hit spot” and makes them explode instantly. Normal enemies have yellow critical spots but those are smaller and harder to hit, whereas the red explosive enemies have their whole body count as a critical spot. For example, you can do this while the story takes you into the Village Heart, during Objective “Adira’s Regret – Clear the Corruption in the Village Heart Caves”. On your way to clearing the Corruption of the Village Heart, you will be on a platform that moves you through red water, with many red explosive enemies coming towards you. Here you are basically forced to shoot them quickly so they don’t reach your platform. They also keep spawning infinitely in groups of 3 until you defeat the other enemy types in the area, so this spot is a perfect opportunity and odds are you’ll get it naturally here without trying. Just don’t charge up your bow shots and instead release the arrows in quick succession (only tap , don’t hold to charge your shots). |
||
Bow Master Hit 3 enemies with a single Multi-shot. |
||
First, you must buy the Upgrade “Bind Multishot”, which costs 200 Upgrade Points. It’s in the 3rd row of Kena’s Upgrades, in the Bow Section.
Now throw a Rot at an enemy with + to bind this enemy, then shoot that same enemy with an arrow. This will make your arrows split up to hit multiple other nearby enemies. Make sure there are another 3 enemies around. The Ability preview video in the Upgrades Menu shows an example of how to do this. |
||
Sharpshooter Defeated an enemy by shooting a Bomb out of the air. |
||
The “Bomb” Ability is unlocked automatically from the story in the Storehouse region (a little more than halfway through the game).
You can then throw bombs by holding to aim and to throw. You must then shoot the bomb while it’s flying in the air, before it sticks on to an enemy. After throwing it you can jump and aim to slow down time in mid-air. This makes it easier to hit the bomb. |
||
Between the Eyes Destroyed a Shield Sticks without breaking his shield. |
||
Shield Sticks are the enemies that carry big shields, which can only be destroyed by doing heavy attacks ( ). For this trophy, however, you aren’t allowed to break the shield and must attack such an enemy from behind to defeat it. They aren’t shielded on their backs. You can do this by dodging behind them ( ) and then doing some quick attacks ( ).
You can make it easier by binding these enemies with your Rots ( + ). Alternatively, can also shoot them with the bow, which is a weapon unlocked from story progress. |
||
Return to Sender Destroyed a Mage with its own bomb. |
||
There are only a few Mages during the story, making this one of the more easily missable combat trophies. All of them are automatic story-related encounters. The first one is after restoring all of the Ancient Shrines in Forgotten Forest, he will be a miniboss with a healthbar at the top of the screen. Then you fight another 2 on your way to clearing the corruption in the Village Heart Caves. As soon as you encounter a Mage, create a Manual Save, so you can keep retrying if he dies by accident. Weaken him so he will die in one hit (use the bow for this). Wait until the Mage casts a red orb that homes in on you, that’s his “bomb”. What you must do is to press just before this red orb hits you, thus performing a parry and throwing the orb back at him. If the Mage dies from this you earn the trophy. There will be a short animation / mini-cutscene in which Kena throws the orb back, that’s how you know you did it correctly. The timing of this is very tricky and it can take a few minutes to get it right. Press down for 2 seconds in the exact moment the red orb is about to hit you. If you press too early it will hit your shield, if you press too late it will hit you directly. The timing has to be absolutely perfect. You don’t need any Upgrades for this. It can be done with the default Shield without any upgrades. |
||
Triple Threat Destroyed 3 enemies with a single Parry. |
||
To parry you must press just before an enemy attack hits you. Find 3 enemies and weaken them enough that they’ll die in one more hit. The bow is perfect for lowering their health. Then parry one of them when they are close together. The Parry deals damage over a small area so all 3 should die at once if they’re close enough together. Press down for 2 seconds in the exact moment the enemy attack about to hit you. If you press too early it will hit your shield, if you press too late it will hit you directly. The timing has to be absolutely perfect. It’s a bit tricky and can take a few minutes to get the timing perfectly. You don’t need any Upgrades for this. It can be done with the default Shield without any upgrades. |
||
Rot Commander Use 5 Rot Actions in a single combat. |
||
This will likely be one of your first trophies and should come naturally. During any combat encounter, use , or + 5 times to perform Rot actions. You can use these on most enemies, which will make your Rots swarm them and dealing damage over time. To perform a Rot Action you must have one Courage point charged, those are the golden dots in the bottom left of the screen. You gain Courage during combat by simply defeating enemies and pressing to absorb the golden orbs they drop.
Triple Tap Destroyed 3 enemies with a single dash attack. |
||
The Dash Ability is unlocked near the end of the story, after returning from the Village Heart region to the main Village. You can then perform a Dash by pressing + . This will make you warp forward a few meters and deals damage to any enemies it hits. The attack deals damage in a very small radius (about 1 meter / yard). So the enemies need to be extremely close together for this to work and you can only do it in the late game after acquiring the ability. A good location for this is the first enemy group on the Mask Maker path of the Village, which is immediately after getting the Dash ability. There will be 3 small enemies and some ranged enemies that don’t move. Weaken them up so they’ll die in 1 more hit. The non-moving ranged enemy is an easy target to hit. Now just lure the 3 smaller enemies near it and do the Dash on the group. |

Master Spirit Guide Beat the game on Master difficulty |
||
Master difficulty is unlocked after beating the game one time on any other difficulty, the easiest difficulty “Story Mode” will suffice. Master difficulty is NOT available from the start. This means you need to do it in a 2nd playthrough.
On Master difficulty, Courage (what you use to use your Rot Abilities and heal yourself) is lost when taking damage. Enemies are much more aggressive, have more health, and deal more damage. On this difficulty you die in about 2-3 hits. You need to get good at dodging and parrying (pressing just before an enemy attack hits you). There is no “New Game+”, meaning you must start a wholly New Game without upgrades. If you already found all Collectibles previously, you’ll have a good idea where they are and can grab the majority of them again along the way. They provide you stat boosts which makes it a bit easier.

Massive thanks to the following people for sending tips:
ToxTheViking = Found Master Difficulty Exploit
DK (SnowNinjaRaccoon), FranciRoosters = Collectibles
Changelog:
- 2021-09-22: Master Difficulty Exploit has been found and added. Difficulty Rating & Time to Plat when using this Exploit have been added.
- 2021-11-18: It’s confirmed that the physical disc release comes with version 1.06 preinstalled, so the Master Difficulty Exploit is impossible now. The Overview, Roadmap, Trophy Description have been updated to mention that this doesn’t work anymore, so there’s effectively no way to do the exploit anymore.
PowerPyx says
Notes:
– I still need to add in videos for the combat trophies with best places
– Collectible Guide is mostly done, just last 2 regions left.
– Rest done.
UPDATE: Master difficulty exploit has been added. Makes the plat much faster and easier, you can pop it instantly after having finished the game on Story difficulty (no need to play highest difficulty at all). Currently confirmed to work on PS5 with patch 1.04 installed. Still needs confirmation if it works on PS4.
CallePwN says
You are amazing. Thanks, as always!
Matt says
I can’t get the game to update to 1.04. Checking for update doesn’t find one and my game is on 1.03. The master difficulty exploit isn’t working on 1.03
PowerPyx says
Patch version shouldn’t matter. It also works with anything older than 1.04. Had a friend do it on 1.03 just fine.
DanTheMan1999 says
Been unable to replicate the master exploit on PS5. I’ve replicated all the steps, but my game is only version 1.03. I have no option to update it either.
Migix959595 says
hi pyx, the glitch don’t work for me, i have a ps5 versione but patch 1.03 not 1.04(if i try to update , the console tell me that there aren’t new update… and for me is impossible do a glitch.. with patch 1.03 dont work… EU version Italy )
PowerPyx says
Not sure what’s going on with the difference in patch versions. For some people it’s on version 1.03, for some on 1.04. Might be an issue with Sony patch servers depending on what country you’re from. I know someone else from Italy whose version is 1.03 (EU version). I have the EU version and it’s 1.04 on both PS4/PS5.
But I can confirm the patch version doesn’t matter at all. I have friends who did it on 1.03 and others who did it on 1.04.
PhantomFear94 says
I really hope this isn’t patched in the next couple of weeks.
migix959595 says
I try a lot of times but nothing
1) i start the game and charge my savefile (i respawn on mountain sanctuary before the mediation point)
2) i do a manual save on the mediation point
3)start new game on master , after kena press L1 i recharge my manual save interact with mediation point and no trophy… what is the problem?
Ps: when i recharge manual save i respawn near warp station and not inside mediation point… it is normal?
MaaXz says
If the trophy doesn’t pop. Play 2 minutes to get the first rot. Then load the save game.
Cyber says
I got the master trophy on the version 1.03 by doing the following:
– same steps as mentioned above except for :
Instead of immediate load back to the manual save at mt. shrine, progress a little bit on master difficulty until you get the first rot after that load back to the manual save and meditate and it should unlock by doing so.
Best of luck
PowerPyx says
Thanks, I added a note about this to the guide! I saw many other people comment the same on here, so thanks for everyone who suggested/confirmed this.
Tiago Feike says
If the Trophy doesnt pop, play the master dificulty until you get the first rot, after that load your manual save on the top of the mountain ?
George says
Hi everyone,
I can confirm that there’s a way to get the Master Difficulty Trophy even with Patch 1.16.
I’ve found yesterday the solution it’s on PSNProfiles, with which you can jump on the Bridge that is from the right side of the Village and leads to the final part of the game.
Then you’ve to reload the old save file (a save file with the game in the last waypoint stone before the meditation spot, before the final cutscene of the game).
There while pushing the button to meditate you have to instantly (before the cutscene starts) load the Master Difficulty file and then the cutscene runs normally until you arrive to the credits where the Trophy pops out.
Initially I thought that it’s a joke, but the thing actually works!
Here it is:

Corey says
It’s definitely not a 7 it’s definitely a 9/10
Sergio says
for Between the Eyes, an easy and early way to do it is to Aim with L2 and then press Square to use the Rots on the enemy a couple of times, avoiding to do any melee hit. Also another way is once you have the bow, shoot an arrow to the forehead using the shield opening.
PowerPyx says
Added these as alternatives, thanks 🙂
Jimmy says
I just beat the very first one I came across in the game by dodging behind him and hitting him. Easy.
Mark says
Don’t we have checkpoints before bosses and after each loose forced to pass few waves of enemies before starting boss fight again?
Sherwin says
For the collectibles, you mention there is a tracker, but are they also on the map? I’m not really looking forward to having to comb the world for 200 collectibles.
PowerPyx says
They aren’t marked on the map.
Cocka says
How bad is master difficulty?
That’s the real question.
Also i thought Sony dropped difficulty related trophies in their exclusive games.
CharlieB says
That’s only Sony first party exclusives. Kena isn’t a first party game, it was independently developed and published by Ember Labs. That’s why it’s available on PC same day as PS4/PS5.
Kimochi says
It’s not a Sony game
Luap says
How hard is the master difficulty? I want to know if it’s worth even trying for the platinum if the master difficulty is almost impossible
TV-Station says
3 hit and your are death. self the llittlest Enemys can take much hits. 4 to 6 hits before they are down…
If a Enemy with as small woodkinght/Sproud and higher appear, you will have a hard time.
its really hard, but you do not fall long back…
Elvis says
What about transferring the save from PS4 to PS5, if I got a Platinum already on PS4 version,
Will I get all of the Trophies again or some may pop?
PowerPyx says
There’s no save game transfer between PS4/PS5. I’ll make a mention of it in the Introduction section.
G Mac says
How difficult is the game in general? I’ve read online that the combat is surprisingly very challenging.
Guy says
Generally I die on the first encounter of a boss figuring out their movements and gimmick. Once you know their tells for dodge/parry you’ll be okay in one or two more tries.
Bob says
Since some collectibles boost your stats, do you think it would be a good idea to leave collectibles for your Master Playthrough altogether, or it would be too much of a hassle with the increased difficulty?
PowerPyx says
I advise against doing the 100% completion on Master difficulty. There are Cursed Chests which require you to defeat certain amount of enemies within a time limit which would be a pain on Master. You’d just make it harder on yourself. Don’t do that.
John says
It’s kinda sucks they add trophy for Master Difficulty with no new game plus, starting a fresh game with no carry over. This is too much for an indie game, for sure a lot of people are going to complain about this trophy blocking from majority of getting platinum
Anonymous says
Thank you for the trophy guide. No New Game Plus for Master difficulty is disappointing since it would be nice to have all the upgrades and collectibles carry over to the second playthrough. Hoping Master difficulty won’t be too hard but dying in 2-3 hits and losing Courage when damaged sounds like it might be annoying but we’ll have to wait and see for PowerPyx to complete it to find out how hard it is.
There’s a PS4 and PS5 physical edition releasing in November 2021 that’s going to cost £42.99/$49.99 which in my opinion is way too expensive for a AA game like this (even if it looks amazing visually). Hopefully it’s not a limited run and will drop in price when retailers compete with each other and time passes.
Mason says
Omg that’s how you do the return to sender. I’m dumb I was just shooting it right before it left his hands. 2 hrs wasted lmao
Ben H says
Same! Also worth noting for PowerPyx, “Return to Sender” can be done using the Mage that spawns from the Corrupted Chest at the Docks. No need to use one of the story mages. There is at least one other non story mage in the Fields as well.
Jayden says
Only have master difficulty left to do for the trophies and my god. They really spiked up the difficulty.
I’d say it’s more unfair than Dark Souls and I’ve got the plat for all From Software games.
Having no true way to heal yourself minus random flowers in boss battles that may or may not even be there.
Plus you barely do any damage at all.
It’s kind of crazy how big of a leap the difficulty goes
PhantomFear94 says
Can you ‘brute force’ your way through the game w/ checkpoints? I’m finishing up Deathloop first (hopefully tomorrow, definitely by weekend).
WizardKid says
Imat the final boss on master, my ass got kicked alot of times, literally his health was 2% and he killed me.
Corey says
They didn’t make it better on new game plus
WizardKid says
This game is a nightmare on Master difficulty, I am stuck at hunter and mask maker mini boss fights before the last boss!! A nightmare. You can’t do anything except getting destroyed each time. Can’t even believe I reached this part.
WizardKid says
Never-ending, killed both of them.
Jose says
There’s a cursed chest in the village’s heart area wich is imposible! 15 enemies in 1 minute. I almost kill 14 one time but it’s very difficult to get. Any ideas?
TV-Station says
use Both with infused Rott. so you cann cill 2-3 with 1 shot.
I do had 10 sec. left
RTC says
Not the best trophy list, the replay on Master difficulty without New Game+ is very annoying. Not a fan of reply trophies as is it but this one just seems annoying.
PhantomFear94 says
I really, really hope that the Master difficulty is not patched before I get chance to get to this (weekend). Looks a royal PITA.
Flobot says
On PS5, my game is on 1.03 – have checked for updates, but nothing available. Not sure what’s going on with the versions as this guide and a few other sites are all referencing 1.04
Be interesting to know if this has something to do with the glitch for Master difficulty.
SkullBones says
Exploit is not working. When pressing L1 should we press options before the animation finishes?
PowerPyx says
After the animation finishes, when you can walk around.
SkullBones says
There must be something else. I am doing exactly as instructed and it doesn’t seem to work. 🙁
eag1z says
If it doesn’t work, wait until you get the first rot instead
Jc says
Hi pyx, the master difficulty glitch doesn’t work for me. My version is 1.04 on ps5
Twiggah says
For me the triple tap trophy is bugged.. I tried it like 10 times and did it perfect with one dash but the trophy didn’t pop up.
Someone have the same issues?
MohandGamer7 says
This trophy took me about an hour to get, it doesn’t seem to be glitched but i noticed that you might need to be away from the enemies a little when trying to start the dodge. Like don’t be too close
Twiggah says
Thanks man finally got the trophy with your tip 🙂
J Doggg says
the same thing happened to me, eventually unlocked when I switched to the easiest difficulty while re-trying many times. No idea but you might give it a shot.
Ricky says
Seems to be glitched for me as well. I know I’ve killed 3 guys with dash serval times and the trophy hasn’t pop
Rihslash says
I had to try this one like 7 times to get the trophy.
C4Bomber says
The exploit worked for me (PS4, patch 1.04). I followed the instructions exactly as stated.
Pressed options during the animation for the L1 button.
Michael Whitman says
Are the combat trophies listed above in order?
PowerPyx says
You can do them in any order you like, so there is no “fixed order”. There are multiple opportunities for everything throughout the game. Only exception would be Triple Tap which would likely be your last one because it’s tied to the last ability you unlock. Just keep some manual saves as described in Step 1.
Angel says
There is an alternative way to do the master difficulty glitch if you are not able to do it with the method mentioned on the guide above!
If you did all steps but still couldn’t make it work simply start a new game on Master difficulty and play up to the point where you get your first Rot (3-5 min), right after you get if simply Load your game where you save on the Mountain Shrine and you should be able to Meditate and then pop the trophy!
Matt says
Is there anything that I need to keep an eye on for “Skillful Spirit Guide” or do you get enough upgrade points from all the collectables?
jaktlicens says
i would also like to know this. i have completed the story and there doesnt seem to spawn any more enemies.
I need like 700 more karma for all the skills, i have a few collectibles to go. idk if it will be enough
all_eyez_on_me42 says
For the people who cant unlock the exploit on the PS5 on 1.03 here’s how to do it
1. Start a new game on Master Spirit dificulty
2. Play the game until you meet your first rot
3. Load the manual save
4. Trophy unlocked
(Not tested on the PS4)
SkullBones says
Works like a charm on PS4!
Kyle D McDaniel says
I can confirm the Master Difficulty Exploit works on ps4 as well!
PhantomFear94 says
How quick is the story to do whilst not going for any non-obvious collectibles? Can’t start this for a few days and I’m tempted to not do what I usually do (100% as I go) and just get the story and combat trophies so I can get Master difficulty done before an inevitable patch comes.
PowerPyx says
Story took me 6h, but I ignored all Collectibles on that run (just story, nothing else). I’d say 6-8h on easiest difficulty if you don’t bother with collectibles and just speed through it.
Mason says
Exploit worked for me on PS5 version 1.04. Gunna play the PS4 version 1.04 and just speed run it. ?
There’s also a new patch don’t know if it fixes it but definitely not closing the game or rest mode console.
PowerPyx says
For anyone wondering, the Master difficulty exploit still works on patch 1.05.
PhantomFear94 says
Potentially stupid question, but is there a way to avoid game updates on PS5? For example, I’m starting this on the weekend and I want to find the balance of enjoying the game whilst also not take so long that 1.06 comes out and potentially patches out this exploit. As it’s not a glitch – as such – I’m in two minds as to if this will be fixed. Generally, exploits like this don’t get fixed (e.g. Metro Exodus, BioShock, The Last of Us, etc.)
PowerPyx says
PS5 Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Automatic Updates > Auto-Download > Disable.
This turns off automatic patch downloads.
Totti says
Just to be sure – I will still get achievements ingame when disabling Auto-Updates, right?
Thanks for the guide!
PowerPyx says
Yes
PhantomFear94 says
Thanks PowerPyx. Bought the game at 1.05 and disabled as per your instruction.
Final question (please) – could we play offline and earn these if we really wanted to be safe? I know with Xbox you need to be online all the time (my main system) and it sort of forces you to update, but I heard you can still unlock trophies whilst offline on PS, it’ll just not sync-up until you’re back online. I have a PS5 for exclusives, mainly, so I’m not as educated on how their online management works.
PowerPyx says
Playing offline is fine for trophies.
Tim says
You could also save the cursed chests for the end so you can use those to get combat trophies if you missed any in the story.
Bigsushiroll says
If I purchase the game and disable auto install and auto update, will that most likely preserve the exploit? I don’t think I can finish the game before they patch the exploit out but I can definitely purchase it and let it sit on version 1.05
PowerPyx says
That should work, yes.
Buying it now while it still works would be best, because the game is digital-only and automatically downloads the latest patch automatically along with the game download. So if buying it after they patch it, there’s no way to downgrade. I assume when the disc version releases later this year they will have it be at a certain patch version built-in already, and not 1.00. So better to get it before they fix it.
Savantir07 says
Found a massive bug in the game. Don’t know how or when it happened but I lost ALL of my karma points randomly. PS5, version 1.05
This could make the Skillful Spirit Guide missable if there’s no way to farm after gathering everything. Just a heads up!
Kena says
Hi, I collected most of the trophies and yet I do not have enough points to upgrade Kena. I‘m still missing one more skill (i need 230 more points) and I don‘t know how…
PowerPyx says
From what I heard, there’s supposedly a glitch that can reset skill points. This would likely be the reason.
Normally, you should have a ton of skill points left over after finding all collectibles. You get enough to buy all skills just from story + collectibles. Shouldn’t have any issues. If you’re short on points, you likely had the glitch happening at some point and lost 1000+ points because of that. I think the only fix is to replay the game again from scratch in this case and investing the points as soon as you can afford a new skill.
Seth says
I’m not able to teleport to any other shrines after completing the game. Is there a bug or am I missing something? My only option is to teleport to the mountain shrine or to go to the meditation point to watch the final cutscene.
Seth says
I tried closing the game and reloading the save. That did not work. However, I loaded a previous save and then switched back to my manual save made after beating the game, which caused me to fall through he world. When I respawned, I was able to teleport normally.
John says
I played it on ps5, with the guide of collectibles and master difficulty exploit, it’s actually possible to finish in 8-10 hours, I finished it in 8 hours, probably you can edit the estimated trophy time much shorter
BloodySneaker says
The rot collecting trophy bugged for me on PS5 1.005. In the village I’ve got all the rots but the game still show 23/24.
Any suggestion beside start a new game?
Bigsushiroll says
I’m having a similar issue in the forest
Ash says
In Skillful Spirit Guide, it says that you should have a lot left over, how much is a lot? I encountered the karma reset glitch, I lost around 500-600 karma, is it still possible or should I just scrap the current run and go again?
Jc says
The number of rot is still 23/24 for me in village area. I spent like 2 hours checking which one did I miss, but still couldn’t figure out. Is this trophy bugged?
BloodySneaker says
Probably, no word from the dev but we are not alone, other player encountered this bug. I think that one of the bosses give us 2 rots instead of 3 cause I’ve checked all the single rot spot and all have the purple mushtrooms
JJ says
Stuck at the end shrine. I want to keep going to not lose all my process but autosave puts me in the last mediation spot and I cant go anywhere else. Help!
Ash says
The last meditation spot is at the far north end of the map. Go to the fast travel shrine, select fast travel and move your cursor all the way down and pick another fast travel shrine. You’ll be able to return at any point
Heisenburgh says
For some reason Zen Master is appearing bugged. Not counting all the meditation spots.
Gon89 says
It’s odd, but after you find all the meditation spots in the world, you’ll need to go the final part of the game at the mountain and “let go”, then you’ll get back to the title screen and select resume to keep playing. Looks like the game doesn’t register the final meditation spot as completed for some reason.
2bNs says
1) I can confirm what others already commented: “No stone unturned” can glitch out. I checked all village locations several times using multiple guides and the map still shows 23/24. Patch 1.06 didn’t fix this retrospectively. You should update the “Glitched trophies” section.
2) Master difficulty exploit was patched on 1.06. Check the comments below the exploit video on YT for several more confirmations.
Hyp says
1.06 seems to have fixed the exploit :'(
Jc says
Hi Pyx, I’m pretty sure the all rot trophy is glitched. There are 24 rots in village area, 15 of them should be found out of main story and 9 out of them should be found after boss fight. I found all 15 rots in village that I shouldn’t be collect in main story but I still miss one, there is a high chance that one of those three bosses didn’t give me 3 rots instead gave me 2. Oh man, I don’t want to do it again
PowerPyx says
I think you’re right. Have seen a bunch of comments about this in here and in collectible guide. Some people also having trouble with the meditation spots trophy.
I added it as glitched trophies to the overview for now.
Only fix would be to start from scratch, or wait and hope for a patch to fix it retroactively (but that might never happen). This seems to be either a rare issue, or they messed it up with a recent patch. It worked fine for most players, so not a widespread issue at least.
UNL1KELYH3RO says
I’ve just spent the day doing collectibles. Got to my last Rot. Once collected it showed as Rot number 99/100. The whole map is done. Yet I only have 99 Rot. Anyone else having this issue?
tapps says
I’ve same issue but have 95/100 rot, the whole map is done. Don’t really want to do another playthrough…
PowerPyx says
Unfortunately the Master Exploit was fixed in Patch 1.06 🙁
Only way now is if you downloaded the game before patch and haven’t updated it yet.
Ryan says
If I get the physical copy on November 19th and just turn the internet off and play the game would it still work that way?
PowerPyx says
It’s unknown at this point if the disc will come with patches preinstalled or if it’s version 1.00 without the patch data.
Because it releases later than the digital edition, there’s a chance they have some patches preinstalled on the disc which would cancel out the exploit. We’ll have to wait until release to find out.
Rob says
I think the exploit broke the game for me. I was able to do the exploit fine yesterday on 1.05 and unlocked the master difficulty trophy.
Today I went back to my post game save to wrap up the collectibles and my total rot count is at 89 even though I have collected all of them in every region (everything on the map shows completed). The trophy didnt trigger, same with the meditation trophy. The hats, chests and flower shrine trophies triggered fine.
I also noticed that I cant warp back to the mountain shrine area anymore to trigger the “letting go” objective
Gon89 says
That’s why is advisable to get all collectibles before doing the exploit. I did this way so I was sure nothing would mess-up .
Jo says
For the sharpshooter – just throw your bomb, then quickly pull out the bow and press R3 to slow down time, much easier than jumping in air
bebecaow says
I was sure Zen Master had glitched out on me until I remembered the Mountain Shrine meditation spot, i.e. the one that actually ends the game. Putting this up here in case that might help somebody else.

I was looking forward to playing Kena: Bridge of Spirits initially but this Master difficulty has kind of turned me off. Now that the exploit has been patched out as of 1.06, I feel like if I did try to do it legit I would struggle to achieve the Platinum trophy. I wonder if they’ll add New Game Plus in an update since that helped me complete Metro Exodus on Ranger Hardcore difficulty (which I assume is still easier than Kena’s Master difficulty).
By the way, Kena: Bridge of Spirits PS4 and PS5 physical editions are seemingly releasing 19/11/2021 for £33.95 (way better than the £42.99 RPR) according to The Game Collection. If anyone is interested, I recommend buying the PS4 version as that includes a PS5 upgrade.
PhantomFear94 says
Playing on 1.05 offline worked for me. I’m actually going to stay offline, seeing a lot of the 23/24 rot issues being on 1.06. Counted any rot I’ve picked up and story related rot, and they all seem to add up currently.
PhantomFear94 says
If anyone is missing a rot, check Rufus’ Barn. You can use nearby rocks once you have the bomb ability to go into the upper level of the barn. There is a rot at the end of this (on a balcony, the warp stone for Rufus’ Barn will be dead opposite). My game glitched and didn’t show the usual purple go, but using Pulse exposed it. Was looking for it for AGES.
PhantomFear94 says
Meditation trophy bugged for me too. Very, very annoying.
PhantomFear94 says
Got it to pop, but its buggy. Did the loop 3-4 times and it finally unlocked at the Mountain Shrine. Definitely checked all of them multiple times.
BankoBabyy says
Just finished Master difficulty legit. Its def doable but will require a lot of practice and understanding of the game mechanics. Good luck to all
Bruce says
I also seem to be having an issue with the bugged Triple Tap trophy. I have a manual save near the end of mask maker level where the 3 small enemies appear once you place the lantern in the wrong location. I’ve taken out all 3 dozens of times and still nothing. Hoping this gets patched soon…
Vice says
Hi, I’ve just became a father and don’t have a lot of time to really commit myself to a game. However, I really do like the look of this game, but I have heard it can be punishingly difficult. On Story Mode, is the game still challenging or should you be able to just breeze through it? Unfortunately I don’t really have the time at the moment to commit to a game and actually get good!
bebecaow says
It’s easy on story mode. You can breeze through it for sure. Congrats on becoming a dad!
GaloWar says
On story mode you could play while changing your baby’s diaper.
On master is really really hard.
Coin says
Heyo,
Found an easier way to do Triple Tap, get to the puzzle a bit further on where you have to place 3 pots, placing the wrong pot spawns 3 little enemies infinitely.
Wack them all down low, then run to the corner of the nearby stairs, throw down your slow bomb and quickly pop it, if you angle it right they’ll run into the slow together and freeze allowing you enough time to perfectly dash into them.
Marts says
Madness how this patch has ruined the game for a lot of people, I’m stuck at the mountain shrine now can’t warp back to collect everything I’ve missed, can’t use the exploit anymore doesn’t feel like a game that justifies a difficulty mode quite that hard oh well close but no cigar for me
Kirsty says
Just loaded up the game after installing patch 1.07 and I now have no warp stones on my map so can’t fast travel from the mountain. Anyone else having this issue?
Fildyhajo says
About the trophy: “Master Spirit Guide”
Is it possible to delete the game, reload it, and just pause the updates to use the glitch? ??♂️??
I don’t wanna play it on hard.. ??
ryu10 says
I bought the physical version of the game, I hope it won’t arrive already patched
Jose Augusto says
Is still the glitch working? I try the steps so many times and the trophy didn’t pop up
Alan Harvey says
It has been patched.
Alvinomartin says
Anyone on disc version can confirm whether or not we can still use the difficulty exploit?
PowerPyx says
I wonder about this too.
If anyone has the disc would love to know what patch version it is.
Hamad says
It’s on version 1.06.
The version I bought is the Deluxe Edition of the UK version.
Not sure about the US or other version but I don’t think it will be any different.
Alvinomartin says
Damn. I was really looking forward to it. But i guess imma skip this game if we can use the exploit no more :(((
Hamad says
Hey everyone,
Just got the Physical PS4 version of the game. It’s on 1.06 so if your main goal is to use the glitch, then we’re unfortunately out of luck.
Anonymous says
Thank you for letting us know. I’m still interested in buying the PS4 physical edition at some point, but if I can’t use the exploit and have to play the game again on Master difficulty, then I want Ember Lab to at least add New Game Plus.
Archspire says
Platinum trophies should be hard to get. Too many games with “soft” platinums just cheapen the whole trophy system. I’m glad the exploit has been patched and it’s a real shame it was there to begin with.
This platinum requires you to truly master the mechanics and tests your patience and perseverance. So get on with it ;)
Natas says
I agree when it comes to the cheap costing games with easy Platinum trophies, but stuff like this. Where you find a glitch to help. Doesn’t cheapen it to me. It adds to the charm lol.
FaithInDeath19 says
I have to say, master difficulty is no joke. My hands were actually hurting trying to get this platinum. I felt this game was more difficult on master than Dark souls or Sekiro. You really have to learn the parry timing and get up in the grill of some of the bosses. For some of them, rolling was not an option because they would instantly close the gap and kill you. You have to learn to be fearless when fighting very near each other. I wish this game had an always sprint option, so when you move the stick forward you sprint automatically, no need to click l3. I think all games should have this option, because clicking l3 is uncomfortable in a game that requires you to be constantly on the move. For the first game for a studio, this game is near perfection.

Just some tips for beating a Master Spirit Difficulty:
Remember to abuse shooting while mid-air whenever you can. This is greatly helpful while fighting regular enemies (moths especially). It helps a lot with Hunter, Woodsmith, Final boss (since there are a lot of regular enemies). However watch out on some boss fights because you might get surprised with bad timing and being unable to roll over/parry boss attack.
For me definitely the hardest fight was Toshi because most of your damage has to be done on close range. Abuse dash attack to interrupt most of them attacks, and remember not to be too hasty. I mean sometimes he just walks towards you with no action made. Patiently use this time to regain your shield for further attacks. Also for this boss fight is really useful to Rot Infused Bomb because while he is slowed you can spam perfect heavies and get a lot of Rot this way.
The 2nd hard fights was Hunter and Mask Maker. Hunter has 1 attack that is hard to parry (at least for me) so i was always saving my block for it. I mean the triple ground melee attack. The rest of attacks are rather easy, just be patient.
Mask Maker might be really hard and is also kinda RNG based. You hope to stock as many ROT as you can and then expect him to use his “clone prison” attack. Its SUPER easy to counter this attack… just jump+arrow every clone of his while being in Slow-mo. After that he is stunned for big period of time and you can land 4-5 Rot hammers on him making him drop for more than half of his HP.
And the last one… Final boss who was suprisingly easy for me.
The 2 phase with hitting his body parts should be easy. Just roll away to dodge “throwing ice” thingy and the rest of his attacks are easily dodged by DASHING sideways (you can dash twice just to be sure and still leave with plenty of shield).
The parts with little monsters are easy. Focus on JUMP+ARROW the moths all the time and then kill the remaining foes. For me the hardest part was fighting the wooden semi-boss and if you are not comfortable with parrying his attacks remember to DASH away.
Dont stress too much on jumping floating rocks part because even if you fall down here you will be teleported to the start of this phase.
Final phase should not be the hardest. Almost immidiately at start of this phase you should hit him for a first times because you should have ROT power from the last phase. Then just stick to the edge of the “circle” and try to JUMP+ARROW every moth and then light attack the rest foes (they are much weaker here than normal version of these enemies).
Anyways, GL on getting PLAT! I loved the game completely and i will for sure play it once again some time 🙂
jeffsore says
Someone found a new exploit for Master difficulty: you need to beat the game once and have a save at the mountain shrine, just before last cutscene. Start new game on Master, get through tutorial, and do an out of bounds skip by rolling and jumping (helps to hold L2 while doing the rolling) to get to a warp point on the mountain. Load your mountain shrine save and meditate, immediately pause, and load the Master save from the Village Leader Hall save point. Last cutscene will play and once credits start the trophy pops. Here’s the video showing the process.

New Glitch for master difficulty worked a treat. Still works on patch 2.08
Leo says
Am I understanding this wrong or all combat trophies can be done after finishing the game in the training zone?
If it’s doable so the trophies are not missable.
Leo says
I can confirm I got the trophy “return to sender” redoing a cursed chest southwest of the village.
