Are you wondering how long is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth? Depending on what difficulty you play on and how thoroughly you complete side quests it can vary a lot.
Here are the Final Fantasy VII Game Length Estimates for different difficulties and completion levels:
- 30 Hours if rushing it on easy difficulty, skipping all cutscenes, ignoring all side content, doing story only
- 75-120 Hours on normal difficulty, doing a moderate amount of side content (including all cutscenes). This is what will apply to most players.
- 100-150 Hours for a 100% playthrough on easy or normal, doing all side content as it unlocks (all side quests, collectibles, minigames)
- 150-200 Hours for Platinum Trophy (100% Game Completion), which includes a 2nd playthrough on Hard Difficulty and doing all Brutal/Legendary VR Missions.
On average: The first playthrough will take most players around 100 Hours.
The game consists of 14 Main Chapters with 7, 9 and 13 being the longest. The first 6 Chapters are relatively short. The second half of the game is much longer from Chapter 7 onward. There are also 36 Side Missions that add another 15-20 hours of gameplay. A lot of the time will go into the various Minigames and completing all of Johnny’s Treasure Trove Items, which requires near 100% completion and highscores in all minigames except Piano Songs. It’s worth noting that Hard difficulty is only unlocked after beating the game on any difficulty. It’s not available from the start. You get to keep all your gear on Hard difficulty via Chapter Select. In order to reach 100% game completion you have to play through the game a second time on Hard as there are new Manuscripts exclusive to Hard Difficulty.
You might also like to know that after the story you unlock Chapter Select, so if you missed anything you can go back to do it while keeping all your gear. The full open world is still accessible until the start of Chapter 13, allowing you to clean up any side quests, minigames, world intel and other side activities. Nothing is missable thanks to Chapter Select.
