A Soldier’s March is a Side Quest in Horizon Forbidden West (HZFW). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the A Soldier’s March side mission.
Location: The Bulwark
Quest Giver: 2 Soldiers
Quest Level: Level 18
Requirement: After Main Quest 16: The Wings of the Ten
Reward: 4500 XP, 2 Skill Points, Tenakth Tactician Face Paint
Mission Info: Penttoh seeks to prove his mettle by completing a trial known as the March of the Ten, but the brutal challenge may be too much for him.
Objectives:
- Go to the Start of the Climb
- Climb up the Cliff
- Talk to Wekatta
- Find the Tenakth Climbers
- Kill the Machine / Talk to the Tenakth Climber
- Scan for Penttoh’s Tracks / Follow the Tracks / Climb the Mountain
- Kill the Machines / Talk to Penttoh
- Climb the Mountain
- Kill the Frostclaw
- Follow Penttoh / Talk to Penttoh
- Return to Wekatta
Starting Location: The Bulwark
This unlocks after Main Quest 16: The Wings of the Ten.
Go to the Start of the Climb
You will find 2 female soldiers arguing. One soldier’s brother is climbing up a high mountain as part of his test to become a soldier. His sister is scared for him and asks you to check on him. Head to the start of the climb.
Climb up the Cliff / Talk to Wekatta
The first climbing section is basically a straight line up. As usual you can press 
to scan for yellow climbable ledges. At the top go the camp and talk to Wakatta.
Kill the Machine / Talk to the Tenakth Climber
Two climbers are still missing. Follow the path and help one of them out while he is getting attacked by a stalker. He will tell you Penttoh saved his life but insisted on completing the ritual.
Scan for Penttoh’s Tracks / Follow the Tracks / Climb the Mountain
Follow the climbing path and scan for Penttoh’s tracks. Keep following them to copy his climbing path.
At one point the path Penttoh took is no longer viable. Instead, you will have to climb up the wall, glide to a climbing hook on the wall, and from there glide again to the ledge on the opposite side.
Kill the Machines / Talk to Penttoh
After the climb you will find Penttoh fighting some machines, help him out and talk to him. He insists on continuing the climb and Aloy joins in since it is a 2 man job.
Climb the Mountain
The path is pretty straightforward apart from the spot below. You have to use your Pullcaster to reach the other side, kick down the tree and from the fallen tree jump to the mountain wall to continue the climb.
Kill the Frostclaw
Once again you will be greeted by a machine after finishing a climbing section. This time a Frostclaw will attack you. Kill it.
Follow Penttoh / Talk to Penttoh
After defeating the Frosclaw Penttoh will take the lead so follow him to the final summit where he can get the flower he came for.
Return to Wekatta
Returning to Wekatta is just a long straight glide down the mountain. Once you reach the camp, watch the cutscene and the mission will be over.

I managed to get the trophy Completed A Long Glide when gliding down from the top of the mountain. It popped about 5 seconds before reaching the bottom. I did not time it, but it seemed slightly less than 60 seconds.
