Introduction
Welcome to the Hogwarts Legacy Trophy Guide (aka Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy). This is a huge open world RPG set in the world of Harry Potter. You create your own character and attend Hogwarts school as a 5th-year student while taking on many extracurricular adventures. There is free-roam after the story and you can finish up any Side Quests or Collectibles you have left. Your first priority should be beating the story so that you have access to all spells. Almost everything from collectibles to side quest puzzles is gated behind having the right spells. Until the story introduces you to those spells you would wonder how to solve certain puzzles when they actually cannot be solved yet. After the story clean up remaining side quests first, they reward you with collectibles. Then clean up the remaining collectibles after. As you go through the story you can already work on any side tasks and collectibles you come across. You need close to 100% completion anyway. Your gender, house, and wand can’t be changed. The trophies for reaching the Map Chamber with each house lock out each other, as you can only get one per playthrough, but the Map Chamber is relatively early in the game (2 hours if you skip everything). The only thing to remember is to use Ancient Magic on all enemy types you encounter. Other than that just have fun and enjoy the game as you see fit.
Step 1: Finish Story + Use Ancient Magic on Every Enemy Type
Focus on the story first. Most Collectibles and Side Quests are inaccessible until later in the game because they require specific spells. If you can’t solve a puzzle or reach a collectible it’s because you are missing the spell for it. After the story you will have access to everything. What gender and house you pick does not matter for your 100% completion playthrough. It only changes some dialogue and there’s one unique story quest per house but doesn’t impact the quest order or how the story plays out.
The only important thing to keep in mind is to always use Ancient Magic +
on all new enemies you encounter (Ancient Magic is unlocked during Main Quest #7: Welcome to Hogsmeade). For
Finishing Touches you must have used Ancient Magic on 34/69 enemy types. Even though the trophy description says “all” are required, the trophy tracker only requires 34 but there are really 69 enemies according to the in-game collection menu. Some count and some do not. Enemies that only appear once or exist only within one quest aren’t needed for it.
Other than that just have fun. You can spend talent points freely and do any side tasks you come across. You will need close to 100% completion for platinum anyway and must often gain level ups between main quests. Doing side quests will help you gain XP while also working towards completion.
If you would like to follow a story walkthrough or need help with certain puzzles, refer to Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough. For a general overview of all puzzle types see Hogwarts Legacy All Puzzle Types Explained.
Step 2: Unlock All remaining Spells (Assignments), Level 3 Lockpicking, Do All Side Quests
If you are still missing any spells after the story, unlock them now. You need various spells for side quests and collectibles. Refer to How to Unlock All Spells. The Unforgivable Curses aren’t needed for trophies. You will also want to fully upgrade the Alohomora spell to open Level 3 locks, this is done by collecting the Demiguise Statues for Side Quest: The Man Behind the Moons. After this you will have full access to everything and can complete all other side quests that require the level 3 lockpicking.
Now focus on finishing all remaining Side Quests and Relationship Quests. See Hogwarts Legacy All Side Quests Guide. You can compare this list against your in-game list to figure out which quests you are missing (press > Quests > click bottom icon in left sidebar to view your Completed Quests). There are 57 Side Quests total. This will also take care of any side quest related trophies and opens up new side areas that also contain collectibles. Additionally, many Side Quests unlock Collection Items as rewards so you are indirectly working towards Collectibles here too.
Potential Bug Warning: There are reports that if you start Side Quest: Follow the Butterflies in Hogsmeade, but do not complete it and instead complete another butterfly, you permanently get bugged out of 1 conjuration. Complete this quest as soon as you accept it to avoid this.
Step 3: Collectibles
The biggest task for Platinum is completing all Collections and other Collectible-related Trophies. You basically need 100% completion including all Challenges. Each Challenge Tier unlocks Appearances and other items that count towards the Collections, and each Collectible Type either has Challenges associated with it or is otherwise needed for trophies. The only things you don’t need everything of are Field Guide Pages, you only need 180/236 of those to complete all challenges associated with them to get their collection rewards (you claim rewards by pressing on the completed Challenge Tiers). Of all other collectible types you need 100%.
There are 1,428 Collectibles but many count towards multiple categories or register automatically from Main- and Side Quests or just walking past fast travel points or encountering new enemy types. Even collectible types that don’t directly give a trophy are tied to challenges which then unlock a collectible. For example, you need the Balloons to finish the Balloon Exploration Challenge, which then unlocks Brooms. What you need:
» Hogwarts Legacy Collectible Guide – 100% Completion
- 603 Collections –
Collector’s Edition
- 10 Tools
- 69 Enemies
- 89 Appearances
- 150 Revelio Pages

- 32 Balloon Sets – needed for Brooms (Collections)

- 3 Hogwarts Secrets – needed for Collections (challenge rewards)

- 24 Challenges – needed for Collections (challenge rewards)
- 16 House Tokens – not directly a collectible but needed for The Daedalian Keys side quest
- 15 Butterflies – needed for Collections
Potential Bug Warning: There are reports that some players end up with 74/75 Traits. This happens if a Collection Chest from a Bandit Camp doesn’t reward you with a Trait (can happen randomly). You can prevent this by reloading last autosave if a collection chest from a bandit camp doesn’t give a Trait.
Step 4: Reach Map Chamber with Each House (3 Extra Partial Playthroughs)
After you are all done with the collectibles, the only thing left should be the 3 remaining trophies for reaching the Map Chamber with each House. Because your house can’t be changed you must start a completely new game, replay the prologue, at the end of the prologue pick your house, advance to Main Quest #18: Jackdaw’s Rest, the Map Chamber trophy unlocks after this. Repeat for the next houses until you have them all done. Luckily this is quite early in the game and only requires partial playthroughs. If you skip all dialogue/cutscenes you can reach the Map Chamber within ~2 hours playtime. You can’t manually save at any point before the Sorting Ceremony but the game does keep an Autosave, so if you want to save time quit out during the Sorting Ceremony and upload your save to PS+ Cloud, after you popped the trophy redownload that autosave and it will place you right back at the sorting ceremony without redoing the whole prologue each time.

Mandrake is a type of combat plant that you can use in battle. It creates a loud cry that stuns nearby enemies.
Buy the “Mandrake Seed” from Shop: Dogweed and Deathcap in the north of Hogsmeade (mushroom icon on map). It costs 800 money. You can then plant these seeds infinitely at no cost and they take 10 minutes to grow Mandrakes for harvest. All you need is a small potting table, one can be found in Hogwarts > The Library Annex > Greenhouses. Alternatively, you can place potting tables in the Room of Requirement if you’ve already unlocked it from story progress. After 10+ minutes have passed come back to harvest the Mandrake. Collect a few, use them in combat, keep planting/harvesting them until you have the trophy. If you wait until you completed Main Quest: The Room of Requirement, it will go quicker. You can place multiple potting tables in the Room of Requirement at the same time to grow multiple Mandrakes within 10 minutes. |

Any task you complete towards Challenges rewards you with XP. In other words: work on completing all Challenges and you’ll reach Level 40. |

Thanks for the guide, I was on the fence but am now getting this day one after seeing you gave it 10/10.
For the map chamber trophy, understand you said it’s around 2 hours to get there. Could you manual save just before choosing a house, so you can potentially cut down those 2 hours even more, or do you choose your house right at the beginning of the game?

Any One else experiencing The merlin trial bug, where on PS5 trophy tracker it says 94/95 although in game it says 95/95, and any fixes??
Gary says
Hey powerpyx
I have done nearly all the challenges barring the merlin trials and gear upgrades. I have finished ALL main and side quests. I have got 100% on field pages, 100% on combat and 100% on quests. Just need room of requirement and exploration to go.
So my question is with only the merlin trials and gear upgrades to go will that get me to level 40. Coz i feel like even with everything 100% i am not gonna reach level 40.
Darkrwater says
Hello powerpyx, is there anyway to go to fieldcroft catacomb after completing Sebastian quest line and main story . Because the entrance seems to be block off. I can’t access inside to get my collection chest … hopefully it have a way
anonymous gamer says
great guide mate, I just can’t get over how funny the developers thought it was to attach a single trophy towards 4 separate playthroughs (house cards). despite it being a great game it’s hideous and draining tryna get that trophy alone!
maverick-09- says
An easy way to get the 100 combo trophy. go to any groups of the undead enemy that has to be hit with fire to hurt. keep casting basic attack spell. they won’t take damage so you don’t have to worry about them dying and they are easy to avoid.
TM says
Super fast as always, and thanks a lot for the guide.
Cheers

When PP says 10/10 Best Console game of the generation… Im looking forward to playing.
As always man thanks for all your hard work with your guides.
Wouldn’t finish half as many games without your help
Robert Gallups says
10/10 from PowerPyx is HUGE.
Can’t wait.
Once again, thank you for the guide!
Gediminas says
missable are 3 trophies. because you play as one of the house on your first playthrough, because whatever house you choose, it isn’t missable 🙂 that’s leaves you with 3 missable trophies.
and why we can’t use Cloud Save? it isn’t like game isn’t saving?
Sha2099dow says
I would love to know that too. If it works, i might as well just get all four trophies at the beginning before even proceed futher.
eliaz85 says
Thanks so much for this! Can you change seasons after the story ends, or are you stuck in summer?
Ashley says
Nice guide thanks
Can the three “Complete relationship line’s” be done in one playthrough as each person is in a different house ?
Tom says
Would also like to know this too!
FranciRoosters says
Yes, they can all be done in one playthrough. Nothing’s missable.
Doenbo says
Hey PowerPyx! Big Fan here. Do you happen to know, if there are multiple save files? Would be handy for the houses Trophies.
Leon says
Yes, there are 4 character slots but each one has 10 manual saves.
Leon says
Excellent guide overall (despite it still being in progress). Can’t wait to play this game later tonight
james says
Does the ancient magic on enemies affect how you play at all? Like does it play on your mind all the time? Was kinda hoping I could just play the game at my own leisure and not have to worry about achievements like this.
Thank-you for reading!
VAST says
No, it fits naturally into the flow of combat. You’ll use it along with all your other spells, it’s very powerful.
Gradly says
You can’t just upload your saves to PS cloud prior to choosing the house then manually upload/download to choose each?
PowerPyx says
That should work actually. I’ll add that as a method.
Salvatore says
But after making the choice, do you have to go all the way to mission 18? From the choice you can not jump directly to mission 18? Because if it’s not like that it’s useless to use the save cloud, it would only help to skip the prologue, which would be the shortest part!
Igor de Falco says
I was waiting for this one.
Really fast, now I Know what to do when the game come out.
Congrats.
Christian says
About the sorting trophy, no manual saving yes, but isnt there autosave? So wouldnt you be able to before that last quest upload your save and then chose, download rince repeat.
Canova says
The reason for replaying prologue 3 times is because there is no manual save before sorting ceremony, but is there auto save? If so, you could probably backup the auto save to the cloud and just take it from the sorting ceremony, right?
joker says
1k collectable!!!!!! How much Hours for them?
Also if keep skipping what time i get for platinum?
PLATnumb says
LETS GOOO!! The missables give me flashbacks of Borderlands 2 where you had to get certain style kills with each character
Anonymous says
Thank you for the trophy guide. It’s nice to know the game is seemingly great, Platinum trophy difficulty is reasonable and that I can just enjoy the game how I want (except for making sure I use Ancient Magic on 34/69 enemy types). When it comes to those 4 missable House trophies, my solution when playing on PS4 would be to quit the game during the Sorting Ceremony and back up that autosave on my USB, then get each trophy (leaving the House I actually want for last).
Unlike most PS4/PS5 games that release at the same time, I have to wait until at least April 2023 to be able to play Hogwarts Legacy on PS4. Also, I’m not paying more than £50 for the PS4 version (which doesn’t include a free PS5 upgrade). They should’ve just charged £49.99 on PS4 & PS5, like they are on Steam.
Onur says
Hey PYX,
I was wondering how long it would take if you skip all the cutscenes.
PowerPyx says
About a third of the story/side quests is cutscenes/dialogues.
It wouldn’t save much time during the exploration/collectibles but would definitely save time during story/side quests. I estimate you’d save around 10 hours total for plat by skipping everything.
Xori says
Level 40 is max level? That’s kinda low and makes me nervous
Ben says
You do level up pretty fast from 1-20, then 20-30 it starts to get slower with leveling and by 30-40 it takes a LONG time to level up.
Rudolph-hunter says
Collectibles are broken in this game. I collected everything from Hogwarts (every 150 pages) and my map tells me that I’m missing 34 of them. Also happened to the moon statue and chest in villages. I don’t want to play it anymore. That sucks.
My tracker also stopped at 100 collectibles.
Angel says
By any chance did you use the “Resume activity” option of the PS5 at anytime?
This feature has had a lot of problems on some PS5 games that break the game.
Calypso says
Is there any sort of ingame collectibles tracker? I’d hate to be stuck trying to find the last handful and not knowing which area to search or forget which ones I’ve already gotten.
I’m hoping each area has a list of stuff and tells you how many you’ve collected or how many you still need…
FranciRoosters says
Hogwarts’ and Hogsmeade’s in-game collectible trackers work find, but for the Highlands some collectibles aren’t tracked (Butterflies) while some are tracked but don’t show on the map (Landing Platforms).
FamedGuardian says
It felt more like 3-4 hours to get to the map room, whew! Thankful others posted about the cloud saves, as this worked great.
xCRAZYBIGGYx says
I confirm that the trophy of the collectibles is bug, because my tracking tells me that I have 109/603, and when I calculate in the game, I have almost 500….. if I have to make a new game to validate it it could be quite annoying.
BendyWire91 says
Easiest way to get 100 combo is getting a single Inferi and hitting it with a standard cast attack 100 times.
Revenge V says
Can confirm that is is a viable method! It even works on Story difficulty which is what I did!
d3mystic says
I want to make the final story trophy my last one (other than the plat). Which quest do I need to finish to unlock all spells for the side quests/collectibles?
FranciRoosters says
You need to play all Professors’ Assignments.
Leon says
My Revelio Pages collections tab is currently bugged at 53/150. Hopefully there is a fix for this eventually.
GMenNY94 says
Mine too at 148/150. realised it at the end of my 100% Playthrough frustrating.
Ashley says
For “Spend all Talent Points” is there enough points to max all talents or do we need to be careful which we choose ? Thanks
Leon says
You only get 36 points, starting from level 5. So you can’t max everything. Carefully choose where to spend them.
sharpIIS2 says
36/48
so no
you can’t max out all the talents
FranciRoosters says
You can only earn 40 Talent Points, 1 Talent Point per level up, but there are 48 Talents available for unlock. As a result, you can’t max all talents and must decide what you want to prioritize. I, personally, have left Room of Requirement to 0 as its Talents aren’t really used as much as other categories.
Redgoesfaster says
You get around ten less than you would need to max everything
Adrian Gomez says
Did it have NG+?
Leon says
Hogwarts Legacy does not have a NG+ mode at the moment.
GMenNY94 says
I can confirm that the Revelio Pages are glitched.
Stuck at 148/150… I know which pages didnt count. This voides for me the collectors edition trophy after 49h Gametime.
Very frustrating.
Lets hope they patch it in the near future.
Jenky says
The Lumos Moth in the Library at Hogwarts is missing for me, therefore I cannot complete the moth painting there. Are these necessary for platinum?

Can I do the last 3 missable trophies (get the trophy then exit game and start new game)? Then last missable trophies as continue the normal playthrough?
Finch says
I opened a chest while my gear slots were full. Now the chest remains open and glowing. Is there a problem?
tgu says
‘Collector’s Edition’ achievement indeed bugged. Collected everything possible but my tracker is at 116/603.
Only thing left for my plat. RIP.
Peymoon says
I have the same issue. Does anyone have an update on this?
Boo says
Looks like this is really bugged, the game is 0.0 % for plat. I remember the same for mad max and it was never fixed. It was the reason I never platinum it, my location are still 190/191 to this day. So that really sucks.
Redgoesfaster says
I seemingly also have the trophy for collectors edition glitched. I have completed every collection except for appearances which i am 87/88 for, I am missing one for “additional content”. My trophy tracker says I have 493/603 when I have well over 600
Redgoesfaster says
For anyone else reading this, apparently the collectors edition trophy is bugged for almost everyone with an issue exclusive to playstation, the devs have already put together a fix that rectifies the issue rectoactively and is coming next Tuesday in a patch
Rohit says
mine stuck at 601
PSHunterTrophy says
I’ve completed the entire game. I unlocked everything and collected all possible items.
The problem is that in Hogwarts “the bell tower wing” location, I have collected 33/34 pages of the guide. For 10 hours I was running, checking everything carefully with other players and with guides with unlocked whole Hogwart map. I’ve done everything – the page is still missing.
In “Collections” I have unlocked everything but, what’s worse, to get the trophy, you need to “conjure” have 139/140 – And it’s nowhere to be found. I checked in the Room of Requirement what I’m missing is a telescope statue.. I don’t know what to do anymore
AZ says
Heard there was one in a quest. Lost Child. That is the one I’m missing or think i’m missing from the hogwarts valley.
sean says
Follow up for folks struggling to find the last side quest, You are either missing Well, well, well or Summoners court 5. For some reason it takes the 5 one longer to spawn
Vibby says
People are saying that if you play Ravenclaw you don’t get all the side quests, that is weird.
PowerPyx says
That’s false. You get all side quests with all houses.
Matt says
So by rectifying the glitch will it pop on our current playthrough? Without requiring a fresh game and save? Just wanted to know for sure.
PowerPyx says
Won’t know for sure until the patch is released.
Windys says
I’m level 39 at I can’t get to 40 I have done everything challenge stuck at 99% need to solve hogwarts stuff done them still not working
Windys says
Challenges are stuck on 99% solving hogwarts nit counting level 40 I can’t get I’m at the end of 39 not getting any XP
Gediminas says
they need to patch Collectors edition Trophy. it is effecting loads of people.
Michelle says
Is Floo Around the World trophy bugged for anyone else? I got all the Floos but no trophy.
Onur says
I thought that aswell but there’s hidden floos around the world map still but you got be near them to see. Revlio while flying with your broom, they will pop up (since the last remaining ones don’t show up in the main), and you can check by looking at your map data. On the side, it says how many collectibles are left.
Wodahs says
Savvy Spender trophy didn’t pop for me. Spent all points, and nothing. Tried to close and open again, load a previous save and still nothing. Any one else with this problem?
Wodahs says
Solved, after shutdown the PlayStation loading the previous save, spent the points, teleport to a new location the trophy came up.
Windys says
I have gotten all collections chest in the game and I got 2 conjurations left I don’t know what to do
Gediminas says
Did you get 2 from Depulso challenges?
Blackbeard says
Try either checking all the Vivariums (your little zoos in Room of Requirement) again, or double check all of the butterfly locations.
Calum says
Do all the butterflies that lead you to chests and there are 3 Chests in each of the beast vivariums total of 12 across 4 vivariums. If not make sure you have all the chests across the whole map.
Gamer09 says
I think i’ve missed pensieve sentinel for the finishing touches trophy . Is there any place i can find them other then quests ?
PowerPyx says
Pensieve Sentinel doesn’t count towards Finishing Touches. So you’re all good 🙂
jony says
I have one exploration invocation left, all of them, I have checked everything and nothing, I don’t know which one I am missing, could you add an image of all the exploration invocations to compare please and find the one I am missing.
PowerPyx says
By invocations do you mean conjurations? All exploration ones are random rewards from collection chests. They don’t have fixed locations so it’s impossible to say where your missing one is from. You have to open all collection chests in the game.
I’ll have a guide for all collection chests later.
Ross says
Can anyone confirm if ravenclaw locks you out of 100% relationship trophy?
PowerPyx says
It does not. Ravenclaw can finish all relationship trophies just like any other house.
Your house does not lock you out of anything completion-related.
Ml says
Can you track which enemies you have used ancient magic on?
PowerPyx says
No.
But certain enemies you encounter so often, going by memory you will be able to eliminate which ones you certainly used ancient magic on. Then start with the rarest ones you haven’t encountered very often. If you always use Ancient Magic when it’s available it should come pretty much automatically while going for plat.
r00tcracker says
For the map chamber trophies, if I do one play through, get all the other trophies and make a manual save right at the end, then start a second play and before the ceremony i quit out of the game and upload to the cloud so to have that auto save done, after reaching the map chamber, pop the trophy then quit again and download the save from the cloud, will it have my MANUAL save from my first play through?
Just asking because I don’t want to have to do the whole story and 100% again before NG+ arrives.
Thanks!
r00tcracker says
OK, I think I’m going to answer my own question here…. if you start a new game with a new character, you have to select a new slot… So I assume that during that play through all the saves from the original game in slot 1 will still be there in the cloud right?
So I can do the map chamber trophies on slot 2, upload before the sorting ceremony, get to the map chamber, then download from the cloud and rinse and repeat.
And then I can keep going with my character from slot 1 for NG+ etc
If anyone can confirm, that would be amazing!
Thank you!
Bradley says
Some other enemies count toward Finishing Touches. I got the trophy when I used ancient magic on Acromantula, and I had not encountered Forest or Mountain Trolls yet. I think the other extra one might have been the animal form of animagus but not 100% sure on that one.
Leon says
The wolf form of the animagus does count as I used AM on it and that counted towards the tracker.
PowerPyx says
I added both to the list. I think this might just count as 1 extra so maybe can skip another enemy.
PowerPyx says
Patch that fixes the “Collector’s Edition” trophy is now live.
Frasier says
Still bugged for me. Got everything 100%.
I finished all the collections today so I didn’t encounter it before the patch. Downloaded the patch today, did all the collectables and it’s bugged. It says I have 567/603 collectables even though the challenges and collections are 100% finished. Also all collectables in hogwarts/Hormead and the world.
Tracker says I have 4% of the field pages even though I have all of them
SeekTheNutz says
It’s still bugged for some people, me included. Ingame shows as everything fully complete but playstation tracker shows 595/603.
Lucibur says
I’m trying to get the remaining Conjuration collectible for the last trophy for the platinum. I’ve done literally everything everyone online has said to do in order to get all chests multiple times now and still nothing.. What’s bothering me the most about is I know what I’m missing and there’s no way in knowing where the chest is to get said item. This is really getting on my nerves now and not knowing what I’m missing just makes it harder to not overthink about it, y’know?
Tomjob says
Same on my side, 1 fuc….. conjuring is missing but idk where
Clark Zuckerberg says
Got the plat thanks so much for the helpful guide! Main story on normal took me about 20hrs, doing some side stuff but not a ton. Didn’t rush at all though. Took me about 5 days. Completing that save to 100% took 47hrs. Took me about another 5 days. The three additional saves took about 1hr 50m each. Plat time total for me was around 53 hours. Used the PS Plus backup save trick to be able to re-download at the sorting ceremony. Ultimately saved me about 15 mins per partial play-through, which doesn’t seem like much but those first 15 mins are kind of agonizing after playing 50 hours of the game lol.
AJ P says
I am missing one exploration “trait” that comes from chests in Bandit camps and I have scoured the map multiple. I hope they patch the game yet again and fix it
PhantomFear94 says
There are issues with the collection chests and conjurations. I have 73 chests remaining according to the tracker, but 76 wands, conjurations and traits remaining. Will find them all before confirming, but I think I’m short. I’ve got all 15 butterflies and all 12 vivarium chests, so there aren’t any other hidden ones to account for. Others having similar issues.
Freddy Gillund-Paulsen says
Have you checked the vendors if they have any for sale?
PhantomFear94 says
It specifically collectible conjurations, but my missing 3 was vivarium. I did collect all 12, but I must have re-loaded a save after 9, only when I went and checked the 4th and final vivarium I breathed a sigh of relief.
I have 15 conjurations, 15 chests left, all traits and wand handles. So I *think* I’m good. I’ve got the 33/34 field page bug on The Bell Tower in Hogwarts, but the one is bugged for virtually everyone and it isn’t a Revelio page, so I should be good (you don’t need all non-Revelio pages).
Freddy Gillund-Paulsen says
How do I reenter the Scriptorium after the mission to get the revelio page in there?
Robert Gallups says
Avada Kedavra is technically missable. It is dialogue based and if you pick the wrong one during the quest, and then pick the wrong one again while talking to Ominus, it will lock you out of learning the spell, which would lock you out of the Trophy for using all Talent Points.
PowerPyx says
It doesn’t count towards all spells. None of the Unforgivable Curses do. I had never even started Sebastian’s questline when I got the trophy.
Itachi says
Collectables is still bugged. Have 69hr 100% everything but I’m missing 1 Trait. Went through all camps multiple times but no new chests were shown to collect :(. Besides this your guide was top notch!
PhantomFear94 says
@PowerPyx (or PowerPyx team) – important note on some bugs that impact Collector’s Edition that are avoidable, and may be worth putting in the roadmap as they can be avoided! Apologies if these have been mentioned elsewhere.
For everyone with 139/140 conjurations, or 74/75 traits unfortunately these are very common bugs. Both are avoidable with foresight, and I got very lucky in both instances personally, but sadly nothing you can do in either case until a patch if you’re affected. Bug reports are already on the official bug reporting page, help and go vote or supply evidence and I imagine this will get patched promptly.
139/140 Conjurations – This glitch occurs because the butterfly chest tied to “Follow the Butterflies” is missable (verified first by u/Last-Juggernaut4664 on Reddit). If you trigger the butterflies but don’t complete the quest and complete any other of the 14 butterfly chests elsewhere, the side quest will “skip” a step and you will be prompted to go back to the quest giver, despite not completing the “intended” butterfly chest. DO NOT HAND THIS QUEST IN YET. If you complete it, the “intended” butterflies for that side quest become permanently unobtainable! If you’ve made this mistake but HAVEN’T turned in the quest yet, you should still be able to find the “intended” butterflies for that side quest, which is No. 4 on PowerPyx’s collectible guide. I was lucky, and happened to do this side quest as intended hours before I mopped up the remaining 14. No others should bug out, as all are open world and not tied to side quests, its only this one.
74/75 Traits – This glitch is more tedious as it can happen whilst playing, and you might have passively been affected already. It occurs when players just aren’t credited with a trait when opening a bandit camp chest. I personally had to re-load an older save twice because I saw this bug happen to me live, fortunately, it registered upon reloading but had I not noticed I would have been affected! So, I strongly recommend that when you loot bandit camp chests and/or turn in challenges, you triple check your collections page increases +1 for the collectible type. Save every 10 traits or so that properly track. Again, nothing you can do if you’ve collected them all and are 1 short, sadly. If you want to expedite your check of this if you’re well into the game, go to Map Genie and filter out everything but bandit camps. Takes around 1.5 hours to do them all in one fell swoop.
Finally, It’s also worth noting that virtually everyone will get “stuck” at 33/34 field pages for Hogwarts > The Bell Tower. This shouldn’t matter, as the one that is bugged is an Accio page by the greenhouse/gardens. Thankfully, it’s the one collectible type where you don’t need to collect every one (Revelio you do; field pages you don’t). Just an FYI, this is a regular bug too, don’t panic too much with this one.
PowerPyx says
Thanks, this is all very helpful! I added note regarding the Butterflies quest in Roadmap Step 2 (which is the side quests step) and note for Traits in Step 3 (which is the Collectible step).
I also updated it on the Collectible Guide page and the Conjurations / Traits pages.
Malyss says
Nice work!
PhantomFear94 says
Thanks, PowerPyx. Haven’t fallen victim to my own report yet, fingers crossed!
Nairyk says
Oh man. I am so far into this and have no idea if the bandit thing has affected me… I’m kind of fearful to keep pushing forward for platinum now.
Nairyk says
Ok are you supposed to get a trait for every bandit camp?? I tried one just now… saved then did it. Didn’t get it, tried again and didn’t get it, tried again and didn’t get it…
Nikki_boagreis says
Anyone know how often shops restock inventory, i read that it takes 3 day cycles or 6 rest periods. Im trying to get enough items for the Merlin trials the Marshmallow Leafs or whatever it’s called. Im trying to purchase the seeds and grow my own but the shops don’t seem to restock inventory that frequently. Im trying to purchase the items that are required for the Merlin trials or the seeds and grow my own.
PhantomFear94 says
I think it may actually be 6 (3 FULL days, so 6 wait cycles). I tried 3 wait cycles for both materials and for lairs and neither respawned, but both did the next session I played so I suspect it may be 3 days, not 3 day to night cycles (which would be 1.5 days).
omakez says
hey all, for the trophy savvy spender, anyone know why im lvl 40 and I still missing one point to spend?
im stuck with this trophy.
thanks!
JS says
The butterfly glitch is so annoying, only one step away from platinum, I hope they can patch it asap, I don want to do the collection all over again.
Ruzaky says
I got 2 trophy buged
1 = Lvl 39 i stuck on it in game
Playststion gave me trophy for lvl 40 but in game never moved from 39 to 40 and i didint recive last talant point all quests is done
2 = My infamous foe challenge is buged
Says 11 out of 12
All side quests done
On map 18 out of 18
I went and check all locations no enemies is there left
PhantomFear94 says
Do you not have an older save? You have 10 manual save slot and autosaves seem to bank for quite a while, from memory.
Infamous Foes is sadly a common bug.
Sean says
Same problem for me, very frustrating, I’m not starting again
SethHulc says
If i keep a PS+ save from the house sorting ceremony but continue to 100% the game. Would downloading the save overwrite everything or just the autosave?
Mark Westside says
It would overwrite everything. The save files contains everything: all your characters and all save slots for each character. You can’t backup individual characters.
So either create a new character, progress to the sorting ceremony and make a backup. Get all trophies for reaching the map chamber and then continue on your 100 %.
Or, spend the extra 15 minutes on each run and have all four characters with each in a different house. Maybe there is a DLC that requires specific houses. That’s what I did.
PhantomFear94 says
See my comment below. Don’t need to use cloud saves.
Anto says
I’m so happy to say that I got the collection trophy!! I only need to reach the map chamber with the other 3 houses. Absolutely a 10/10 trophy
P.s. tecnically i have 149/150 collectibles on Hogwarts because one of the flying pages is bugged and not counted as of today but it doesn’t add up anything for the collection luckly
Ash says
I’m 100% on every collection. The trophy didn’t unlock. I must say I’m missing that one field page in Hogwarts but it shouldn’t count as you said.
Do you maybe know a way of triggering the trophy? :/
King Amanj says
so i Collected and Completed everything in the game and have %100 but on the Trophy “Collector’s Edition“ said %98,
And in the collections shows only 129 Conjurations out of 140 meaning i have missing 11 Conjurations even though i have all of them.
PhantomFear94 says
There are 12 chests in the vivariums (the 4 animal rooms in Room of Requirement). There are also 2 from the Depulso rooms you unlock after doing a side quest).
Generally speaking from all the forums I’ve scoured, if you have 139/140, you’ve had the butterfly glitch. If it’s any less, you’re just missing some. I thought I was too but I missed vivarium ones after a re-load. You’re definitely missing some if you’re missing 11 total.
PhantomFear94 says
Tip for House Achievements/trophies to save 30-60 mins without needing cloud save trickery. It works for up to 3 houses, so is perfect for the final mop-up (presuming you’ve done the other trophies/achievements first).
Once you’ve been sorted, manual save IMMEDIATELY in the common room. Load the OLDEST autosave and it’ll put you before the ceremony – pick another house. Do it one more time (OLDEST autosave), and again you’ll be put before the sorting ceremony, and can pick your final house. Thus, you only have to do the tutorial once for you final 3 house runs.
The oldest is in caps because if you don’t load your oldest autosave, it’ll overwrite too many times and you’ll get reverted to after the sorting ceremony.

I am at 96% for Ancient Magic. Is there a way to see what enemies I haven’t used it on or do I just have to go one by one until it pops?
PowerPyx says
No way to track which enemies you used it on. Can only take a guess or redo all of them and write down which ones you did.

My Collector’s Edition Trophy is bugged. It is stuck at 599/603 although I have got everything. In the Collection menu nothing is missing everything is on X/X.
Ash says
Same here. Everything is X/X. Tracker shows 598/603.
I went and collected all the field pages anyway to eliminate any doubt, but surprise; there is a flying page above some fountain outside the greehouses that I collected and didn’t count.
eastpak333 says
Guys, if you had a bug like me for the collector’s edition trophy (602/603 missing one conjuration), patch 1.05 fixed it. just go to the floo flame forbidden forest and the butterflies are there again and they will lead you to the last chest (tested on 2 characters and with each I already had all the butterflies collected and after patch 1.05 there were those from the sidequest again)
Shadowalker13 says
Can confirm this chest now completes the missing collection item.
mrcast5 says

Im 3/4 way into the completion when i started checking tracked collectibles. I notice sometimes the counter on the ps trophy tracker doesnt add +1 when i claim my reward from collectibles that we get for completing challenges . I have to restart the game and claim that reward again and then it added +1 to the counter. Too bad i realized this too late. Hopefully the devs put out the fix patch soon. I really enjoyed the game but the bug ruined the experience. ?

Is there a way to get the killing spell if you choose not to learn of Sebastian swallow and have it usable in game

Poidsear ruined it for me. Collection chests 7/8 but i opened all 8 of em. Anybody knows how to fix this issue?

I started to play yesterday. After the patch, even in a new playthrough, the collector’s edition can glitch?
deathbunny says
I started the game after the latest patch, and just got platinum. No issues except with a non-platinum related collectible that has to do with the mirror moths. I was able to fix it in on my own though, but again even if I couldn’t it wasn’t required for platinum.
HashMeIfYouCan says
Seems you mixed up online and glitched trophies.

And nobody noticed in 2 months xD
Thanks for pointing it out, it’s fixed now.

I’ve been stuck on level 39 for about 2 months, I 100% completed everything, challenges, quests, collectables, everything. But I was still stuck on level 39 and couldn’t get any XP from anything. But I managed to fix it and get the trophies. Sadly it will only work if you have the physical game.
Here is the fix:
Step 1: Uninstall the game
Step 2: Disable your internet connection
Step 3: Insert the disk into your PS5
Step 4: Install the game without any patches (just download it without internet connection)
Step 5: Start the game without any patches and your internet still disabled
Step 6: Load up your game and try to get XP from something (I did a battle arena) and reach level 40 but DO NOT spend the talent point yet
Step 7: Make sure you save your game and close it
Step 8: Reconnect to the internet and download all updates / patches
Step 9: Start the game with all the recent updates / patches
Step 10: Spend the last talent point and the trophies should pop after you walked around for a few seconds

Any updates for auto pop up trophies for the PS4 version

Only the Deluxe edition includes both PS5 and PS4 versions. PS4 standard edition doesn’t include a PS5 upgrade and PS5 standard edition definitely doesn’t include the PS4 version.
Krazyfoxx says
I’ve been playing the PS4 version, and while I’m still working towards the plat, I have all the trophies unlocked except for the 3 house trophies, the combo 100 one, and the collector’s edition. I imported my PS4 save to the PS5 version and as soon as I loaded the game, all the trophies I had already unlocked, popped on the PS5.
Gotrek Fabian says
Collection issues have been patched and if you log in with your 100% save the trophies that were previously glitches should autopop.

I am still stuck at level 39 with 100% everything I cannot get anymor xp to move past level 39
AdonisIsBeast says
Can you confirm if you’ve actually attempted to autopop the ps4 version from ps5. Another site says it’s possible so just checking!

Not surprising, another excellent guide, thanks PP!
Collector’s Edition Trophy bugged out to me, it unlocked with 137 of 140 conjurations(600 of 603 collectibles).

Hi everybody
Have reach lv39.
Done everything I can think of to get my level to 40, 75% of he way there, I’ve just suddenly stopped earning xp.
Bandit camps done, animal catching done, upgrading gear, all collectible chests done.
I literally can’t think of anything else.
Is there something I’m missing
dark18RO says
Well, I am playing on PS5 and after almost 1 year release they didn’t fixed the conjuration bug.
I have 139/140 conjurations.
It’s my last trophy for platinum and they didn’t do anything about it. Also I am not the only one that has this problem with it.
