Scrope’s Last Hope is the sixteenth main quest in Hogwarts Legacy if you are playing as the Slytherin House. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Scrope’s Last Hope Main Mission.
Requirement: Completed Main Quest: Trials of Merlin, Level 5, play as Slytherin (this is a house-exclusive main quest for Slytherin only)
Reward: 260 XP

Objectives:
- Find Scrope’s note in the courtyard.
- Search for the next note
- Search the pumpkin patch for another note
- Meet Scrope at the water’s edge
- Investigate the Grotto
- Return to Scrope
Starting Location: Scrope’s Last Hope (Slytherin Exclusive)
This quest is exclusive to Slytherin. Depending on your house you will get a different main quest at this point in the story:
- Ollivander’s Heirloom (Ravenclaw)
- The Hunt for the Missing Pages (Gryffindor)
- Prisoner of Love (Hufflepuff)
- Scrope’s Last Hope (Slytherin)
We’ve made the acquaintance of archeologist and historian Nora Treadwell who introduced us to the Trials of Merlin, environmental puzzles scattered all throughout Hogwarts and the Highlands. After solving our first Trial of Merlin, we received a letter from Scrope, a house-elf, who wants to get to the courtyard past the pendulum.
Find Scrope’s Note in the Courtyard
Use Floo Powder to travel to Hogwarts South Exit in the South Wing of Hogwarts. Proceed to head over the bridge and into the courtyard. Once in the courtyard look at the statue in the center facing East and you will see a scroll in its mouth:
Collect the scroll and it will tell you Scrope has hidden another note for you to find.
Search for the next note
Head back across the bridge leading out of Hogwarts.
The moment you step off the bridge look to the left (East) and you will see this note midway up one of the rocks:
You will need to cast Accio on the crate just beyond the rocks and pull it in front of the rock with the note on it:
Once the crate is in front of the rock, climb up and collect the note. The Note will tell you the location for yet another note.
Search the pumpkin patch for another note
Once you collect the second note head down to the Shack down the path South.
Outside of the shack you will see a bunch of pumpkins and a scarecrow.
Destroy the pumpkin closest to the shack to the East of the scarecrow:
Once destroyed there will be a note left on the ground.
Collect the note and it will ask you to meet Scrope at the water’s edge, by the broken docks.
Meet Scrope at the water’s edge
Once the third note is collected you will be given a waypoint to the water’s edge.
Follow the waypoint to meet up with Scrope by the broken docks.
Once you reach the waypoint you will enter a cutscene where you meet Scrope, the house-elf of the Black Family. Agree to help Scrope without telling the Headmaster where Scrope will tell you where the pages can be found as well as a ring he would like to give to his master. Agree to go to the Grotto and you can resume the quest.
Investigate the Grotto
Once the cutscene with Scrope is over head toward the quest marker along the beach.
Follow the beach but be careful of the Stoneback Dugbog along the way, use the Disillusionment charm to sneak by them if you don’t want to fight them as they have a lot of health and defense. Follow the path until you get to the entrance to the Grotto which looks like a small cave opening.
Head inside and climb ashore in front of a squid painted on the wall behind a stand where the quest marker is.
Place the toast Scrope gave you on the platform and it will activate the squid art and create a hole in the wall. Head inside and grab the journal off the desk inside:
A cutscene will start where you meet Richard Jackdaw, a ghost. He will tell you he knows where the pages are but he does not have them with him. He wants you to meet him at the edge of the Forbidden Forest and he will show you where the pages are.
Return to Scrope
Once you have finished with Richard Jackdaw return to see Scrope on the same beach near the broken docks where you will have to break the bad news to Scrope about the ring and complete this quest line.
This finishes Scrope’s Last Hope Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
