In Hogwarts Legacy you need to advance time to start certain quests, such as attending classes at day. The collectible type “Demiguise statues” can only be collected at night. Therefore, it’s good to know how to advance time, which the game doesn’t initially explain until it’s needed for main quests.
Here’s how to skip time in Hogwarts to change between night and day:
- Open the World Map
- Press the “Wait” Button displayed in the bottom right (on consoles it’s R3 / Right Stick)
Do note that in some locations this option may not be available. If you don’t get this button prompt, simply fast travel to the open world outside Hogwarts Castle and it should become available immediately. You can skip time as often as you want.

My game is broken and I can’t “wait”. Multiple missions require me to “wait” and I simply cannot. It says open my map and click right stick. When I do that nothing happens. I see other people have a little icon in the corner of their map for the wait option but my map doesn’t have it. I tried fast traveling all around like this guide says but nothing will fix it
