Introduction
Welcome to the GYLT Trophy Guide! GYLT is a narrative survival horror game with puzzles, stealth and action, set in a fictional old mining town in the state of Maine. It tells the story of Sally and her desperate search for her missing cousin, Emily. For the Platinum trophy you must complete the game without killing anyone (except for the Boses), collect a bunch of collectibles, and unlock three different Endings. You also must kill monsters in a specific way which can be done during your pacifist run without voiding the trophy.
Step 1: Finish the Game without Killing Anyone, Boss Trophies, Collect all Diaries and Blood Quartz, Free all Inhabitants, Good Ending
First, complete the game without killing anyone (except for bosses). You can still unlock the killing-related trophies assuming you immediately quit out to the main menu after unlocking the trophy you were going for. This ensures that the kill counters are reset back to zero, thus not voiding Avoid Conflict. While going for this trophy, you can also collect the 21 Diaries in the game for Those Are Her Feelings. Lastly, you need to defeat Exposure and Violence without being seen or hit respectively.
Second, in order to unlock the Good Ending, you must free all 10 Inhabitants in the game. To do so, you need to collect all 10 Blood Quartz, another collectible type. To ensure you get everything needed for Step 1, follow GYLT All Collectible Locations Guide. Once you have freed all 10 Inhabitants, you’re able to talk to the old man at the cable car station, thus unlocking the Good Ending.
Step 2: Bad Endings
After completing the game, simply press Continue from the main menu to choose a different Ending. Do the same once more for the second Bad Ending. If you still need any Collectibles, select Back to Campus from the main menu to return to Bethelwood to keep free-roaming.

Don’t be Exposed Escape from the Arcade without being detected by Exposure |
SEMI-MISSABLE
Area: Arcade, Arcade 2nd Floor After removing the battery from the arcade core inside the arcade, Exposure will try to find you. To unlock the trophy, you must make it out of the arcade without getting caught by its flashlight. Throughout the areas, use the surrounding covers to take cover and only go when it’s safe. You will unlock this trophy before opening the doors leading outside. Please note that it’s normal if you don’t unlock Secrets Are Private. You haven’t technically beaten Exposure just yet and you will unlock this trophy later on. |
Avoid the Violence Defeat Violence in the Laboratory Without Being Hit |
SEMI-MISSABLE
Area: Main Building, Second Floor, Laboratory At the end of the Laboratory section on the Second Floor of the Main Building, you’ll have to defeat Violence, a giant fiery monster. Here’s what you need to do to kill him: get his attention using your flashlight so that he rushes towards you. Move away when necessary, so that he hits the wall. This will cause some ceiling pipes to burst. Now, do the same again, but this time position yourself in a way so that he will run into the gush of water. This will damage him. After he gets hit, he will do an AoE attack, so keep your distance. This may or may not destroy other pipes in the room, so plan accordingly. After he gets damaged three times, a cutscene will start during which you’ll unlock this trophy if you’ve managed to do all of this without getting hit. You can always quit out to the Main Manu if you get hit and try again. Please note that it’s normal if you don’t unlock Violence is not the Answer. You haven’t technically beaten Violence just yet and will unlock this trophy later on. |
Secrets Are Private Defeat Exposure |
Area: Auditorium
Unmissable, story-related unlock. After retrieving the key to and opening the doors of the Auditorium itself, a cutscene will show Emily who has been taken captive by Exposure. To defeat Exposure, you have to turn off all of the cameras while trying to avoid as much spotlight damage as possible. |
Violence is not the Answer Defeat Violence |
Area: Gym’s Basement
Unmissable, story-related unlock. After retrieving the three keys from the Gym that gives you access to the basement, you’ll have to fight Violence again. To defeat Violence, you need to operate any of the valves in the room at the right time so that he gets sprayed by the water you release. After getting sprayed, he’ll be still for a few seconds, allowing you to spray your Fire Extinguisher at his belly. Rinse and repeat another twice more to unlock this trophy. |
Overcome the Helplessness Escape from Helplessness |
Area: The Mine
Unmissable, story-related unlock. When you reunite with Emily in the Mine, simply run away from Helplessness until the trophy pops. |
Let There be Light Defeat an Enemy with the Flashlight Beam |
Area: Main Building, First Floor, Library
After going through a bunch of rooms and a ventilation shaft, you’ll wind up in a room with some Christmas lights. Inside this room you can pick Sally’s bigger flashlight. Then, dispose of the eye in the corner to reveal another ventilation shaft. Crouch through it and the next room will be the Library. Inside the Library, aim your flashlight at the monster to kill him and this will unlock the trophy. IMPORTANT FOR NO-KILL RUN: immediately after unlocking the trophy, quit out to the main menu to reset the kill counter to 0 and then press Continue. |
Don’t Look at the Light Blind Three Enemies at the Same Time |

Area: Street, Exterior Street Area
After reaching the fire truck, you’ll have to enter a park. Immediately on your right, by a bench you can pick up the Flash Device, which allows you to flash-stun more monsters at once. Avoid Conflict End the Game without Killing Anyone (without bosses) |
To unlock this trophy, you must complete the game without killing any of the monsters. You’re still allowed to stun, blind, push, freeze, and distract them. You must simply avoid killing them. As such, the preferable approach is stealth and have a good stash of battery packs for stunning. You can still unlock the killing-related trophies assuming you immediately quit out to the main menu after obtaining the trophy you were going for. Doing so resets the in-game kill counter back to zero, thus not voiding this trophy. If everything goes well, this trophy will unlock right as soon as the end credits begin. | ||

Shocked! Shock an Enemy |
Area: Main Building, First Floor, Infirmary Hallway
Exit the Infirmary through the door diagonally opposite the wheelchair and then enter the ventilation shaft behind the two toppled brown lockers. When you get to the end of the shaft, wait for the monster on your left to leave before continuing, then make it to the green switch in the hallway to disable the electrical current running along the cable on the floor. Then, run towards the monster in front of you, use the flashlight to have him chase you and quickly go back to the switch to turn the current back on. This will kill the monster chasing you, thus unlocking this trophy. IMPORTANT FOR NO-KILL RUN: immediately after unlocking the trophy, quit out to the main menu to reset the kill counter to 0 and then press Continue. |
Oops… Sorry Hit an enemy with a can |
Area: Main Building, First Floor, Teachers’ Lounge
You can unlock this trophy immediately after Shocked!. After pressing Continue, leave the shaft again and enter the door on your right past the electrical current switch. First, grab the key from the noticeboard and then the empty soda can from the vending machine. Immediately after grabbing it, a monster will enter the room. Aim the can at the monster, making sure that it lands on him, then quickly hide if you’re in his view. This will unlock the trophy. |
Breaking the Ice Freeze and Enemy and Push Him |
First, you must obtain the Fire Extinguisher. This is an unmissable, story-related unlock during the Arts Center section of the game. Once you encounter a monster, sneak up to him then press and hold to aim and to spray. This will freeze the monster. When it’s in the frozen state, press to push it.
