GTA 3 Definitive Edition has 4 Off-Road Mission Locations. This guide shows where to find them all and how to complete them (updated for GTA 3 Trilogy Remaster on PS5, Xbox Series X, PC). The missions can be activated by getting into the respective vehicle. These do not appear on the map at all, but their locations can be found on the map below. These missions will require you to drive through a set of checkpoints that grant you extra time. These can be a bit frustrating to do as it can be very easy to flip your vehicle in these missions, but thankfully if you fail you can try again immediately.
Off-Road Missions Map
The red dots and numbers on the map below mark the locations.
1. Patriot Playground (Portland)
This can be started by entering the Patriot parked in the Supa Save! carpark in Portland View. You will need to collect 15 checkpoints scattered along the beach and the hills around Salvatore Mansion, with each one granting you 20 seconds. The timer will not start until you pick up the first checkpoint, so you can take your time to look around if you desire. The Patriot has extreme grip so can go up these hills fairly easily, just be careful not to flip when ascending. It is best to collect the checkpoints on the beach before heading up the hill near the mansion to collect those and the remaining checkpoints.
2. Multistorey Mayhem (Staunton Island)
This can be started by entering any Stallion and going to the entrance of the multistorey carpark in Newport, just east of your safehouse. You will need to collect 20 checkpoints scattered across the whole carpark, with each one granting you 5 seconds. You will start with 20 seconds and the timer will begin immediately. This is quite an easy mission, simply grab each checkpoint on a floor before heading up to the next one. Just make sure to grab checkpoints that are hiding in the corners and there should be no issue completing this.
3. A Ride in the Park (Staunton Island)
This can be started by entering the Landstalker next to the barn in the north of Belleville Park. You will need to collect 12 checkpoints scattered around the park, with each one granting you 10 seconds. The timer will not start until you pick up the first checkpoint, so you can take your time to look around if you desire. The Landstalker can flip very easily, so it’s best to quickly grab the first few checkpoints to build up some time, then cautiously get the remaining ones to avoid flipping. Start with the checkpoints by the water and head through the park.
4. Gripped! (Shoreside Vale)
This can be started by entering the Patriot in the picnic area to the northeast of Wichita Gardens. You will need to collect 20 checkpoints scattered along the hills of north Shoreside Vale, with each one granting you 15 seconds. The timer will not start until you pick up the first checkpoint, so you can take your time to look around if you desire. This is essentially a harder version of Patriot Playground, as the hills are extremely steep and you can lose your grip if you don’t approach them correctly. It is best to collect the checkpoints in the picnic area and then ascend the hill next to you, grabbing those checkpoints on the way. Going up here is the hardest part due to the steepness of the hill, however if you drive straight and don’t slow down or attempt to turn, you should be able to get up without too much hassle. Once you get up the first hill to where the mansions are, you are over the worst of it, and can collect the checkpoints over the hills in the back at a more leisurely pace. Just be cautious near edges so you don’t fall off, and try to stay away from Cartel members.
That’s all of the Off-Road Missions in GTA III Trilogy Definitive Edition. For all other Collectibles, see the GTA III 100% Completion Guide & Checklist.

For A Ride In The Park you should add the trick of getting the 3 checkpoints by the wall just by scraping against the wall. I never did this mission back on the ps2 as i always thought to get those checkpoints you had to jump the wall and swing back in the park afterwards and there’s never enough time to do that. This was giving me a massive headache then i remembered YouTube was a thing.
Get the first checkpoint on the boardwalk, the second on the big hill surrounded by water, reverse back down. Go for the 3 on the wall, one on its own then the 2 together by scraping against the wall. Then down the stairs at the toilets, then the other 2 by the other stairs. Then one under the bridge. By this point you have ample of time to get the remaining 3.
