This guide shows how to escape the burning tunnel trap in Case 2.2 of Gotham Knights to complete the objective “Escape the Trap”. This is a mandatory part of the story. After going through the Powers Club (Court of Owls Hideout), you will be in a tunnel with blades and fire. Here you have to get through the tunnel and avoid the traps along the way. The fire goes on and off, you can pass through it safely when it’s off. The metal blades spin in different directions. After they retreat they will change sides, so you can run along the opposite side that will then be open. Luckily, there’s a checkpoint at each platform between traps. However, you can’t wait too long, otherwise the razors behind you will catch up to you.
Case 2.2 – How to Escape the Trap
Step 1: The first wall of fire will turn on and off, walk through it when it’s off. In the next section are 3 spinning blades, zig-zag between them when they are spinning away from you:
Immediately after, there are 2 fires on the left and 1 blade on the right. Wait for the fires on the left to go out and pass through them. You reach the first platform/checkpoint after that.
Step 2: There will be 3 spinning fires moving towards you and away from you. They go out when they move away, that’s when you must run past them before they come back (press Left Stick to run). After this there are two spinning blades in the middle, run in the middle between them when they are spinning away:
The next area has 1 fire and 1 blade spinning in the middle. They switch positions when they move to the back. When they are both aligned in the middle (fire and blade in front of each other), you can run along the left side, after this is the next platform/checkpoint:
Step 3: From the safe point/platform, there will be 2 spinning blades and 1 fire ahead of you. Wait until they move to the back until they change from the blades being on the side, to the blades being aligned in the center. Then the right path is safe for you to cross.
Immediately behind are some spiked rolls. Stand in front of them until they go up, then quickly walk forward before they come back down. There is a 2nd set of these rolls, do the same thing again by waiting until they go up and then running forward.
This leads to the final section: 1 blade and 2 fires that go on and off. Here your timing needs to be good. Don’t rush it, just wait and observe how the blade changes directions when it reaches the back. When the blade goes on the right and the fires go out on the left, quickly sprint along the left wall. If you’re fast enough you can reach the end before the fires go on and before the blade comes back. Drop down the hole at the end to get to safety!
