The Untamed Fury is a Centaur type miniboss in God of War Ragnarok. It can be found in the Crater area of Vanaheim. What makes this boss special is that it will throw smoke and disappear after dealing it a certain amount of damage. Then it shows up again in another spot. In total it has 5 locations. It will spawn at these spots in a fixed order, it’s not random. If it doesn’t spawn at one location try changing the daytime at a Celestial Altar and check again. Fast traveling away and coming back may also help.
What does Untamed Fury do?
Untamed Fury is a centaur boss that disappears and reappears at different points. It drops the Hunter’s Brand, which is an item needed for craft the Hunter’s Armor Set.
All Untamed Fury Spawns
Location #1: The Sinkholes
The first encounter is at the start of The Sinkholes, after sliding down the rope from The Plains check in the left corner. After dealing it a bit of damage it will disappear which is normal. It spawns in the second spot next.
Location #2: The Sinkholes
Next spawn is at the end of The Sinkholes where you fight the flying dragon, next to a Nornir Chest. You will automatically come across it while 100%ing the area. Just after climbing out of a tunnel section.
Location #3: The Plains
Near the start of the Plains, when coming back from The Sinkholes.
Location #4: The Jungle
Inside the Jungle, when you come from The Plains it’s along the path on the right.
Location #5: The Jungle
Final spawn is in the Fury’s Lair. From the mystic gateway “The Jungle” (after Favor: Return of the River), go to the side to find a hole you can crawl through, leading to the lair behind the Mystic Gateway. This is the final encounter where you can slay the Untamed Fury. If you forgot to loot the Hunter’s Brand it gets put in the chest at the blacksmith.

There isn’t a fixed order. My first encounter with her was in the plains after first turning it to night.

Not sure if it’s the same on higher difficulties but with the right upgrades on story you can actually skip one of the 4 fights if you hit her with enough damage. I just completely skipped the fight by the nornir chest in the sinkhole because the second fight I had with her I managed to stun her in a way that let me R3 her for a ton of damage.
Not sure exactly what I did to trigger it but I was using the Steinbjörn armor and was at least level 7 with 3 Niflheim for the extra damage based off defense with high health and 3 Svartalheim enchantments for the extra stun based on defense on my amulet.
