Find the final Mask Fragment
When entering Helheim, Heimdall leaves to do something else, so you’re on your own with Thrud for the entire quest. This area is a whole lot more linear than Muspelheim was, so you can basically just always follow the path ahead and don’t need to pull out the mask much. Follow the linear path through the groups of enemies, then you can interact with a crank on the left corner at the first dead end to open the door.
Head all the way to the end of the path ahead into the building, then pull out the mask and point it at the wall so that you recognize you can’t get through.
Head back outside where some more Hel-Walkers will appear from the upper platform. Deal with them, then you can interact with the large crate beside the wall to push it over, allowing you to climb up.
Climb up to the upper level, then first go to the left where you can find a Legendary Chest containing the Falling Sky Bow Ability.
Head to the other side of the platform where you enter a small room. Look up to the wall on the right where you can spot some Sound Stone on the wall. Shoot the one on the right side, followed by the clamp behind it to drop a box down on the other side of the wall.
Head back down and climb up the box you dropped to reach the upper floor. Deal with the Hel-Walkers in the room, then look to the right side where you can find a barrel sitting on a plate, both of which you can destroy with Sonic Arrows to reach the lower area.
You can pick up 3 x Ydalir Timber and 4 x Stonewood from a Materials Chest right when you drop down, then continue along the path, dealing with the enemies that appear. When you go up a flight of stairs you’ll need to pull out the mask to point it at a door, then try to interact with it.
Thrud will hold it open for you, so you can then shoot the clamp through the gap which drops a crate again back in the prior area.
Climb up and you’ll have some more enemies to deal with before you can continue. Once they’re dealt with, interact with the crank to the left of the door.
Walk halfway towards the next door ahead, then turn around and look behind the pile of boxes to find another plate on the ground you can destroy to drop through.
Point out the mask and point it towards the crate sitting in the wall to prompt Thrud to push it, then walk back to the right and look over the hole in the ground where you can shoot a clamp to release the box she’s trying to push.
Head into that room, and shoot the Sound Stone above the next box to make a route for you to climb up.
Follow the path into the next room where you can open a Materials Chest to obtain 3 x Ydalir Timber and 4 x Honed Metal. You can then try to interact with the door ahead to prompt Thrud to try opening it again. Back up and look to the right of the door where there will now be a clamp you can shoot, allowing Thrud to fully push the door open.
Follow the path ahead into the next room after defeating the enemies, and wait for Thrud to push the crate on the right, allowing you to grapple out of the room.
Head to the end of the path where the Legendary Chest is to grab the Wrath of the Wolf Runic Summon, then look immediately to the left where you can shoot a clamp against the building wall, dropping a crate in the room you just came from.
Head back towards the building and you will be attacked by a couple of Revenants. Thrud is still on the other side of the wall, so you’ll need to deal with these on your own (with Ingrid’s help). The do get stunned constantly if you hit them with melee, so if you can get in range you can take them out relatively easily. When they’re dealt with climb back up the chain to get back to Thrud.
Keep following the linear path ahead until you reach the wolf. There will be 3 clamps you need to interact with, and the first two you’ll need to mash to help Thrud open them.
After the third clamp is released head through the gap behind where the wolf was and pull the mask out one more time.
Find a way back to Asgard
Follow Thrud back the way you came and Heimdall will return. After the scene you’ll automatically be taken back to Asgard.
Find Odin and explain what happened
Follow Heimdall out of the cavern and up to Odin’s study.
Return to Atreus’ quarters
After a short talk, you can head out of the study to Atreus’ room. After being in the room for a moment, interact with the door to continue.
Return home to Sindri’s
After speaking with Odin, you’ll be back in Midgard at the house. Head outside and deal with the Hel-Walkers that are hanging around the house again, then interact with the Mystic Gateway to head to Sindri’s.
Repe; the Hel-Walkers
Outside Sindri’s house, there will be a bunch of Hel-Walkers appearing out of portals. Start attacking them as they appear.
Freya will start working on closing the rift, so you need to defend her. The timer on the top of the screen is linked to how many enemies you defeat instead of being strictly time-based, so you still want to take out the enemies as fast as you can. After a bit Freya will ask for Atreus to help, and you can interact with the green point to her right, then start mashing when prompted.
After a short period, you’ll switch to playing as Kratos, and need to keep defending the pair closing the rift until it is complete.
This finishes Unleashing Hel in God of War Ragnarok.
