God of War Ragnarok The Lost Treasure Favor Walkthrough

The Lost Treasure is a Favor (Side Quest) for Elder Wayfarer Spirit in God of War Ragnarok. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Lost Treasure Side Quest. For an overview of all quests in the game see God of War Ragnarok All Favors.

Requirement: Acquired the Draupnir Spear (complete Main Mission 10: Forging Destiny)
Reward: 3000 Kratos XP, 750 Freya XP, Svefnthorn, Alberich’s Treasure (Jewel of Yggdrasil and 5000 Hacksilver)

Starting Location: The Lost Treasure

The Lost Treasure can be started by talking to the Elder Wayfarer Spirit on Dragon Beach in Svartalfheim after acquiring the Draupnir Spear from Main Mission 10: Forging Destiny.

Find the treasure in Alberich Hollow

Swing over to the bridge and follow it along to Alberich Hollow. Deal with the enemies and use the fire bomb dispenser to blow up the ore covering the Legendary Chest and the ore blocking the path.

Deal with some more enemies, then kill the Odin’s Raven sitting on the ledge to the left. Blow up some more ore and you’ll have a boss fight with Ormstunga, a Wicked Grim.

Ormstunga is very agile, jumping around constantly and attacking very quickly, making him difficult on higher difficulties. Ormstunga will do multiple attacks when at range; spitting acid at you, back-to-back block break tongue lashes, a block break diving slash – all of which can be dodged or parried – and his deadliest attack, an unblockable jump attack. This attack is very quick and you only have a moment to dodge it after seeing the red indicator. Due to this it is recommended to play defensively when he is at range, as rushing him or attacking aggressively can be costly if he launches a jump attack.

When at close range he will mostly do a flurry attack of four slashes, which can be blocked or parried. This is your best chance to deal damage to him, as you can start off with regular blocks, then either dodge or parry at the end of the combo for an attack opening. At lower health, he will also do a poison spray attack, extend his flurry combos and occasionally do a block break flurry which is best dodged.

You can opt to use the fire bomb dispensers in the area to deal damage from range, however be wary when using these as he can launch an attack while you’re grabbing a bomb. The bombs will also do damage to you if you throw them too close, so only use them at range if you do use them. If you need to heal with Spartan Valour, hide behind a rock so that he cannot do any range attacks while you heal.

Once he is dead, climb up onto the ledge to the left for an Yggdrasil Rift. Turn around and throw a fire bomb through the gap to destroy the ore.

Open the Legendary Chest ahead for the treasure. Head across to the right for a Treasure Map.

Find the Spirit’s son

Head north to Alberich Island.

There will be a Nornir Chest on the shore, which can be opened by ringing the bells. One is next to the chest, one is hanging off a crane to the left, and one is behind a fence and can be raised by throwing your axe at object to the left.

Use your Spear to climb up and speak to the Wayfarer Spirit.

Find the treasure on Alberich Island

Head forward and smash the soundstone on the left, then kill the Odin’s Raven flying above the water. Head down and look towards the water wheel to see a rock you can destroy with your Spear.
