Collectibles Overview:
Collectibles
#1 – Favor: Song of the Sands
First you should have finished the Collectibles in The Burrows (see The Burrows Collectible Guide). While going through that region you will automatically do the Song of the Sands Favor to free the big jellyfish. Afterward you only need to go back to the desert area above ground and cut loose the jellyfish, then the Favor will finish.
#2 – Odin’s Raven
In front of the Elven Sanctum you must destroy the breakable rocks to squeeze through the wall, leading to a hidden area. The Raven is flying inside on the left.
#3 – Nornir Chest
Same place as the previous Raven (see above description). You must first throw the axe at the purple crystal to make it fly through the 3 glowing red sacks. Then light 3 braziers. #1 is on the left, shoot a purple arrow at the campfire next to it. #2 is on the right, look down. There’s a campfire near it, place purple arrows between the brazier and campfire (can shoot up to 3 arrows in 1 spot to increase effect radius), then hit the campfire with a purple arrow to cause an explosion, the fire will cause a chain reaction that will light the brazier. #3 is also on the right, look up and shoot a green arrow at the movable wall, it will open briefly when shot. Plant 2 x triple purple arrows between the 2nd and 3rd brazier. Then shoot the 2nd brazier with a purple arrow to cause an explosion and have the fire jump over to the 3rd brazier. The moveable door in front of the 3rd brazier should be kept open, so you may need to shoot another green arrow at it if it closes.
#4 – Artifact (Tributes to Freyr – Bracelet)
At the entrance gate to Elven Sanctum, to the right of the gate.
#5 – Lore (Lore Marker – Rules of the Sanctum)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, ground level.
#6 – Lore (Scroll – An Examination of Temporal Significance)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, ground level.
#7 – Lore (The Lost Pages)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, ground level.
#8 – Lore (Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, upstairs.
#9 – Legendary Chest (Jewel of Yggdrasil)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, upstairs.
#10 – Consul’s Journal (Quest Item – Favor: The Elven Sanctum)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, upstairs.
#11 – Lore (Lore Marker – The Arbiters of Knowledge)
Inside the Elven Sanctum, upstairs.
#12 – Favor: The Elven Sanctum
Automatically completed when you picked up the Consul’s Journal and left the Elven Sanctum.
#13 – Buried Treasure (Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower)
In the north of The Forbidden Sands, slightly west of Elven Sanctum. Climb up the wall and smash through the wall, then the treasure is on the right. You must first get “Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower”, see Collectible #8: Lore (Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower) above, found here in Forbidden Sands region.
#14 – Artifact (Tributes to Freyr – Token)
Behind the Treasure squeeze through the gap to find an Artifact and Yggdrasil Rift.
#15 – Yggdrasil Rift
Same spot as the Artifact (see above).
#16 – Odin’s Raven
In the north-west of the region, flying in circles in front of a big statue that’s holding up a sword. Where the “Freyr’s Gift” Favor takes place.
#17 – Favor: Freyr’s Gift (Runic Summon: Invoke the Storm)
In the same place where the Raven is flying (see above). You must place 2 crystals upstairs above the bridge. The first requires shooting a sonic arrow at the right to open the moveable wall, then throw the axe through it to blow up the red sacks, walk around the corner to pick up the crystal, place it upstairs (on the right when facing the statue). For the second crystal, go back down, pull out the crystal on the left to disable the small light bridge, then you can throw the axe to destroy the wall blocking your path. Put back the crystal, grab the other crystal that powers the main bridge in the middle, place that one upstairs (on the left when facing the statue). This will shine two lights at the statue, pick up the glowing item in front of the Lore Marker to complete the favor.
#18 – Lore (Lore Marker – The Enlightened One)
After finishing “Favor: Freyr’s Gift” and this Lore Marker will turn on, it’s in the same place where the favor finishes, basically the reward for it.
#19 – Alfheim Barrens Key Half (Favor: The Desert Door)
Picked up in a blue circle in the south-west of the region. You need the two key halves for Favor “The Desert Door“. The key itself doesn’t count as a collectible but the favor does. Only spawns after Favor: Freyr’s Gift.
#20 – Nine Realms in Blossom (Flower: Dawnbloom)
In the south-west of the region.
#21 – Lore (Lore Marker – Bjarg Stormr)
From the flower climb up a wall to see it.
#22 – Odin’s Raven
Behind the Lore Marker.
#23 – Nornir Chest
In the south-west of the region, lift the rock to find the Nornir Chest. You must light 3 braziers with your Chaos Blades + to open the chest. #1 is to the right of the chest itself. #2 is across from the chest on the rock, place 3 purple arrows and attack one with Chaos Blades to cause a chain reaction (you can shoot 3 arrows at the same spot to make the reaction circle bigger). #3 is below what looks like a big rock bridge, again string 3 purple arrows together to cause a chain reaction, must shoot 3 arrows at same spot (9 arrows total) to reach far enough.
#24 – Legendary Chest (Hardened War Handles – Blades Attachment)
In the south of the region, there’s a little cave with two purple mirrors hanging from the ceiling and two sets of red explosive sacks. Throw an axe at the right mirror to get rid of the red sacks on that side. Then burn the vines on the left mirror. You do this by shooting purple arrows at it and causing a chain reaction with the Chaos Blades. Then turn the left mirror to face the right mirror, and the right mirror to face the red sacks on the left. Throw the axe at the left mirror, it will deflect to the right mirror, which deflects it toward the red sacks to clear the path. Then the legendary chest is found behind those red sacks.
#25 – Berserker Gravestone (Grip of the Nine Realms – Axe Attachment)
In the south of the region, just outside the cave where the Legendary Chest was.
#26 – Alfheim Barrens Key Half (Favor: The Desert Door)
Picked up in a blue circle in the east of the region. You need the two key halves for Favor “The Desert Door“. The key itself doesn’t count as a collectible but the favor does. Only spawns after Favor: Freyr’s Gift.
#27 – Odin’s Raven
Sitting on a rock in the east of the region. Can be seen from the middle of the area.
#28 – Artifact (Kvasir’s Poems – Trip)
On top of a little tower in the north-east of the region.
#29 – Favor: The Desert Door
See the 2 “Alfheim Barrens Key Half” locations above. After getting these, go to the quest marker in the north of the map to open the desert door. Defeat the Gravel Belly boss, it drops Skirnir’s Gambanteinn & Dragon Claw & Dragon Tooth resources.
That’s 100% of the collectibles you can find in The Forbidden Sands area in God of War Ragnarok.
