God of War Ragnarok In Service of Asgard Favor Walkthrough

In Service of Asgard is a Favor (Side Quest) for Raeb in God of War Ragnarok. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the In Service of Asgard Side Quest. For an overview of all quests in the game see God of War Ragnarok All Favors.

Requirement: Access to Svartalfheim
Reward: 500 Kratos XP, 125 Atreus XP, Nidavellir Ore (used to make Nidavellir’s Finest Armour Set)

Objectives:

Shut down Althjof’s Rig
Shut down Radsvinn’s Rig
Shut down Modvitnir’s Rig

Starting Location: In Service of Asgard

In Service of Asgard can be started by talking to the dwarf bard Raeb in Nidavellir, which can be done immediately after speaking to him as part of the story.

Alternatively, if you didn’t accept it from Raeb, you will automatically get the favor on your way out of Nidavellir town, when you reach the big lake, Mimir will bring it up during the boat ride and the favor will begin without talking to the quest giver.

For this Favor you will need to shut down the three rigs in the Bay of Bounty. Head to them in any order to deal with them.

Shut down Modvitnir’s Rig

Modvitnir’s Rig will be the closest one once you reach the Bay of Bounty, so head west and land on the beach.

Climb onto the platform to the right and shoot the switch to cross, then climb the tower. Here you will find a Legendary Chest to loot.

Swing across the gap, and drop down to the right to find a Lore Marker.

Climb back up, then throw your axe at the right switch on the crane to rotate it so you can cross the next gap.

Cross the gap and climb up, where you will need to defeat the Bergsra Mother. Lure her near the flame vessels and destroy them to make quick work of her. After defeating her, shut down the rig.

Shut down Radvinn’s Rig

Head into the middle of the Bay of Bounty to the island with The Watchtower, and head along until you reach Radsvinn’s Rig.

Deal with all the Grims and Nightmares, then destroy the rig.

While you’re here, there are a few collectibles you can grab. Head behind the rig to the wall to find a lore scroll.

Around the area you will find 3 braziers you can light with your Chaos Blades – one behind some barrels to your left you can destroy with Atreus’ bow, one behind a fence that can be lit by throwing your Leviathan Axe at a flame vessel, and one next to the Nornir Chest that they open.

Lastly, there is an Odin’s Raven on the crane hook next to the chest.

Shut down Althjof’s Rig

Head to the northwest of the Bay of Bounty to find Althjof’s Rig.

Climb up the chain and immediately you will see an Odin’s Raven you can kill.

Head over to the wheel and lower the gantry, then pull down the elevator so you can jump and swing over.

Once across, blow up the wall with the barrel using your blades.

Head through the area and climb up onto the platform, where you can open a shortcut to the start and open a gate to another barrel you can destroy, opening up more paths.

Go through the newly opened path to the left and climb around the wall, then jump down to smash the floor below. Deal with the Draugrs and read the rune read on the wall. Use your blades to raise the elevator back up, then return the wheel raise the gantry.

Climb up the shortcut and cross the elevator and gantry, then lower the chain for another shortcut.

Climb up and deal with the Draugrs and Grims, then destroy the rig.

While you’re here, there are a few more collectibles you can grab. In the corner are some barrels that Atreus can destroy, allowing you to climb around to another chain shortcut. Lower it and go down to the wheel to raise the gantry, then return and swing across to break open the wall.
