Deus Ex Malachite is the 2nd Favour (Side Quest) for Brok in God of War 2018. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Brok’s Deus Ex Malachite Favour.
- Quest Giver: Brok (at one of his shops)
- Requirement: Given by Brok after completing the story missions “A New Destination” and his first favour “Second Hand Soul“.
- Reward: Epic Enchantment and 3290 XP
Starting Location Deus Ex Malachite – from one of Brok’s Shops
The earliest you can obtain this quest is after completing the story quest “A New Destination” and after completing his first favour “Second Hand Soul”. Here is one of Brok’s shops in Midgard you can collect the quest from:
Remember, once the quest has been accepted head into your Goals tab of your start menu and move over to the favours tab and track the favour to get the waypoint to show on your compass.
Meet Brok at the Landsuther Mines
Get in your boat and sail South to Landsuthor Canyon. Navigate the waterway until you get to the beach to dock your boat, this is Landsuther Mine. Continue forward until you reach Brok’s camp. Speak to Brok to receive the ring and entry stone.
Search for Andvari’s hammer
Head down to the pedestal and use the entry stone to open the door. Head forward and take out the horde of Tatzelwurms. Head to the South side of the room and locate the lever, use it to knock down the stones in the wooden harness and climb up the backside. At the top shoot down the other mechanism holding the stone and they will go crashing through the floor and a group of Dark Elves will spawn. Take them out and hop in the hole in the floor you created. After taking out the Nightmares at the bottom continue to head East upward onto the platform ahead to the left of the small waterfall. Continue onward until you get to the room with the Soul Eater and a Traveller.
Defeat the Traveller and Tatzelwurm and head up top on the platform to the right of the Soul Eater and jump across. Head through the doorway to the West and continue through the path climbing your way around the scaffolding until you get to the switch near the zipline. Then use the switch to raise the rocks straight ahead so you can climb towards Andvari’s workshop. Once you climb to the top you will have a tough fight to get through consisting of Dark Elves and a Svartáljǫfurr. Send Atreus through the west side of the platform to open the gate for you. Now you can head inside and open the chest straight ahead.
Return to Brok
Head to the Northern side of the room and you will see a cart with rocks in them. Push the cart to the south to break through the wall straight ahead. Climb down the chain and exit to the West and speak with Brok to finish the Deus Ex Malachite favour.
