Ghost of Tsushima The Six Blades of Kojiro Walkthrough

July 16, 2020 by Darth_Krid 13 Comments

The Six Blades of Kojiro is a Mythic Side tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Six Blades of Kojiro Mythic Quest.

The Six Blades of Kojiro is unlocked when you’ve completed A New Horizon.

Mythic Tale: The Six Blades of Kojiro
Act:
2
Region:
 Toyotama
Quest Giver: Yamato
Requirement: Complete A New Horizon
Rewards: Moderate Legend Increase, Kensei Armour
Mission Info: I thought I heard the musician in Umagi Cove. I should find him.

Objectives:

  • Find the musician in Umugi
  • Defeat the five Straw Hat Assassins
  • Speak with the musician in Umugi Cove
  • Locate the duel entrance at Omi Monastery
  • Speak with Kojiro
  • Duel on the Mirror of Sacred Light

Starting Location: The Six Blades of Kojiro

Find the musician in Umugi

Find Yamato in Umugi, who looks scared and urgently needs to speak to you.

Defeat the five Straw Hat Assassins

These are the 5 Straw Hat Assassin Locations:

You have to defeat the five Straw Hat Assassins (Ronin) in duels around Toyotama. Thankfully, they’re marked on your map and the locations are shown above. The five duels are Duel Under Autumn Leaves, Duel of Crashing Waves, Duel in the Drowning Marsh, Duel Among Spider Lilies and Duel Under Falling Water.

Duels are basically bosses, where you are one-on-one with another swordsman and you can’t use your throwables or bows. It’s a straight-up swordfight so you must constantly be dodging and parrying, striking on the counter when you can. If you have full Resolve and have learned Heavenly Strike or Dance of Wrath, you can spam them to deal significant damage to your enemies or even finish them off very quickly.

An easy method is to use is holding down :triangle: in Water Stance, then releasing and hammering :triangle: a few times for a long combo. Even though this stance is meant for breaking shields, it works quite well to break any guard. Because it does so many strikes, even if they are blocked it will drain the guard-bar quickly. Alternatively, the Stone Stance (which is specifically for Sword enemies like these the Ronin), is great when holding down :triangle: and releasing, particularly if you upgraded this stance to do multiple strikes. Remember you can always switch to easy difficulty if these enemies are giving you trouble, or upgrade weapons/armor and come back later after the story.

Speak with the musician in Umugi Cove

Return to Yamato, who is in exactly the same place as earlier. He’ll send you on the trail to face your sixth and final duel, Kojiro.

Locate the duel entrance at Omi Monastery

Head to Omi Monastery, which is in the north-west of Toyotama. Kojiro’s hideout can be found to the right of the giant Buddha statue, through a gap in the rocks.

Speak with Kojiro

Press :r2: to speak with your foe.

Duel on the Mirror of Sacred Light

Time for your sixth and final duel. Kojiro is tougher than your other opponents, striking fast and with unblockable attacks (unless you’ve purchased the Perfect Dodge ability). Patience is key; if you go on the offensive you will be struck down fast. Wait for him to make a move, then dodge or counter as appropriate and whittle his health down, supplemented with your special Resolve abilities. After you strike the final blow, this quest is done.

This finishes The Six Blades of Kojiro quest in Ghost of Tsushima.

You have to start that location main quest. Where you have to talk to the head woman above him.

Does this quest automatically start off as incompletable if you had already killed all 5 assassins beforehand? Because I can’t seem advance past that objective due to already clearing those points of interest.

Nevermind! I was apparently still missing the duel hidden way in the top right corner (under the Autumn trees). I still wonder if doing all 5 before initiating the quest can potentially glitch it permenantly. Would be something worth experimenting on a future playthrough.

Doing the 5 Duels before isn’t a problem. I did that and accepted the quest afterward. Then it gave me the next quest marker immediately without the need to kill those 5 duelists again. Doing it that way doesn’t void anything 🙂

Did you accepct the quest before the first duel? I completed two duels and then went there, but there is no musician there.

This side quest hasn’t been discovered yet and I completed the story. Does anyone know what I have to do?

Well, I solved it. There is another task which let you helo them find a girl in the same location, finish that first and then this task will appear automatically.

Why isn’t anyone stating the name of this quest? Everyone just says “find girl”. Can we get the title, location, etc?

Anything to do with the Buddha statue on top seems like something hidden there behind kojiro
