Ghost of Tsushima The Coward of Yarikawa Walkthrough

July 16, 2020 by Darth_Krid Leave a Comment

The Coward of Yarikawa is a main tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Coward of Yarikawa Main Quest.

The Coward of Yarikawa is unlocked when you’ve completed The Walls of Yarikawa.

Main Tale: The Coward of Yarikawa
Act:
2
Region:
 Toyotama
Quest Giver: Yuna
Requirement: Complete ‘The Walls of Yarikawa‘
Rewards: Major Legend Increase
Mission Info: Yarikawa Stronghold is under Mongol siege, and their best archers have gone missing. If Yuna and I can return them safely home, they can aid the town’s defence – and we will prove our good intentions. I will meet Yuna in Old Yarikawa to begin the search

Objectives:

  • Meet Yuna in Old Yarikawa
  • Examine the dead Mongols
  • Search for tracks
  • Follow the unknown tracks
  • Search the house for archers
  • Save Taka from the bear
  • Search the house for archers
  • Speak with Yuna
  • Search near the camp fire
  • Follow the tracks
  • Approach the archers
  • Survey the Mongol camp
  • Speak with Taka
  • Trigger the ambush at the right time
  • Defeat the Mongols
  • Speak with Daikoku

Starting Location: The Coward of Yarikawa

Meet Yuna in Old Yarikawa

Approach her and speak to her next to a steaming pot.

Examine the dead Mongols

As soon as the mission starts, you’ll have some dead Mongols in front of you. Examine them with :r2: .

Search for tracks

The tracks are literally two steps away from the dead Mongols.

Follow the unknown tracks

Follow the footprints down the track ahead, up a wooden ramp, and then straight ahead up a grassy hill. Keep following the road to a rock and then look down below you to find more tracks on a road. Follow them through a gate and into a house.

Search the house for archers

Head up to the house — where Taka gets a fright.

Save Taka from the bear

You’ll have to kill the bear. A fire arrow works well, or if you’ve learned Perfect Dodge, one execution of this will kill the bear.

Search the house for archers

Search the Goza mats on the floor to the left and the arrows in the room on the right.

Speak with Yuna

You will automatically speak with Yuna crouching by the dying embers of a fire.

Search near the camp fire

Examine the cart with explosive barrels on it and then find some more tracks near the mat.

Follow the tracks

Head down the hill, following the tracks and Yuna, until you see the archers ahead of you.

Approach the archers

Head down the hill you’re on and then up the next one to meet the three archers.

Survey the Mongol camp

Another survey section. You know the drill by now.

Speak with Taka

You will have a talk with Taka automatically in a cutscene.

Trigger the ambush at the right time

Taka will ask if it’s the right time, and Jin will say no. However, he’ll then say “They’re close enough now, right?” and that’s when you shoot the red barrel below you. It should kill a decent amount of the Mongols.

Defeat the Mongols

You’ll have to finish off the remaining Mongols who are all of the blue armor variety. Instead of jumping down to meet them, you can thin the herd from your vantage point with explosive and fire arrows, or your bombs if you wish. When there are just a few left, jump down and deliver swift justice with your blade.

Speak with Daikoku

Speak to Daikoku on the road.

This finishes The Coward of Yarikawa quest in Ghost of Tsushima.
