Ghost of Tsushima Legendary Thief Outfit (Cooper Clan Cosplayer)

July 16, 2020 by PowerPyx 14 Comments

In Ghost of Tsushima you must dress up in the Legendary Thief Outfit for the Cooper Clan Cosplayer trophy. This guide shows how to get the Legendary Thief Outfit.

It’s a reference to a Sly Cooper attire. It requires 5 pieces: Sword Kit, Helmet, Mask, Body Armor, Dye. The earliest you can do this is after reaching the 3rd region “Kamiagata” because the last pieces are there.

You can still do all of this after the story in free-roam, nothing is missable (doesn’t matter what dialogues and ending you pick during the story).

Sly Tanuki (Sword Kit)

The Sly Tanuki (Sword Kit) is found from a Pillar of Honor. It’s in Region 3: Kamiagata, in the Kin Prefecture.

Crooked Kama Headband (Helmet)

The Crooked Kama Headband is found on top of Jogaku Temple in Region 3: Kamigata (your settlement north of the frozen lake that’s marked by a golden icon on the world map). Look for the tallest temple building directly at the frozen lake. You can grapple up there. The grappling points are on the corners of the roof. However, you can’t see the grapple prompt when standing directly under them. To get up there, stand on the deck of the temple and jump off the corner – as you jump look up and press :r2: . By jumping off the deck you get closer to the grappling point. Once on the first roof you simply :x: jump and :r2: grapple up from one roof to the next. The item pickup is at the very top in the center of the roof.

Thief’s Wrap (Mask)

The Thief’s Wrap (Mask) is obtained as a gift from gift altars. For example, you find a gift altar at Golden Temple in Region 1: Izuhara. It won’t be available from the start. You must advance the story and it will automatically become available after more story progress has been made. After finishing the story it will definitely be there, but it should show up sooner than that. You don’t have to pick it up right away, it will stay there forever until you pick it up. I never interacted with a gift altar during the story and it was still there after the story.

Gosaku’s Armor (Body)

Gosaku’s Armor is obtained from Mythic Tale “The Unbreakable Gosaku” in Region 2: Toyotama. The starting location is shown in the images below:

This quest requires you to liberate 6 specific farms: Aoi, Iijima, Kuta, Koshimizu, Ohama, Yagata. These are occupied Mongol territories. Their locations are shown below. Complete all six of them, each one gives you a key to Gosaku’s Armor.

Once you have the six keys, you should get a new quest marker in the south of region 2 (be sure to track The Unbreakable Gosaku Mythic Tale from your Journal). The quest marker is also shown on the map image below. Once there, you will need to kill some enemies and complete a small climbing section to finish the Tale. At the end of it, you automatically get Gosaku’s Armor as a quest reward.

Ocean’s Guardian (Dye)

The Ocean’s Guardian Dye needs to be bought from a merchant, for example the one at Umugi Cove is selling it. You must have unlocked Gosaku’s Armor first to buy the Dye. It’s a blue color.

Finished Thief’s Outfit

Now that you have all the required parts, it’s time to put on the Thief’s Outfit.

The parts are:

  • Sly Tanuki (Sword Kit)
  • Crooked Kama Headband (Helmet)
  • Thief’s Wrap (Mask)
  • Gosaku’s Armor (Body)
  • Ocean’s Guardian (Dye)

The trophy “Cooper Clan Cosplayer trophy will unlock instantly when everything is equipped at the same time. It’s a Sly Cooper reference, the outfit is supposed to portray the Sly Cooper game character. Here are some images what the full Thief’s Outfit looks like:

That’s all there is to finding the Sly Cooper Outfit, aka Legendary Thief Outfit.

You know the 6 keys you need to get the armour for the sly cooper trophy, what if you’ve already taken over those locations? Are the keys still there?

You will already have gotten the keys automatically if you liberated them. The last farmer you free always gives it to you (no need to have the quest active, I accepted the quest AFTER having liberated everything and it worked fine).

I’m in act one and found aoi, but there are no Mongols there. It is also not marked as occupied. Do I need to worry?

They don’t become occupied for purposes of this quest until Act 2

I’m not sure if this is a bug but you might not actually require the thief’s mask. The trophy unlocked for me before I put it on, not that it’s hard to obtain regardless.

I wore the Wolf of Tsushima mask & got it. Looks more like the little furry guy it’s referencing, imo.
