Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island All Forgotten Shrine Solutions & Locations (Wind Shrines)

Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island has 3 Forgotten Shrine Locations, also called Wind Shrines in the Collection Menu (Shrine of Ash, Shrine of Shadow, Blood-stained Shrine). This guide shows all the Forgotten Shrine Solutions and their rewards.

These Puzzle Shrines have a poem in front of them that gives some hints, but it can be very confusing to figure out what to do here. To solve the Forgotten Shrines you’ll have to wear a specific Armor and perform a specific action near the Shrines, such as drawing your blade, healing yourself, or throwing a smoke bomb.

Each Forgotten Shrine is an easter egg to other PlayStation Games – God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Bloodborne.

Best of all, you unlock a unique armor skin from each Forgotten Shrine. This is how you unlock the God of War Armor, Shadow of the Colossus Armor and Bloodborne Armor in Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island.

Shrine of Ash

Shrine of Ash – Location: This Forgotten Shrine is found in the east of Iki Island, at Yahata Forest.

Shrine of Ash – Riddle:

In fall, a tree fruits
which grows from seed to sapling,
a stranger and son.
Boy, honor your father’s fight.
Show him the strength of your blade.

Shrine of Ash – Solution: Stand behind the Shrine Statue, Wear the Sakai Clan Armor (Automatically obtained during Act 2 – Main Quest: Ghosts from the Past), Swipe Touchpad Right to draw your Katana. This will result in a cutscene when done correctly.
The important hints in the poem are “honor your father’s fight” which refers to the Sakai Clan Armor and “show him the strength of your blade” which refers to drawing your Katana.

Shrine of Ash – Reward: God of War Armor Skin

Shrine in Shadow

Shrine in Shadow – Location: Found in the very south of Iki Island, at Buddha’s Footprints region.

Shrine in Shadow – Riddle:

Stone knows no season,
nor the colossus that was
felled to save one soul.
Wanderer, come like through mist,
a ghost casting no shadow.

Shrine in Shadow – Solution: Stand behind the Shrine Statue, wear the Ghost Armor (Automatically obtained during Act 2 – Main Quest: From the Darkness), throw a Smoke Bomb (hold R2 + Down to select and press R1 to throw).
The important parts of the poem are “a ghost casting no shadow” which refers to the Ghost Armor and “Wanderer, come like through mist” which refers to the Smoke Bomb.

Shrine in Shadow – Reward: Shadow of the Colossus Armor Skin

Blood-Stained Shrine

Blood-Stained Shrine – Location: Found in the south-west of Iki Island, at Conoura Cape region.

Blood-Stained Shrine – Riddle:

The first green of spring
sickens to black, decaying,
plagued by blood and beast.
Hunter, reject death’s allure.
Prepare to duel man’s frailty.

Blood-Stained Shrine – Solution: Wear the Kensei Armor (Reward for completing Mythic Tale “The Six Blades of Kojiro“), stand behind the Statue and heal yourself (press Down). You can only heal yourself if you’ve been injured, you can simply jump off the cliffs next to the Shrine to hurt yourself and then heal yourself behind the Shrine.
The important line of the poem is “reject death’s allure” which refers to healing yourself to avoid death.

Blood-Stained Shrine – Reward: Bloodborne Armor Skin
