Ghost of Tsushima has 25 Duel Locations. Completing all Duels unlocks the There Can Be Only One trophy. This guide shows all required Duels. It’s worth noting that the in-game Collectible Counter shows only 5 Duels which are found in the open world, but there are a lot more of them required for the trophy.
None of the Duels are missable! It doesn’t matter what dialogue choices or what ending you pick during the story. You can still do everything after the story in free-roam.
This guide is structured by how the unlock requirements. Some are automatic from the story (you do these automatically by playing Story Missions). Some are from liberating Mongol Territories, some are “Collectibles” found in the Open World (marked as “?” question marks), some are from Mythic Tales, and some are from Side Tales.
Simply put: you will run into all Duels automatically while going for 100% game completion. They are all tied to various completion-based tasks. You can still do all of the required tasks after the story in free-roam, nothing in the game is missable.
The Duels are essentially boss fights where you’re facing off against a single strong enemy. A tactic that works against most of them is to hold down in Water Stance and release the button when the enemy is about to attack. It unleashes a series of strikes, and even when blocked they have high guard break which will make the enemy vulnerable very quickly. Once you’ve unlocked Mythic Arts, you can use them to defeat bosses very quickly. You can also lower the difficulty to easy if you’re having trouble.
