Ghost of Tsushima A Mother’s Law Walkthrough

A Mother’s Law is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima – Iki Island DLC Expansion. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of A Mother’s Law Side Quest.

Side Tale: A Mother’s Law
Region: Iki Island
Quest Giver: Fune
Requirement: Finished the Iki Island main storyline (after Main Tale “Epilogue: Last Words”.
Rewards: Minor Legend Increase, Minor Melee Charm, +2 Silk
Mission Info: It sounds like Fune is plotting another raid. I should see what she has planned.

Objectives:

• Optional: Socialize with Fune’s raiders
• Board Fune’s Ship / Wait on Fune’s Ship
• Speak with Fune
• Travel with Fune / Listen to Fune’s Scout
• Board the Mongol ship / Defeat the Mongols
• Release the prisoners / Listen to Fune
• Defeat the mutinous raiders

Starting Location: A Mother’s Law

A Mother’s Law starts at Fune’s Refuge in Fune’s room. It’s only available after finishing all Main Tales in Iki Island (after the Tale “Epilogue: Last Words”). The quest icon won’t show up immediately when you go there. You have to enter Fune’s room (upstairs) and wait for her to finish speaking, only then the quest icon appears.

Optional: Socialize with Fune’s raiders

After talking to Fune in her room, you can either head straight for her ship or go around the camp to socialize with the raiders. There is no difference whether you do this optional task or not, it won’t impact the rest of this quest or anything else. There are 4 optional interaction points around camp, but you can skip this if you prefer.

#1 – Bonfire, interact with it to warm your hands and overhear the men.

#2 – Man at Fuge’s building, outside door. Talk to him to drink.

#3 – Enter the ground floor of Fuge’s building, there you can eat some food and overhear the men.

#4 – Behind Fuge’s building are some men playing Go. You can place a bet on black or white. Bet on white. White will win and you can return here after the quest to collect some supplies.

Board Fune’s Ship / Wait on Fune’s Ship

Now head to Fune’s Ship, just past the Bokken Tournament ring. Then sleep on the floor of the ship.

Speak with Fune

After waking up, talk to Fune at the front of the ship. Her men suspect she isn’t telling them the real reason for wanting to attack the Mongol ship.

Travel with Fune / Listen to Fune’s Scout

Follow Fune down the ship and along the beach. She will stop when you meet her Scout. Listen to what the Scout has to say.

Board the Mongol ship / Defeat the Mongols

Now we will attack the Mongol ship together with Fune’s crew. There are lots of enemies here that we must kill. It’s best to first kill the Shamans so they stop buffing the other Mongols. Next you should kill the archers on the ship. Lastly, kill the melee fighters.

Release the prisoners / Listen to Fune

Board the ship and you’ll see the objective leading you to a cave where people are locked in. Open the cave, then step inside and listen to what Fune has to say. She reveals more backstory about her daughter. Her daughter is one of the prisoners, but she became a drug addict, got some of Fune’s men killed in the past, and was subsequently banished. Fune wants to bring back her daughter to her camp.

Defeat the mutinous raiders

Some of the men in Fune’s crew don’t agree with letting the daughter back into their camp, because she got some of their men killed years ago. A fight breaks out between Fune and the men. We must aid Fune by slaying the mutinous raiders. After this the quest will be complete.
