Secret Pirate Treasure (Solve the Mystery) is a main story quest in Genshin Impact. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Secret Pirate Treasure quest including the treasure locations to solve the mystery about the Lost Treasure of Arcadia.
Secret Pirate Treasure is unlocked automatically during Prologue: Act 1, after completing story quest “The Outlander Who Caught the Wind”.

Area: Mondstadt
Quest Giver: Kaeya
Requirement: Finished main story quest “The Outlander Who Caught the Wind”.
Recommended Level: Level 10
Reward: 250 Adventurer XP, 3225 Mora, 8 Wanderer’s Advice (8 x 1000XP), 3 Fine Enhancement Ore
Mission Description: According to Kaeya, his pirate grandfather left behind a treasured sword that has been buried in the Lost Arcadian Ruins. To prevent it from falling into the wrong hands, you search high and low for intelligence regarding the ruins.
Objectives:
- Talk to Kaeya at the meeting spot
- Go to the Adventurer’s Guild and listen to their report
- Report to Kaeya
- Meet with the informant at the designated location
- Defeat the opponents attacking the informant
- Solve the mystery (Go to Kaeya at the Knights of Favonius HQ for a hint)
- Use the map to find the buried treasure
Starting Location: Secret Pirate Treasure
This quest will automatically be added to your quest log after story mission “The Outlander Who Caught the Wind”. Simply track it from the log to get a marker to the starting location and talk to Kaeya inside the Knights of Favonius building.
Talk to Kaeya at the meeting spot
After accepting the quest, leave the building and just a few meters away will be the next quest marker. There you need to talk to Kaeya again in the courtyard.
Go to the Adventurer’s Guild and listen to their report
Go to the entrance of the Adventurer’s Guild and talk to the two NPCs “Jack” & “Cyrus” there. Pick all their yellow dialogue options.
Report to Kaeya
Return to the Kaeya at the entrance of the Knights of Favonius building, where the quest started.
Meet with the informant at the designated location
Now you get a new quest marker outside Mondstadt, at the Whispering Woods area. Go there and the informant will come running from the woods, but along with her come three level 5 enemies that you must defeat!
Defeat the opponents attacking the informant
Defeat the enemies to save the informant, then talk to her to get your first treasure clue.
Solve the mystery (Go to Kaeya at the Knights of Favonius HQ for a hint)
Treasure Location #1: The first treasure is on top of the windmill in the south of Mondstadt (when you enter Mondstadt it’s the first Windmill to the left). You can either climb up from the bottom of the Windmill (make sure you have full stamina before starting the climb), or you can glide over from nearby rooftops and just climb up the last floor via the ladder. Open the treasure chest at the top of the windmill. You can also view the item “Treasure Clue (I)” from your inventory. See the first treasure map location solution below:
Treasure #2 Location: Immediately upon picking up the first treasure you get the map to the second one. It’s in the area called “Springvale”, there’s a little lake with a Teleport Waypoint in it. Just south of the lake is a mountain you can climb with several Hydro Slime enemies on top (blue blobs). Defeat all the Hydro Slimes and use Kaeya’s Elemental Skill (Freeze) on the 3 blue statues. This will light them up and when done to all 3 it will make the treasure chest appear! If you don’t have that part of the map uncovered yet, you must interact with “Statue of the Seven” icons that are marked on the world map, those reveal the rest of the map. Use the map to find the buried treasure
Treasure #3 Location: The second treasure will instantly grant you the map to the third treasure location. It’s to the east, in the area called “Falcon Coast”. There’s a cave entrance by the beach you can interact with. This lets you join the dungeon “Lost Treasure of Arcadia”. Finish the dungeon and you’ll get the final treasure. It’s completely linear, meaning you can only go in one direction. There are a bunch of enemies to defeat, a miniboss at the end, followed by several cutscenes. Then the dungeon and treasure hunt are complete.
This finishes “Secret Pirate Treasure” main mission in Genshin Impact and solves the Mystery about the Lost Treasure of Arcadia.
