Starting Location: Scions of the Canopy
Get the Green-Edged Paper Slip
Before this World Quest appears for you, you need to collect an item in the world called the “Green-Edged Paper Slip.”
If you go to the quest location before getting the “Green-Edged Paper Slip,” you will be stopped by Tisoc.
So, use the Teleport Waypoint on the west edge of the Scion of the Canopy camp.
When you regain control, turn around to see a shiny object on the boxes right next to the Teleport Waypoint. Use Pick Up to collect the “Green-Edged Paper Slip.”
Find the quest giver
Then, use the Teleport Waypoint that sits just southeast of Sulfurous Veins.
Before you move, look behind you to see a large, blue tree.
Run to its opposite side to see a small waterfall next to the entrance of a cavern.
Jump into the cavern and turn southwest.
At the end of the path, you find the quest, giver, currently indicated as ???. Approach the woman to officially begin the quest.
The woman, named Poca, wants to find Tisoc in the roots of the Mother Flamegranate Tree, but she lacks the confidence to explore a potentially dangerous cave.
Enter the cavern and look for Tisoc, who has gone missing
Jump down the deep hole into the cave.
Activate the Teleport Waypoint here and then proceed under the raised roots.
The path opens up into a large cavern, with a massive root running through the center. Glide down to it.
As you get closer, you see a man lying on the root. Approach him to continue.
When he wakes up, he asks you to help him figure out why the Mountain Flamegranates haven’t fully grown yet.
Explore the roots of the Flamegranate Tree
After the conversation, head southeast down further into the cave, which opens up into another large cavern.
Head further in to start another conversation.
Break the solidified magma
Turn around to find a couple Yumkasaurs. Embody one of them, then look at one of the flamegranates you can find around the cave.
A Crosstail Sigil appears above the flamegranate. Use R2 to grab it.
Approach the cracked rocks. Hold R2 to aim at the cracked rocks, then release to shoot the flamegranate.
Continue forward
Go through the new opening into another large cavern.
Be aware that the Yumkasaur cannot swim. If you submerge it entirely in water, it will die and you get disembodied. If you need another Yumkasaur, use the Spiritsconce right next to the first hook.
Jump down and find a hook you can interact with. Use R2 to pull on the hook, which brings three platforms up from under the water.
Cross the platform bridge. The platform bridge only stays above water for a few seconds, so move quickly.
This next section follows a similar pattern but strings consecutive timed platforms together. Read ahead to get a feel for what’s next.
Interact with the hook on the left to raise another platform path of four platforms.
At the end of that platform path, pull on another hook to raise a second four-platform path that goes to the right.
One platform perpetually stays above water if you need it. It’s the one where the treasure chest appears. You can still continue from there using the same strategy in the next paragraph.
Aim toward the Ruin Guard at the water’s edge. Then, jump and press R2 to pull yourself across the game. This can be done twice while in mid-air if you need it.
The Ruin Guard comes to life. Take it out or it will annoy you a bit later.
Then, run up the stairs behind the Ruin Guard.
The stairs lead to a cube key.
Interact with the key. A door opens back down the stairs, but a gate shuts you in.
The outside wall is broken. Attack it to break it.
Then jump down and turn left to see the door you just opened.
Open the chest behind the newly-opened door before interacting with the short pillar right next to it. This pillar releases Coilgrass Sigils so you can cross the water.
Each time you use one of these points, your Yumkasaur creates a temporary platform.
These take you to a staircase on the other side of the cave. At the top of these stairs, turn right.
Break the solidified magma
Along this path, you are forced into a confrontation with two Hyrdo Slimes.
Stay in control of the Yumkasaur. Use basic attacks as the Yumkasaur to defeat the slimes.
Looking just past the root, you see some solidified magma on the wall.
Look around the root you just passed to see a flamegranate sitting there. Use it to attack the solidified magma.
A second solidified magma spot appears to the right of the first one. Attack it with another flamegranate that respawns in the same location you last found it.
This causes a series of explosions through the next branch of the cave, ultimately opening another section of the cave.
Follow the narrow path until you reach another body of water with three Coilgrass Sigils. Use those to cross the water.
You end up at the edge of the newly-opened section of cave. Jump into it and head down to the edge of a magma lake.
Tico tells you that the roots needs to be submerged in the lava in order for the tree to grow properly.
Find a way to increase the Liquid Phlogiston levels
Before going too far, be aware that the lava lake ebbs and flows, making the lava edges rise and fall.
Follow around the lava lake on the left. When you reach the blocked lava flow, jump across the lava lake and continue into the opening on the other side.
Follow this path until it leads upward to another lava lake.
A string of Coilgrass Sigils run above the lava lake. Use them in succession to reach a section of ground right next to some solidified magma.
Break the large solidified magma
Before you break the solidified magma, know that there is a sequence after this that requires quick execution. Feel free to read ahead.
Pick up one of the flamegranates and shoot it at the solidified magma.
If you cannot interact with a flamegranate and get the error that you don’t have enough phlogiston, simply interact with the nearby Spiritsconce to replace your Yumkasaur and refill your phlogiston levels.
Flee! Quickly!
When you regain control, a long string of Coilgrass Sigils leads you over the lava lake. Use these Sigils in quick succession until they see you back above ground by the waterfall at the top of the cavern.
Now that the tree is properly nourished, you can see what a healthy, ripe Flamegranate looks like.
Complete the cutscene to finish the Ripe for Trouble World Quest.
