Forspoken has 105 Spellcraft Challenges. Completing all Spellcraft Challenges unlocks the Above and Beyond trophy and achievement (upgrade all your spells). There are 105 Spells and each spell has 1 spellcraft challenge tied to it. These are small tasks related to that spell. Completing the spellcraft challenge levels up the spell and makes it stronger.
First you must unlock the spells. You gain access to the 4 skill trees gradually throughout the story. You can buy Spells in the “Magic” Menu, it costs 3200 Mana total to buy all Spells. Watch out for the blue mana wells as you play, always pick them up, they are found in the highest density in Praenost. You can also scan for nearby Mana by pressing D-Pad Up. Another 12 Spells come from finding all Founts of Blessing.
To start the Spellcraft Challenges, interact with the bookshelf inside any Pilgrim’s Refuge (hideouts that act as fast travel points). You can have up to 3 challenges active at the same time. Try to combine ones that you can combine working on at the same time. For example, when working on a spell that has 3 levels, each level has its own different challenge, but they tend to have similar requirements that can be combined.
After finishing a Challenge open the “Magic” Menu and click on the Spell to level it up. This frees up a slot to accept a new Challenge.

- Fusillade
- Defeat enemies that are vulnerable to Sila’s magic (0/8): Fusillade summons a pair of fiery swords that sit behind Frey, then attack a nearby enemy while you are charging an attack. They can appear 5 times total in one cast, so you aren’t stuck with just one attack per cast of Fusillage. Defeat 8 enemies total with the attack from the spawned swords. Works best if you weaken the enemies first, as the swords don’t do a ton of damage.
- Legion
- Defeat enemies (0/5): Legion summons a pair of friendly enemies who will attack enemies near you. They basically act like Breakzombies and don’t do a lot of damage, so counter to most other requirements you probably want to do this with less enemies around, as they will just get knocked around in a large group of enemies. - Beacon
- Trigger during battle (0/5): Beacon creates an orb that follows you around, temporarily increasing your stamina regeneration rate. Use this 5 times during battle.

- Defeat the final enemy in a battle (0/5): Bombardier causes you to kick the enemy you are aiming at, which then causes them to explode after a short time. The explosion does damage to the kicked enemy and those around it, but for the sake of defeating the final enemy it’s easiest just to save one enemy so that you’re sure the explosion kills it.
- Firetrap
- Attack downed enemies (0/5): Firetrap causes a geyser of lava to appear below the targeted enemy, then leaves a pool of lava behind for a short duration. For this requirement you need to cast it on enemies that are lying on the ground. Pravs’s Magic
- Bolt
- Build up power and damage enemies while performing magic parkour (0/500): When attacking enemies with the base bolt attack it causes water spheres to appear around Frey. Then when you release a charged attack of any type it consumes the spheres to deal more damage. - Chain Bolt
- Lv. 1: Build up power and inflict critical blows on enemies (0/1000): Critical damage works the same as most games, where there is a chance you deal increased damage with each attack (represented by darker yellow damage numbers). - Lv.1: Defeat Tantas’ minions (0/5): As before, the easiest way to find Tantas’ minions is by starting a Flashback challenge which requires you to kill enemies, as the Simulacrum versions of enemies count as Tantas’ minions.
- Lv. 2: Defeat flying enemies (0/10): Kill a total of 10 flying enemies using the charged attack from Cluster Bolt. You can find weak flying birds called Teratornis in The Guardians’ Way region. Note that they don’t need to be flying when they die, so it is generally easier to kill them if you target them when they’re on the ground.

- Inundation
- Build up power and deal critical hits while under the effect of Inundation (0/5000): Inundation causes you to temporarily have an increased change of dealing critical damage to enemies with your attacks. This doesn’t specially need to be critical damage with charged attacks, just any critical damage while under the effect of Inundation will count.
- Maelstrom
- Defeat downed enemies (0/5): Maelstrom works basically the same as Firetrap, and has basically the same requirement to complete the challenge. If you’re dealing too much damage now and the suggested method from prior of using Blast Slice doesn’t work, you can use Charge to knock down one target at a time.
- Brume
- Attack enemies (0/15): Brume functions like smoke bomb, obscuring the vision of the enemies within the area of effect. Hit 15 total enemies with this attack.
- Eagre
- Hit 5 or more enemies with a single strike (0/5): Eagre functions basically in the opposite way as Crucible, where enemies inside the cast area are pushed away from you. Most easily done by standing in the middle of a group of Breakzombies.

- Storm Dart
- Lv. 1: Build up power and damage enemies (0/5000): This counts both the initial field damage waves, as well as the bolts fired at the end, so it’s easiest to complete by just doing it in the middle of a group of Breakzombies.
- Lv. 2: Hit enemies from midair (0/25): Storm Dark can be charged while in the air, with the initial waves both counting as air hits, even if you release the second wave while on the ground. Easily done by jumping above a group of Breakzombies.

- Lv. 2: Defeat the final enemy in a battle (0/1) – MUST BE DONE WHILE AT LOW HEALTH: The in-game requirement description is wrongly translated in the English version! In the Japanese version it says to defeat the final enemy in a battle while at low health and that’s what you must do! Kill all but one enemy, let the enemy damage you until you are at critical health when cracks appear on the screen, then kill that last enemy using Tempest (can change difficulty to hard in game settings and turn off auto-evasion if you have it enabled to suffer damage quicker).

- Trigger during battle (0/10): Spoof is a sort of dodge, which allows you to temporarily go invisible in the air to confuse enemies. You need to be holding to dodge, then when you’re in the air press or and Frey will go invisible and jump backward. The trigger for it seems kind of finicky and doesn’t seem to work against certain attacks or enemy types. It seems to be easiest to trigger by standing in the middle of a group of Breakzombies and constantly dodging, then hitting the other buttons while you are dodging in the air.
- Distortion
- Defeat confused enemies (0/5): Distortion functions like Brume, confusing enemies in a specific area. Use the ability on a group of enemies, then defeat them while they are confused and attacking each other.

That’s all of the Spellcraft Challenges in Forspoken.
For all other collectible types refer to Forspoken All Collectible Locations.

Any update on the glitched trophy?
PowerPyx says
It turns out this was mistranslated from the Japanese version to the English version.
You have to do Tempest Lv. 2 challenge WHILE AT LOW HEALTH which the English version did not say. So it’s achievable, they just made a mistake with the in-game translation.
Amato says
Great ! thank you pyx after a few tries…(because I won’t go until the screen cracks) the platinum has finally fallen ??
Greger says
How did you got those challenges for enemy attack enemy downed? I did everything else except for those. No enemy is going down anymore.
Magnus says
So something i realized while trying to do spoof challenge, is that the description for the ability is off. it says to hold circle and press l2 or r2, but in fact you hold l2 or r2, then hold down circle, and it will activate in whatever direction you are moving
jerry says
Thx so much. This game’s description is so misleading
Costellion says
Any tips on how to actually use the spoof spell? I haven’t been able to do it a single time, not by holding circle and l2/r2, not by doing it vice versa like Magnus in the comments suggested. Both with auto evade on and off. Any suggestion? Last trophy left for me.
Sm says
Is Breakstorms missable? I can’t find one I completed the map 100%
PowerPyx says
There is always a Breakstorm happening in Junoon > Farcoast Terrace, on your way to the Abomination boss called “Apsaravis” (flying dragon boss). Can go back there after story and will always have a Breakstorm.
Joey says
I can’t progress my hide and seek challenge from Olas magic at all. I thought I was doing it wrong or something but here it just says to spam the spell is my game just broken?
Slashdogg says
Anything that requires knockdown (shield shot1, prime, etc) doesn’t seem to work…I’ve knocked down countless enemies with prime and still haven’t gotten credit…is there some trick im missing??
PowerPyx says
Worked fine for me after story, I did it on Breakzombies, for shield shot I was holding the button until it powered up twice and got close to the enemy (like 1-5 meters away from Breakzombie). When I shot it from far away they rarely got knocked down.
Freya says
If anyone is still having this issue, try putting on low level equipment. I think if you kill the enemy outright, it doesn’t count as knocking it down. I switched to a cape that wasn’t upgraded and was able to finally get this.
Nicolomeus says
How can I gather items with burrow?
She just makes her ping thing but grabs nothing.
Nicolomeus says
Nevermind, i missed it’s a normal ability in freys magic
Jr says
Can’t find it anywhere but what is the total mana that is in the world, as in is it just the 3200 or is there more
PowerPyx says
There is a lot more than the 3200 required, I would guess 6500+. I just grabbed what was on my path.

For those that are having problems with Spoof.
Here is ultra super easy way.
Enter combat. stand some near the Breakzombie, so it doesnt hit you,
than Jump after Jumping HOLD R2+Circle, keep holding R2(i did hold L2)+Circle until you see it counts.
Just did it, also had some trouble with it.
Hope it helps.

Man, doing this crap probably took me longer than completing the game, lol.
Not sure if said anywhere, but the flashbacks help with resetting your abilities so you can do it over quickly.
