Forspoken has 4 Abominations Locations. Finding and defeating all Abominations unlocks the Abominizer trophy and achievement. They are the strongest bosses in the game, best done after the story when you are stronger.
None of the Abominations are missable. You can and should fight them after the story. Each is weak to a different element which is pointed out in the guide below. Use the spells they are weak to for increased damage. If you have trouble, you can lower the difficulty in the game settings at any time and also enable accessibility features such as auto-evasion. This makes it so you take no damage, thus even the hardest fights become trivial.
The Abominations are in secret side areas that require some platforming. When unfogging the map they get marked by a yellow creature icon . Each of them also drops a Nail Design needed to get All Equipment.
Potential Bug: There are some reports that the trophy might not unlock after the 4th abomination but this can be fixed by defeating them all again. They all respawn, just fast travel away after defeating the 4th one and defeat them again in a different order until it unlocks the trophy.
Collectibles Overview:
Abomination #1: Gigas
Location: Praenost > Mount Garrison
You can enter this area through “Pioneer’s Plain” in Praenost, which is the castle area where you go to fight Sila during the story. In the south-west of corner of the castle area is an open gate with a little river flowing near it. Go through this gate to reach Mount Garrison. The Abomination is in the north-west of Mount Garrison. The video above shows the full path.
Weakness: Ola’s Magic
Gigas is weak to Olas Magic (automatic story unlock in Chapter 11). Quickly fire a few darts with then hold
to fire multiple Pulse Darts. Use supportive spell “Displacement” to distract the boss. As with all other Abominations you should do this after the story when you are stronger and have access to all areas and all spells.
Abomination #2: Deinosuchus
Location: Avoalet > The Moulderings
First you need to have finished Chapter 8 which unlocks Prav’s Magic and the “Glide” spell to surf across water ( +
). It’s recommended that you do the Spell Challenge for the Glide spell (started via the bookshelves in Pilgrim’s Refuges). This lets you surf infinitely without consuming stamina. After the story you can fast travel back to Samum Coast: Western Refuge. From there head north and climb the rocks, then jump down into the lake to the east and use the Glide spell to surf across the water. Surf to the east end of the lake, there you come to Samum Coast: Eastern Refuge. Walk to the south-east corner until you find a path that leads uphill. Go to the top of the mountain. On top of the mountain you find the Moulderings Refuge (another Pilgrim’s Refuge fast travel point). From there the Abomination is slightly west. The video above shows the full path.
Weakness: Frey’s Magic
Shoot Scatter Shot at the boss the entire time. Stay on the little islands. Use the Disperse support spell to deal passive damage. When the ground starts to glow get away because it will cast explosive water fountains. The boss has a lot of health and it’s a lengthy fight.
Abomination #3: Amphicynodon
Location: Visoria > South Plateau
After the story fast travel back to Visoria > Visorian Plateau. From there you can head south-west to Homestead Hills. From the Belfry in Homestead Hills you can swing across the mountainside further south. This leads to a new area called South Plateau. In the south-east of this area is a river, use the Glide spell to surf upriver ( +
). At the end of the river is the abomination boss. The video above shows the full path.
Weakness: Sila’s Magic
This boss is weak to Sila’s Magic. Just press to keep attacking it from the side using the Slice spell (fire sword).
Abomination #4: Apsaravis
Location: Junoon > Nowhere
This is the trickiest area to reach in the game. You must have finished the story first to unlock the +
teleport ability. After the story, you will be asked to create a save, do this and click “Continue” in the Title screen to keep playing. Start by travelling to Junoon. From the early story you should have a Refuge unlocked there called “Junoon Castle Town Refuge”. If not, you can get back there after the story by doing Detour “Lost Lullabies”, it’s started by talking to Johedy in upper Cipal (she will stand at the stairs after the story). In Junoon go through the sub-region called “The Wolfwoods” (in the west of Junoon). In the north of The Wolfwoods is a “Depth of Corruption: Junoon”, which is marked yellow on the map (see 1st image below for its location). This leads to a flooded area. Surf to the east-end of the lake using Prav’s “Glide” spell. Then climb the pillars where a treasure chest (purple map marker) is. From there you can press
+
to fly across the big gap to the platform in the water and from there to the mountain east of the lake. The rest is a long climbing section where you will be hunted by enemies during a Breakstorm. Keep using
+
to fly from one gap to the next and also hold
to jump up walls (Scale ability unlocked in Chapter 11). At the very end you will reach the map marker for the Abomination. Interact with the book at the ruins to make it spawn. The video above shows the full path.
Weakness: Prav’s Magic
This boss is a big flying dragon, it will stay in the air most of the time. Use Prav’s Magic and hold to shoot the Fan Bolt spell at it. This spells covers a wide area and makes the dragon easy to hit.
That’s all 4 Abominations in Forspoken. If the Abominizer trophy does not unlock after the 4th abomination, fast travel away and they will respawn, then defeat them again in different order and it should unlock.
For all other collectible types refer to Forspoken All Collectible Locations.
Oli says
I have defeated all four but the trophy did not pop up (Gigas, Deinosuchus, Apsaravis, and Amphicynodon). I fast travelled away and killed the other three that respawned (Apsaravis, Deinosuchus, and Gigas). I went back to Amphicynodon but he did not respawn. Trophy still did not pop up.

8 months later, I am having this same issue. Did you find a fix?
