Introduction
Welcome to the Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen DLC Trophy Guide! This is the first of two DLC releases for Final Fantasy XVI, focusing on some Fallen history and finally revealing what’s behind the door located in the Dim if you were wondering what that was for after finishing the main game. Overall the DLC is relatively short only taking a few hours, equivalent to some open world traversal and unique “dungeon” area like in the main game. If you’ve already completed the platinum then you can expect about the same difficulty in Final Fantasy mode, though it may feel a bit hard starting out if you’ve not played the game since release and have to familiarize with it again.
To start the DLC, you will first need to be at the end of a normal playthrough (either on the quest “Back to Their Origin” or with a Clear Save after the final boss) and having completed the side quests “Phoenix, Heal Thyself“, “Where There’s a Will“, and “Priceless” (the ones related to Joshua and Jill, in that order). Once you’ve met these requirements, there will be a new objective to speak to Charon in The Hideaway.
Step 1: Reach the end of the game in Final Fantasy mode
This DLC can be played in your first playthrough, but for the trophy OMG you are required to beat the final DLC boss in Final Fantasy mode, so if you want to save yourself a playthrough you should wait and only play the DLC on your second playthrough at the end of the main game.
Step 2: Complete “Echoes of the Fallen” and collect all Fallen bits
Echoes of the Fallen is the single quest included with this DLC, so the main objective is to play it to completion. Fallen bits are unique accessories you can collect in the dungeon area “The Sagespire” added as part of this DLC, with 4 of them being obtained from chests, and 2 of them being obtained automatically from mini/boss enemies.
Step 3: Craft Omega Weapon
Once you have completed the main DLC quest you will have automatically received all required items to craft Omega Weapon or Omega Weapon Reforged, so head over to Blackthorne to craft it for your last trophy.

A Crystal Darkly Brave the dusk. |

Story-related, cannot be missed.
This trophy is awarded for starting the Echoes of the Fallen quest, which can be started by speaking to Charon at The Hideaway. After the initial cutscene is complete and you are prompted to speak with Joshua you are awarded this trophy. |
||
The Only Way Is Up Enter the spire. |
||
Story-related, cannot be missed.
This trophy is awarded for completing the initial “open world” part of the Echoes of the Fallen quest. After speaking with Joshua you’ll end up heading to Port Isolde for some scenes. Keep following the objectives leading north through the area (if you are in a search area, always head north). After two search areas, you’ll be tasked to head to the area north of Eastpool. Go to the dead end path located in The Dim (if you spotted the random Fallen door in the main story this is where you’re going) and after defeating one final group of enemies you’ll be prompted to go to the new dungeon “The Sagespire” and awarded this trophy. |

Repercussion Silence the echoes. |
||
Story-related, cannot be missed.
This trophy is awarded for completing the whole Echoes of the Fallen quest, awarded after returning to Charon in The Hideaway. After the prior sections, select the new location The Sagespire from the world map. This is the unique dungeon for this quest, so you play through it in one sitting like the dungeon locations in the main game. This location includes all Fallen bit pickups required for the trophy Bit Fit , so if you need info one where each of those are located check that trophy. The dungeon overall is extremely linear, with the majority of enemies being repeats from the main game. Below you can find some specific tips for new enemies, aside from the final boss which you can find info for under the below trophy OMG . Locations of required Fallen bits can be found under the trophy Bit Fit . Sigma Sigma is the first major enemy in the DLC, taking place shortly after entering The Sagespire. This boss is largely similar to the Undertaker/Soultaker enemies from the main game, having long attack windups and several fairly easily avoided magic attacks. Note that most named attacks are either attacks toward you (Ballistic Kick) or ground area attacks (Colossal Blow). The main unique attack to watch out for is Fulmination, where the boss will spawn a damaging area around itself, and then send a series of orbs out in alternating rotational directions. Keep away from the boss during this and avoid the orbs it sends out, while jumping over the waves it sends and the vertical blasts it spawns out of the ground. At the end of the attack it will turn into a giant orb and launch toward you, so be ready to dodge away from it. Omicron Omicron is similar to the humanoid specter enemies from the main game. They have a lot of obvious attacks with their sword, with a number of them being ranged wave attacks you can dodge through. Their named attacks have very obvious telegraphs (Septatonics is ranged waves, Shock Strike is a big area attack) so keep watch for those and you will be fine. You’ll see this enemy a couple more times before the end of this quest, so keep these in mind. Angry Mainyu This boss is a variant of the Ahriman enemy from the main game, having a bunch of annoying warping abilities and being a general nuisance. They aren’t overly hard as long as you can pay attention to the unique abilities they have, mostly focused on generating a bunch of damaging areas at once. Any attack they use that includes the word “Eyes” will involve them disappearing, then reappearing with multiple clones to attack at once om either an area or vertical line, so watch for that and move away. The other major attack to watch for is called Roulette, where the boss will appear in the center of the area, with a spinning damage area appearing on the ground. This area will sping in circles for a period, then stop after a while and you need to stand in the open spots to avoid damage. Later in the fights other clones will appear shooting beams to mess with you, but keep in mind to stand in the open area. Asterios This miniboss is a variant of the Minotaur from the main game. They are largely the same as the main game enemies, just with “amped-up” attacks. Most have either more range or damage, with some such as Deadly Swing being much longer and more damaging. Keep this in mind and they’ll go down easily. |
||
OMG Defeat Omega on “Final Fantasy” mode. |
||
This trophy is awarded for defeating the boss Omega on Final Fantasy mode. Omega is the final boss of the Echoes of the Fallen questline, so this is why it’s recommended you be in your Final Fantasy mode playthrough before starting this DLC, as you need to play through all of the DLC content for this trophy regardless.
The first part of this Omega fight will probably feel quite easy, as it is on purpose. Keep yourself aware of the simple attacks it’s doing, as they will be more important later. One of the main ones to watch out for is Delta Attack, where it will summon a triangle around you, that will eventually turn into a number of triangle area attacks you need to avoid. This isn’t hard to avoid in itself, but keep aware of it as it will later start occurring with a bunch of other attacks happening at the same time, the entire time through this fight. It will typically also shoot projectiles at you immediately after, so keep dodging to the side until you are sure it is done. It will also use an attack called ML Wave Cannon, where it will shoot a number of beams toward you in a line horizontally from itself. You can avoid these by either moving between them or by being close enough to move behind it, where it is vulnerable during the attack animation. After dealing around 1/4 of the bosses’ health it will shift to a new area, where you are in the second phase of the fight (which also functions as a checkpoint). Here the boss will use the same prior named attacks, along with a number more plus more frequent basic swipes. It will typically immediately perform an attack called Maximum Overdrive, where it will do a number of arm swings toward you. Avoid these by continually dodging backward until it is finished the attack. Keep this dodging in mind, as with the bosses’ new arms it has a number of “melee” attacks that have a lot of range, but can be easily dodged through as long as you spot the wind up swing. The first of the new major attacks to avoid is called Atomic Ray. When the boss starts this attack move away from it, as you need to be ready to dodge a specific area attack. It will send out waves on the ground that you need to jump over, while waiting to see the area attacks it is sending out. Watching for the vertical lasers that are appearing, as it represents the middle of the damaging areas that will appear. You need to (while dodging the circular waves) move into the open area between the vertically spawned damage areas. Watch for where the most vertical lines are, and try to move between them. This might be hard the first time, but you can spot with the vertical lines and the growing circles on the ground where the safe area is to avoid the attack. The next named attack to watch out for is called Hypertension, where the boss will slam into the ground in front of itself, then toward you. Watch for the delay on the first attack, as if you are hit with the forward wave you will be stuck in it, and on Final Fantasy mode it will likely mean immediate death as you can’t get out of the large damage wave. The final named attack to watch for is called High Maneuvers. In this attack the boss will blast away from you, not dealing any damage, until it blasts toward you from the air. This attack deals massive damage if it hits you, possibly dealing immediate death in Final Fantasy mode, so you want to try and learn the timing as fast as possible. When the boss it at around 1/4 health it will enter a “final stand” mode, where it will be sitting in the center of the arena and you need to kill it before it kills you. You need to use all of your abilities and Limit Break as fast and as frequently as you can to drain its health bar before you’re killed by the area affects. Once you do this you will have defeated Omega. |

Bit Fit Obtain all Fallen bits. |
||
There are 6 Fallen bits located in “The Sagespire”, which is the unique dungeon area where the main part of the DLC takes place. These are accessories with unique ability combinations not found in anything from the main game. There are 6 bits total, 4 of them are obtained from chests, and the remaining 2 are automatically obtained from bosses you are required to fight to progress.
If you miss any of the bits acquired from chests you can collect them by using the Stage Replay feature through the Arete Stone at The Hideaway. “The Sagefire” is playable as the farthest right option in the Stage Replay list. Escapement Bit – After the first door in The Sagespire, follow the path up past the next group of enemies. On the left before entering the next room there is a chest containing this bit. Nourishment Bit – After the Sigma boss, you’ll go up the lift and pass through a few areas with enemies that attack from tubes. You will reach a room with 2 sets of 3 on each side, just past them there is a chest on the right before going up the stairs to the next door. Bombardment Bit – Automatic reward from the miniboss Omicron, fought immediately after the location of the Nourishment Bit. Disengagement Bit – After the Omicron miniboss you’ll go up an elevator and travel around a circular area, culminating in fighting an Assault Unit OGR miniboss. Directly right of the next door out of this area is a chest containing this bit. Assailment Bit – After the Angra Mainyu boss, you’ll go up an elevator and fight one group of enemies. In the next area directly left of the next door is a chest containing this. Revivement Bit – Automatic reward from the miniboss Asterios fought shortly after Angra Mainyu boss. |

My Reward Is with Me Obtain the Omega Weapon. |
||
This trophy is awarded for obtaining Omega Weapon or Omega Weapon Reforged.
You acquire all materials for Omega Weapon automatically while playing through the DLC from defeating the bosses, so to obtain it all you need to do is go to Blackthorne in The Hideaway and craft it. The extra Tissue and Humours materials are used to reinforce the Fallen Belt and Fallen Bracelets equipment that you can obtain during the DLC, so you don’t need to worry about only crafting/reinforcing one or the other as there is enough material for all of them. |

DLC #2: The Rising Tide
Mauro Zarab says
Thanks for the quick guide. I just bought the DLC pack even tho I know it’s way overpriced. At least there is no mediocre battle arena like most garbage DLCs these days (Valkyrie Elisyum, Tales of Arise, Callisto protocol….)
belmont says
Thanks for the guide, got all the trophies!
Justin says
I am „stuck“ in front of the final boss and only having two potions on Final Fantasy mode is… kinda annoying lol.
When I exit the Sagespire, do I have to clear the whole dungeon all over again?
MrBandicoot says
Yes I think so. Best advice I have for you is buy 5 big potions and 8 little and 2 Elixiers as well before enter the dlc and then save them all for the final boss.
Primo says
Hey PowerPyx are you planning to do The Rising Tide DLC guide? I did complete Echoes DLC on Final Fantasy Mode. Do you recommend starting Rising Tide on that mode?
